Notes: This is a scene I wrote ahead of time from a book I'm writing with my two best friends, Sara and Rachel.
Otherwise:
This is on Egyptian Mythology.
The main character is Jaelyn.
Alex is a girl.
Susan is, in fact, a guy.

I was woken up by Rayna in my face and Andrew laughing in the background.
"Wake up, Jaelyn! Wake-freaking-up!"
As I began to drift from the world of dreams, Rayna shook my bed.
"We found a secret passageway into the afterworld in the bathroom!"
Bathroom? Afterworld? Sounds like a recipe for disaster.
I sat up, my eyes barely open and my head still yearning for sleep. I pushed Rayna away and went to put on my jacket.
"She doesn't wear pajamas?" Rayna asked.
"No, just jeans and her tee shirt," someone said. I didn't have the mental capacity, at the time, to figure out who, and I really didn't care.
I put on my belt, before clipping on the sheath to my knife, before putting the knife in the sheath.
I was still seeing fuzzy.
Alex, or I'm sure that it was Alex, pulled me into the bathroom. Sure enough, there was a passage to the afterworld under the sink. Strange. Was I dreaming? We went down the passage, and abruptly stopped at seeing a guy with long, greasy black hair, who looked like he hadn't washed in his lifetime, with pants that I'm pretty sure were once jeans and a faded floral shirt. He had a long, oily beard that seemed like he never trimmed.
Obviously this guy had never heard of personal hygiene.
As my eyelids dropped, I'm sure he yelled something like "I am Susan!"
I immediately opened my eyes again. Susan? Odd name for a guy, that's for sure.
"Hello Susan!" I screamed back at him as I received odd glares from Rayna, Andrew, and Alex.
Did I do something wrong?
"I am not Susan! Do not make fun of me!" He yelled like a five year old.
"But you just said that you are Susan! Don't contradict yourself, Susan, because it confuses everyone else"
"I am Shezmu!" I heard more clearly.
"Oh," I said as he charged me.
