Night. Why did it seem like everything always happened at night? Groggy days turned into active nights, and yet Galatea still wondered why she kept going out at night. Probably because there was an imaginary pull for the senshi to keep interacting with whatever senshi she could run into. It was the best way to figure out what was going on, as she wasn't going to be getting anywhere on her own. She was starting to get a grasp as to what was going on, but the best way to understand was to continue asking other senshi about their opinions and what they knew.
And yet, she kept patrolling on her own as well. A dangerous mistake that she still hadn't quite realized, even with the amount of battles that she had lost. Some time in the future she might learn, but for now she was still blindly and bravely facing the dark night, the moon and the dimly-lit street lights guiding her way.

Tsk tsk tsk.
Alunite couldn't help but wonder if the senshi down below had even noticed his pesence at all. She seemed new... Or just inexperienced ? Perhaps.
The corrupted senshi looked downward, and only saw the failings of the senshi. Someone like her should have been taken under a more experienced senshi's wings, much like he had been handled. She should not have been wandering down the streets alone, at the very least not while she wore her uncertainty like a mask on her face.
A part of him couldn't help but pity her. She hadn't had his luck. Would she even be given his opportunity ? One thing was sure - he couldn't let his pity affect his judgement. Not if he wanted to be truly recognized as who he wanted to be - loyal and trustworthy.
There was only one issue to this. Alunite did his best to clear his mind... Then jumped down.
"You sure you should be out alone like this late at night ? There are monsters out there, don't you know ?" He spoke as if said monster was much closer than she might think.
Because it was.

Galatea was horribly inexperienced. She was going to need a good talking to from someone...once she found out who that someone was.
She quickly inhaled as she heard a form land on the ground behind her, her heart jumping up into her throat. Turning around slowly, she saw a curious sight. Something that she had never seen before, and because of that whatever defense walls she had up were gone.
"Monsters?" she repeated. She was getting a conflicting feeling about him, but tried to write it off as a youma lurking nearby. Isn't that what he meant by monster? There was just a senshi in front of her at the moment.
Still, she couldn't shake that uneasy feeling, and bits of her guard started to spout back. "There are usually youma, yes..." Not that she was good at taking down any but the most pitiful ones. Even then that was only luck on her part.

...This couldn't be serious. Usually, even the most clueless senshi at least had a sense that something was 'wrong' about him. She seemed to feel like something was wrong alright, but not... about him.
He should have used the situation to his advantage - gotten her name, her sphere, really. Gotten as much information as he could.
"...They really don't teach you a damn thing, don't they ?" Pity, there. "I figure it can't be helped..."
It could potentially be an easy starseed, at least, and so he lunged, aiming a punch in her midsection. For this one... if he could make it quick and painless, he would.

Olivia had learned a bit after she had been awakened, but it was such a crash course that she hadn't remembered all of it. A bit impossible after seeing a creature that should be in a book, and not in real life for the first time!
She was about to ask what he meant, and then he lunched at her. Was a monster behind her? As soon as that thought passed through her mind, she knew that she was wrong. There was no monster behind him. The monster was him.
She felt herself wanting to scream, but it was cut short when he struck her just below the sternum. She went down on her knees, but somehow kept herself awake. If feeling utterly miserable. She had to do something or she was doomed.
"G-galatea Stone Shield!" The words came out hoarsely as she tried to fill her lungs again, but the shield was summoned perfectly on her right arm. It was something, at least.

He'd hit her just as she wanted, and down she want. Just in and out at this point, right ? Get in, rip her starseed, get it out. If he did it quick enough, she might not even feel pain...
In the end, it was Alunite's inexperience and still relatively soft heart that saved her - he was moving for it, just as she summoned her shield, and his hand collided with the stone, instead. Hard.
He frowned. Okay, that was it. He backed off - was he leaving ? No, he backed off a few steps, then called off his own magic. "Umbra Eclipse !" He say no need for the longer version of his attack for this.
If Galatea acted quickly enough, she might be able to keep it from going off...

Except Galatea was only used to fighting offensive enemies, and she was expecting a frontal attack. Luck had been on her side, and she was thankful that her shield had worked so well even though she felt like s**t right now. Still gasping for breath, she realized a second later that he hadn't taken a step forward yet.
What was he doing?
No, it was more like what was he doing? Wasn't he a senshi? Why was he attacking her? She wasn't going to be quiet, even if her voice would not be crystal clear for quite some time because of his punch, and knocking most of the wind out of her lungs.
This would probably break her shield, if it didn't shatter it, but damned if she wasn't going to try and get some sort of answer from him. She held her shield in front of him, and charged straight at him. If she was lucky, maybe she'd knock him down.
((I think it could go either way if she makes it or not before his power kicks in. either way would be fun, I am loooving this! <33))

...Maybe he should have gone for the quicker attack.
There had been a shimmering, faint, before she hit him - the stone shattered on impact, and he was thrown off balance.
It wasn't going to be that easy, through - he let himself fall indeed, but he used his momentum to try to bring her down with him. If he could do that, then he could kick her off into something... maybe.

It shattered. Every time she tried to use it, it shattered. And as it was a piece of her, she felt her own heart shatter every time it did. She felt so useless in front of everything.
Hot tears streamed down her face as her heart surged with anger. The wrong emotion to feel in a battle, but she was just so angry. "Why?" she asked, her voice still shaky from his earlier hit. "Why are you on that side?"
She crashed onto the ground, the shattered bits of her shield all around her. She struggled to push herself up, propping herself up on her elbow as she turned her head around to glare at him. This senshi-that-was-not. False. It was so confusing, but she knew she wasn't going to get any answers out of him. None that she could believe.

They all asked those questions. All of them.
How.
Why.
Couldn't they see ? Couldn't they realize what they were doing ? Was there a force in them, blinding them from the truth ?
Alunite didn't know. He would never know. One thing for sure, through - she hadn't earned her answers. Not yet.
He made his way back on his feet, walking toward her. The pity that had been on his face previously was gone, replaced by cold anger. This was a reminder - that even the apparently-clueless ones could be dangerous, if left to live long enough.
For now, through, he moved to grap her, lifting her from the ground all too easily. "Not sure why I should give you any answers...."

Galatea's eyes could only focus on the change on his face. It was clearly something that she shouldn't have voiced, no matter how she felt on the subject. It was too late, though. She felt her feet leave the ground, and panic set it. Was she going to die now? For what? The pitiful amount of energy that was left in her?
Swallowing a scream, as that would only make her more exhausted, she gripped her small hand in a fist and tried to strike the side of his head. She only wanting to be let go so she could run away. There was no reason for her to stay here, she thought to herself while looking at him with tired, frightened eyes.

She was swinging, but it was easy enough to dodge those. Now he just needed to get to her starseed...
But then the unthinkable seemed to happen. He dropped her. Eyes wide, he clamped his hands to his ears as if he was trying to drown out some horrible noise. Galatea would hear no such thing - just a slight buzzing in her ears.
Just as suddenly as it started, the noise seemed to stop, but he didn't get time to react - someone dashed and kicked him in the midsection, sending him down in turn.
Galatea's savior also wore black, but the sight of a white bodice and, more importantly, white feathery wings were a better sign of the intent of this particular senshi. Themis had stepped in the scene just in time, it seemed - a few more seconds, and the corrupt might have made off with her starseed. He'd been a little surprised to see a corrupted senshi, really. The negaverse usually seemed to save them for the big fights.
Themis put himself in between her and Alunite, hoping to let his rank do the work for him. "Get lost." Eyes narrow, trying to look more dangerous than he actually was. "Or im going to mail you back to your buddies in pieces."
There was the off-chance that he might be playing rough, but was it really worth it to figure out ? No, it wasn't. Not for one senshi starseed. He was more useful to the negaverse in one piece.
"It's just a matter of time." He spat. "Before someone manages to off her." And then he teleported out.
Themis let go of the breath he wasn't even aware that he was holding, and then he turned to give Galatea his hand, if she needed it.
"Are you alright ? Well, beside the obvious." There was a soft, calm time to his voice - as if he hadn't just made a corrupt senshi hightail it.

Between the slight buzzing, the sensation of falling, the pain from landing on the ground, and the fact that she was so tired, everything seemed to happen in a blur. Suddenly she was face to face with an eternal senshi who had just saved her life.
She shivered, gripping her arms as she settled herself into an awkward sitting position. Feeling her breath steady, she gratefully accepted the hand to help her up. The sound of her heelsas she steadied her legs were all that there was before she turned her attention to him.
"T-thank you. More than I could ever explain." Her voice was weak, but with the danger gone she was starting to not feel quite so terrified and hopeless.

She seemed more or less unwounded, at least physically. Perhaps this one didn't like to toy with his victims.
Themis wasn't sure if it was a good or a bad thing, really. Reprehensible, either way. Now he couldn't help but wonder.... if senshi like him could be saved.
But how now, Themis had other things to worry about - the young lady in front of him, for example.
"Would you like me to take you home ?" Well, as close as she would allow him, at least. Just in case.
