Kitsune looked toward the town and sighed with exhaustion. She finally made it, and a bit to close for her. She wished she had a companion of some sort, just to trudge along with her. Kitsune's face was slightly darker than it was suppose to be, her lips dry, and her steps forced. Her pace became sluggish knowing she just had a few miles more. A dessert fox came skittering around her, but it slowed and went to Kitsune as if it was a dog. Kit smiled and petted the small fox. Her fake name means fox making her feel a bit happier knowing the fox came to her.
"Hello little one, want to come along with me?" The fox gnawed Kitsune's fingers meaning yes. Kitsune laughed and started to walk along the concrete road that led to the small town. The fox barked once and kept in pace with Kitsune. Kitsune smiles feeling new energy surge through her. She wondered if she could keep the fox, but it might leave her as soon as they enter the gates.
The fox nudged it's nose against Kitsune's leg touching the scar that was always colder than her normal body. Kitsune wondered if the fox was a bit more than it showed, but she would just keep walking with the young animal. Her hand wrapped around her elbow remembering the scars that covered her body. She looked up and shook her head. Kitsune reached inward and searched her mind, and she found what she was looking for. Black smoke curled off her body and hung over her head like an umbrella, she made it a bit bigger to keep the fox shaded as well. It barked an approval and stepped ahead of Kitsune leading her toward town.
