Camelot was feeling near a hundred percent. His arm was healing remarkably well now, and he was going to have the cast off as soon as possible. He imagined he could have already had it off, as good as it felt.

He was on patrol tonight without guilt. He had lots of things to keep in mind and ponder while he was looking for any trouble to settle.

The Knights of Destiny, for one, were always on his mind. He had come across a few good knights who had joined him, had witnessed the awakening of one of his own, and spent his time working for the ideals set forth by the Knights.

Of course, the streets of Destiny City were never a good place to get lost, even in thought.

Before he knew what was going on, something had leapt on his back and forced him to the ground. It was heavy, and growling, so unless it was a particularly drunk and drugged up homeless person he was safe in assuming it was a youma. A youma he could not see and could not get off of him.

Good feeling gone.

It was lucky that Bimini had met with Vulcan and then Gehenna.

Being thrown into this war with little explaination Bimini had been anything but 'a shining knight' in his first weeks on the street. He'd been a coward plain and simple, and not much more than that. But it turned out that after all his lamenting luck had ended up his side.

Vulcan had clued him in on the most basic of information. Senshi, knights, negaverse, and youma. He was supposed to be on the side of good.. and whether he wanted to or not some force out there seemed to think he sound be out there fighting against the youma and negaverse.

And Gehenna.. well he'd taught him how to punch and attack.

Which was lucky for Camelot he supposed because instead of running away when he happened to notice the youma pounce on the man, Bimini instead moved forward for the first time.

He wasn't really aware who the man was, or that it was even another knight, but after weeks of being terrified of the monsters himself it was his job to try and make sure noone else had to go through what he had. He could only hope he was strong enough.. because obviously he wasn't as badass as Gehenna.

Grasping the edges of his bowl with both hands he swung, almost like he was swinging a baseball bat at the back of the monster. He was hoping it would be strong enough to atleast knock the monster off the man's back but.. Bimini was reasonably less than confident about his own fighting abilities. "Get out of here!" He yelped, though whether it was towards the youma or Camelot was up to interpretation.

Camelot was very glad for whoever had just leaped on him. Or rather, had just smacked the youma that had leaped on him. It was a bit difficult to tell what was going on without seeing it. He could get his bearings back, and that was good. He turned around, as best he could.

"I think I'll stay," The knight said, once he was on his feet.

A few things were changing for Camelot. He was gaining more confidence in himself and his abilities, the more he fought and the more he grew to understand his purpose. Fights were no longer surprising, safe when something jumped on his back when he wasn't watching, and no longer scary. Or at least he knew what to do with that fear.

He was strong, and he was practicing. He was using his strength and speed that the shield had granted him when it appeared the first time more efficiently. But most importantly, he was simply finding himself, and becoming the knight he had always wanted to be.

Looking at Bimini, he gave him a thankful smile.

"Thanks for that. Let's take this thing out, huh?"

The youma growled and lunged at Bimini as soon as it had recovered from the hit to its head. It wasn't happy. It stood like a monkey might, with overly large arms and much shorter legs. It had a very long lower jaw and an underbite from hell, large teeth protruding over it upper lip because of it. It charged Bimini, solid looking fists swinging.

Oh thank goodness! Bimini was more than a little relieved when his bowl hit true and the creature, atleast momentarily, was shoved away from his intended victim.

When he realized that the other man was a knight however AND his statement sounded the page was even more thrilled. Especially since.. after his moment of brash bravery.. he'd realized just how scary that monster was. Had he been alone as it rushed after him again... he couldn't have guarenteed he wouldn't have fallen to his old tricks, just attempting to flee as quick as he could.

But the other knight was asking for help? That they should take the thing out together. "I'll try my best!"

His eyes paused on those glimmering slobber covered teeth as they dashed towards him, arms flailing like a horrible rabid 8bit donkey kong.

He didn't really want to punch it like Gehenna had taught.. afraid of impaling his hand on teeth, so he lifted the bowl again, holding his breath as he attempted to swing it wide in front of him. If he didn't hit it, maybe he'd atleast scare it back?

Camelot nodded his head.

Off the bat, he noticed Bimini wasn't as young as he had first imagined, at a glance. It had been a quick one, though, considering how chaotic things had been and now the youma was charging again. Never a moment's rest, it seemed, and they had to stay on their toes.

Camelot wasn't the kind of guy to get saved and run off, though it didn't occur to him that the other might have wanted to leave once he realized Camelot could theoretically handle himself. He offered to help the other not to force him to fight, but because Camelot always felt there was strength in numbers. Even if they all had experience fighting youma on their own, there was no point in denying help from another compatriot in arms when it could be offered.

Seeing Bimini swinging for the youma, Camelot moved to help him. He was better at reacting to what others did, or so he liked to think. The bowl connected with the youma's ugly protruding jaw, and the page of Earth followed that hit by slamming his shield into the other side of the youma's face.

That sent the thing into a stunned panic, jerking backwards and stumbling around for a moment before a tooth fell from its jaw and turned into dust. The youma saw it, then looked at the two pages and growled at them. Then it decided to try and run. Pick on easier meals.

"Don't let it escape!" Camelot yelped, giving chase, knowing that there was no such thing as a good youma. Letting it run off meant letting it attack someone innocent. Maybe kill.

Bimini was ready to cheer and consider it a victory when the youma turned and began to hightail it out of there. Though he was happy to jump in and help Camelot it hadn't really dawned on him yet that.. a youma that was let go was a youma that would sooner or later go after another faceless person.

So when the command was given, he followed, doing his best to run while hoisting his flowy sash like a girl would the hem of a dress. Luckily for him the primate like youma wasn't quite as fast as some of it's four legged breathren. When he was close enough that he thought he could aim well enough the Cosmos page lofted the bowl back behind his head before winging it at the monster.

The youma got slammed in the head by the bowl and hit the ground hard, hard enough to make Camelot wonder if they wouldn't find a skid mark when it turned to dust. Probably not, as most physical traces of youma vanished with the rest of them, and only collateral damage was left behind.

Still. Ouch.

He managed to get there and dropped to his knees just after the youma fell, slamming his shield down onto the youma's head and it burst into dust. A very nice one two, if he could be so bold. He grinned, looking at Bimini, feeling a familiar rush of adrenaline.

"Nice bowl wielding," he laughed, "I don't remember the last time one went down so easily. Thank you for not letting it run off: I know it's tempting to end a fight with these things that way, but if they run off then they'll just hurt someone else later. I don't think it's in our job description to allow them to do that. Ah... did I introduce myself properly?"

He offered his hand, smiling warmly.

"Camelot, Page of Earth."

He was worrying about whether or not to try and chase after his bowl, or simply resort to hands and feet when Camelot's shield finished off the monster in a puff of dust.

"Yes!!" He couldn't help but shout, SO excited to have been a part in actually killing one of those things. Sure he hadn't landed the ending blow, but he'd helped! And it was dead now and he had done something right for once! He was even hopping up and down on his soft shoed toes until he realized Camelot was talking to him.

"Thanks" He gushed, popping out his hand as soon as the older man had offered his own. "Bimini, Page of the Cosmos"

His grin only faltered a little when he realized what the other guy had said. If they ran off they'd hurt other people. So all those other ones before now... how many people had they hurt? He felt guilty.. but.. but atleast he was doing the right thing now, right? He couldn't let anymore get away!

"You've been doing this for awhile then?" He asked curiously, looking over the elder page. "You seem to know a lot and you're pretty good with that shield!"

Camelot laughed heartily. Yes he had killed a few youma now, and had even killed a couple before he even had the powers to do it properly, but it was still thrilling to see one turn to dust and know he hadn't died in the process.

Always an accomplishment, not getting himself killed.

He grinned at the younger knight, imagining it must have been one of his first real successes, by the way he was reacting. It was fun to see and made Camelot laugh and look almost proud, despite not knowing a thing about the younger man or his accomplishments.

Shaking his hand firmly, he committed the others name to memory.

He did notice the slight change that came over the other, though he wasn't sure what prompted it. He tilted his head to the side slightly, like a puppy who was vaguely confused.

"Ah a little while, at the very least. It feels like decades, to be honest, but I think the more you use your powers and the harder you fight, the more it begins to feel natural. It's inside you all along, after all, regardless of when you actually wake up to it. That's what I believe, anyway."

There were.. more then a few individuals who thought Bimini was fairly worthless. Or at the very least.. not knight material. It wasn't anything he minded really.. if anything he was one of those individuals. He'd never understood why he had been gifted the power, more than once he'd referred to it affectionately as a 'cosmic joke'. But now...

Camelot's words of encouragement.. whether he knew he was doing it or not.. sang through Bimini. It was inside him all along? And he'd just done it now hadn't he? He'd just proved it even if only barely! He was a knight and he could do it. It was just like any videogame.. the more you practiced and played, the better you got. "Practice makes perfect" He grinned in response.

"I didn't really think about the monsters before. Like if they got away that they'd attack someone else." He admitted with a look that almost read 'whoops.. my bad'. "But now that I know, and now that I'd done it once, I'll make sure I try to do it to all the other ones I see!"

Unless they were huge.... and scary.. Self preservation was a good thing, and there was only so much a bowl of water and inexperienced fist could do.

Really he was pretty hopeless on his own. Good thing he was making lots of friends.

Camelot laughed and nodded his head. That was a very true sentiment, of course. And he knew well enough himself. He was not exactly the most graceful or skilling person around, and he had always needed help with things on the physical side of life. Fighting was just not his forte, despite his over powering hero complex sometimes.

At least, when he had been a civilian it was much more difficult. At his age, fighting was a distant memory, and as a result he got hurt rather a lot here in Destiny City. As a kid he had been rough and tumble, very much like his son now, but he had grown up quite a bit and thought it was all behind him. at the beginning of his tenure as a knight he almost wished he hadn't given up that slightly violent streak from the past.

But as Bimini said now, practice made perfect. Though Camelot was far from perfect, he was certainly practicing a lot.

"That's good," he said, nodding his head. He fixed his chain mail a bit, making sure everything was settled. "It's better to keep the civilians in mind, just in case. A fight should be finished, as thorough as you can."

"But that's not to say to get yourself in over your head, or in danger. Do you have a team or any senshi friends to help you?" Camelot couldn't help but immediately worry. He fit all the criteria: young enough to be considered a kid in Camelot's eyes despite actual age, apparent newbie to the fight of the knights, helpful and sincere, at least as far as Tony knew.

All that kicked his paternal drive into gear.

Bimini had never been a rough and tumble sort. He'd been personable, likable even. And yet not so weak as to be necessarily picked on either more than a time or two. So he'd lived a life of seeming bliss and ignorance to violence. It was something that had come back to bite him in the a** however these days.

A team? Well that certainly was a good idea, why he hadn't thought of it before he had no clue. Just like any good RPG or tabletop game there was only so much a solitary person could do.. but once you put a team together.. people you could rely on and that helped strengthen each others weaknesses.. well you could do amazing things!

"I've met another knight and a senshi once. Gehenna told me where he trains during the day so I guess I could always check in with him sometime.. The senshi not so much."

There was a half pout that he hadn't thought about it before. The answer was pretty obviously no. "I don't know too many people no. But a team really does sound like a great idea. Get each other's backs, work together to take out bigger stuff, shared experience points!" Whoops, reality slip.

"Experience points...?"

Camelot thought for a second that the knight meant something he hadn't learned about yet, but he quickly realized, before embarrassing himself, that he was referencing a video game kind of thing. He had heard young people talk about things like that in the library before.

Most of the time he didn't understand what the hell they were doing, but that was alright. He asked questions when they tried to explain it, as he always did while checking books out for people, and tried to remember things for the next time he saw them.

It was very limited knowledge, though.

He smiled and nodded his head. He knew Gehenna, as they had managed to help each other out in a particularly tough youma fight, and ended up revealing their identities to one another. He was glad Bimini had someone strong to train with.

"Ah, yes, I think the same. It's good to have people who you can rely on, and who can rely on you. I am trying to make one, for us knights, as I realize we are all very new to this and it might be better for us if we have some kind of organization and a network for helping one another. We are the Knights of Destiny... I mean. You know. Destiny City? I thought the name was... cool."

He cleared his throat.

"We take care of each other, and the innocent people in this city. Most importantly, we fight for lives, regardless of who they belong to. There's a war going on, between senshi and the negaverse, and I think there must be a way to stop it without destroying each other."
PostPosted: Mon Aug 08, 2011 10:12 am

There was a distinct and large grin that crossed Bimini's face as Camelot questioned his excited little comparison. He had stated it literally but he could twist it just as figuratively. "Well, we can share our experiences too. What we know, what we've seen, things to look out for."

Knights of Destiny. Bimini too thought it was cool. VERY cool. "Really clever!" He gushed and it was clearly geniune, not sarcasm.

Never did he imagine that going out tonight he might go from being just a guy be himself in the world to.. part of a team. Wait, he was offering right? Bimini could do all those things!

"I think it's an amazing idea really. Are there a lot of other knights around too? And in your group?"

Camelot smiled, looking oddly proud when Bimini said the name for the group was good. He was always awkward about the most basic of things, and the name was one of them. He liked it a lot, more than he let on, so he tried to downsell it to avoid any crushing disappointment or mocking.

It was a simple little boost, then, to hear Bimini react sincerely. He smiled.

"Well there aren't too many other knights, as far as I know. To be honest, I imagined the knights of the round, twelve individuals making a strong unit, when the idea for this group took wing."

That, and every time he met someone, the joke popped up somehow. It seemed fitting, then, that Camelot be a part of a knight of the round table kind of deal. And they truly could do more as a unit, and be strong. He liked that idea a lot.

"I would love for you to be a member with us, though. We might be few, but we are stronger together, and at the very least we can help you. What do you think? The only prerequisite is a promise, a vow if you want to get Arthurian about it, to protect innocent lives and take every possible action to avoid death or killing. And to be loyal to your teammates. So. Two. Ah."

He was still working on the pitch.
