The days after camp seemed to drag along; Istas had been working on a plan after Polaris’ Youma hunt contest had showed up. Everything seemed to be dancing in the child’s head and as if it was falling into perfect sync she wanted to drum up an idea. Much like she’d seen her father do before hand she was writing out a plan and a proposal, Istas had trouble spelling the word so she’d googled it, thankful for her small laptop.
She hadn’t left her room that night and eventually turned off her little lantern and fell into bed with the stuffed animals that were there closing her eyes and giving a soft yawn. She’d just curled up and drifted off when something woke her, giving a small start the child looked around. What was that? Istas glanced out her window and looked around, there was no wind blowing. The house didn’t normally make that noise, the child checked under her bed and in her closest and anywhere else she thought there might be something lurking. Maybe out of plain child-like habits, but soon enough when she tried to sleep again she just wasn’t comfortable. She couldn’t sleep as a senshi, there was a small pout before she dragged herself to her parents room.
Knocking softly on the door, it’d been ages since she had to do this. Her little footy pajamas were in a soft shade of blue with green accents. “Moooommmmmmm” She wailed pathetically, “I can’t sleeppp.” She heard a soft groan and the older woman eventually came out dressed in a robe. She was looking at Istas curiously, when the girl sounded off, “Do we still have little wolf?” She asked with a yawn rubbing at her eyes hoping maybe her mother would know where the worn out wolf was. She remembered having it as a baby; her grandfather had given him to her mother for Istas when she was born. She watched her mother as she looked thoughtful.
Chi disappeared for a little bit to search for the stuffed animal before coming back with a somewhat worn out, patched up, wolf toy. Holding it out to her little girl, “Is this what you want snow rabbit?” She asked curiously.
Istas nodded taking little wolf in her free arm. “Thank you mommy.” She cuddled him one armed until she got to her bed, he was about half as big as she was, so it took some effort the sleepy child not to fall. The she hoisted him onto her bed and crawled in cuddle up to the wolf plush with her arms wrapped around him and Arty, the closest bear she could get to Barnaby outside of being henshined up. It took a little while still for her to fall asleep but, sleep did finally come in the form of comfort from Little Wolf and the soft tune of a lullaby from her radio.
