Although the day was bright and hot, the grasses and trees in the backyard of the shop still glistened with droplets from the rain the night before. Puddles, though small in size, littered the ground and made a muddy mess.
But Mooch wasn't fazed in the slightest. Not that anything fazed him to begin with. Nose to the ground, his paws tread mud and grass alike as he tracked the scent of a squirrel to a tree, talk wagging like a maniac when he circled the giant obstruction and lost the trail. Eyes flicked up the truck of the tree, and the small-sized male barked obnoxiously to get his prey's attention in vain.

Melissa popped her head out of her blanket. She was hot and the day just began! She stepped out of her bed and seen her parents still sleeping. She smiled as she stepped closer to the window. The day was not what she pictured she wanted cold. She was okay in the summer, but it was never her favorite.
She ran down stairs quietly and stepped out side. 'Ugh the heat' She looked out as the sun beamed on her fur. Heat..She sighed and then looked around and seen a squirrel run up the tree. She smiled and then frowned as she seen a pooch barking at it. Melissa ran up to him. "Excuse Me, Mr. pooch, why are you barking at this innocent little squirrel?" She said politely.

There he was, barking like a maniac with his forepaws on the tree trunk, when a voice from behind made him quickly spin around... though a bit too fast, and he wound up with his butt planted on the ground. He perked his ears, tilting his head to the side cutely as he tongue dangled from his open mouth, panting with the exhaustion he felt but nonetheless a happy pup. He 'woofed' quietly, staring down Melissa with his bright blue eyes and wagging his tail, just waiting to see what she did next and not thoroughly understanding her words.

Melissa watched as he barked until she said something. With the words she spoke she saw him fall on his butt. She looked at him and just wanted to hug him. He was too cute! She wanted to keep him! She jumped with joy as she still acted like a kit. "Are you thirsty boy? Would you like some water!?"

Cute? Now that was a word that sunk in, and he played the role perfectly. Lifting a paw, he swatted at the air, then switched to the other, tail wagging as it usually did and eyes as big as saucers as he started to 'beg' on his haunches and whine pathetically.
He wasn't sure why this worked, but he was sure that doing this would get him something tasty.

Okay, now he definitely knew that word, and he barked enthusiastically before commencing his bouncing around the femme to express it. He ran a few feet away and turned, dropping to the ground and wagging his tail as he looked up at her with a whine.

Melissa smiled at him and ran inside to the kitchen she grabbed some treats and a bowl and then also a water bottle. She brought them out to the tree and sat the bowl down. She poured the water in the bowl and then gave him a tree for being so cute.
"I have more treats in my bag if you are a good boy. " She smiled at him.

Mooch happily lapped at the water, tail wagging, before gingerly taking the treat in his mouth and letting it sit untouched to add to his cute factor. She spoke, and he tilted his head to one side, treat dangling from his mouth as he attempted to make sense of what she said. Unable to, he munched at the treat in his mouth until he saw IT... the fluffy demon attached to the end of his spine. Barking, he started chasing it in an attempt to catch it, not realizing it was his own tail.

((to let you know i tagged you that is why i quoted you..)) Melissa watched him eat his treat, he seemed very happy. Then suddenly he started to chase his tail around and around and well around. Melissa giggled at him and said, "Silly fellow, that is your tail. get it..Watch it, its going to get you. " Oh she wondered who he belonged to, he was just so adorable and cute. Maybe her dad would let her keep him.

Somehow running in a circle did nothing to help him. He sat down and started chasing it that way, the funny ritual of rubbing his butt in a circle just as serious as the running, in his eyes. He perked up and looked at Melissa so suddenly, his tail was forgotten and wagging when he let out a little bark, buttscooting towards her and offering a paw cutely.

Melissa placed her paw under his. "Good boy! Shake!" She smiled at him and then scratched his head. He was being so cute and adorable. She reached over and hugged him. She then jumped up tagged him slightly and started to run around like a dog herself. She pounce a grass blade. Her butt sticking up in the air and her face to the ground. She was inviting him to play. She wiggled her butt with a smile on her face.

Mooch was in awe. Well, for about a second or two. Then he was after her with a sprint, nearly colliding into her before turning sharply and running, back and forth only once before he pounced the grass, mimicking her movement with his butt in the air and happy bark. A few more barks, and he was off again, bouncing instead of running and tail wagging a mile a minute.

Melissa giggled and chased him like a doggie would. She got closer to him and then poked him slightly and was off around the trees and right into a bush. She waited til he was close enough and then she leaped out and rolled on the ground. She sat up and waited for him to come over to her. She had treats, food and water for him. It was lunch time and he might be hungry.

He kept up with her as he saw fit, backing off when she didn't expect it, only to leap over her and run within her reach tauntingly. When food came into view, however, he instantly became docile, the only signs of his fatigue being the tongue hanging from his mouth. Trotting over, he sat down in front of her, licking his chops before going for the water.
