Glozelle: It was night by the time Ela had finished telling Gloz all about what had been happening in the pride since he had been forced to run. It was very spotty information, but it was enough to make him certain that this plan was the best thing for everyone here. Ela was all she said and more. She was inconspicuous, no one would give her a passing glance, and she was a careful girl. Still, he wasn't sure about it.
He left Ebio's den to flop into the sand outside, Ela having fallen asleep. He had saw how she was sad that she couldn't convince Zhen to cuddle up to her, but his sister would get over it. Ebio was the only other one who was awake to his knowledge, Zhen had curled up with him as he had listened to the news, falling asleep a little bit before Ela had. He'd needed some fresh air, had left the suddenly quiet den to think a bit.
A part of him wanted Ebio to follow. He... thought he might like to talk to her a bit, at least some part of him did. Now that he could stay here, things had changed. Caspian had made it clear that he didn't want him to go back to their old pride, if not for Gloz's sake, at least for Luci and the other cubs who had grown attached to their uncle. He was actually... welcome here. Here, where he could have something he had always thought wasn't available to him. But after all the pushing away, would he really be able to bring Ebio closer?
Ebio'Femi: She tried the best that she could to warm up to Ela, and it was easy. For so much has happened to them, what she could hear she would keep in mind and what she didn't hear, she gave them room for. Til she had to go and pick up Zhen, that's when they could have talked more.. When Zhen saw the female, immediately she was protective and feisty but when Gloz had soothed her and she realized it was 'family'. She simply dropped it and laid next to Gloz. Noting that Gloz was very much like the father she loved and had to leave behind. A sigh came from her as she watched them leave.. She wouldn't leave Ela til she fell asleep.
Making more herbal 'gew' to give to her in case she needed it, or to take some. Right when she was looking through the bag she had put down when she finally came in to look for the 'bottle' that had the rest of her gew in.. Next to it was Gloz's gloves. Hearing him get up and leave. It was very like him to do so. Giving herself a painful feeling in her chest about it. Letting moments go by as if to collect her thoughts.. Unknowing that she had take up much longer in those thoughts..
Looking to Ela whom was fast alseep and looking up at the enterance to her den. Ears went down as she pulled up the gloves to her chest. Ears down as she tried to understand and it was simply clear, but with all this news. She didn't know how to take it. Putting herself up for failure all this time and now? Shaking her head, she looked back at the mouth of the ruined den. Hoping.. He was awake, she put the gloves back in and slowly made her way out of the den. Soft, quiet steps. She was a pro, she was a nanny after all and sleeping cubs were just that sleeping terrors that she loved NOT to wake up. Looking up as she closed in on him. Stopping before she could make it and gulped down hard before she pulled off her satchel and softly put it down against his paws when she made it toe to toe with him. Then rubbed her forearm. Nervous and blushing already.. but mostly confused on what was to happen now.
Glozelle: Gloz's ears had been trained to pick up the slightest sound and in the quiet that surrounded him, it wasn't difficult to catch the sound of soft paws behind him. An ear flicked back to listen to it, but it didn't take long for Ebio to walk around him and face him. He didn't rise, merely looked up at her from where his head lay on his paws. Movement drew his eyes to her leg, where she rubbed one paw nervously. Maybe he had been right, maybe he wouldn't be able to change what he had tried so hard to avoid up until now. What sad irony, that he had worked and worked to keep her at a leap's distance and now that he wanted her close she was scared away every time he tried.
He glanced at the bag for a moment before setting the thought of it aside. He would look at it later.
"Part of me thinks this is a stupid, reckless plan..." he grumbled under his breath. The words hung in the air for a moment before his eyes closed and he shook his head slightly. "And the rest... barely knows what to do with this... freedom."
Ebio'Femi: They had given each other so many glances as they all were talking all together and now they were here alone and she could barely look him in the face. A big huff before she heard him speak up. She almost had her head hung low, til he spoke and she rose her head just a little in attention. Then back down.
"Like you, I have learned to understand that others will do as they wished whether we like it or not." Her voice was filled with the distance he had sense. Looking at the bag then closed her eyes. "You can honor what freedom she has given you.. or. Fight along side her, but she has her points..." She trailed off.. Then slowly she crept her body down and went to her stomach. Finally, she looked him over.. A pang in her chest.
Then, she crept a little closer and with the tone in his voice activated her motherliness and softly crept more til she lowered her head and pressed her nose against his. Then headbutted him ever so softly and rubbed her forehead against his. Savoring the moment and holding her breath as to be ready to be barked at if it was too sudden.
"What ever choice you choose.. I honor and support it..." She quieted her voice in but a whisper. "Because.. you have a place here.." Trying so hard to seem like the 'rock' now, but her emotions and feelings were getting jumbled up and made her went to burst but her deposition now didn't match it. Holding it in as best as she could.
Glozelle: "No, she's right. If I went back, it would just be more of a hazard than help. If we had time to talk about my time here, I know what she would tell me. Here, I have my nieces and nephews and Zhen to look after." Gloz had paused there, but was interrupted when he went to continue by her pressing her head to his and reminding him that he did have a place here, that she would be behind him with whatever he chose. He had thought about continuing on his previous thought, to say that she was here, too. But no, that didn't seem good enough.
"Whatever my choice..." His voice was musing as he more or less repeated her words, not moving away from the connection he had to her. Did he really have to think about his next words? Did he really need to think about what he should say and what he should ultimately do? No. This was too right in his mind. For once, he had no doubts. Something could happen tomorrow or the tomorrow after that or the one after that, and he might have to leave, but at least for tonight he could pretend he had a future here. As long as he continued to make think about the present and not about what he might have to do upon the next sunrise, he could do what was, in his heart, the right thing.
"I would choose you, Ebio, if you'd have me," he finally said, looking off for a moment. He didn't know the customs here, not to this extent. He had heard of places where it was the female's choice, or other strange customs. "I don't know how this goes in this pride but... if we were in my pride, I would choose you."
Ebio'Femi: Pressing against his head, it felt like more and more, the idea of him staying was upon her and was filling with joy but still. Now she was worrying over Ela. Such a strong girl could take care of herself but it was like Ebio to worry. No one should be in danger but maybe that was how it was out there.. Sighing as she didn't draw back. Closing her eyes softly. Somehow she didn't feel as heated in the face as she would before, because it was such a strong subject to forget her feelings just a moment to comfort someone whom was in need of it. Giving a slight nod when he repeated her.. "Whatever it may be.." A soft whispered, but the next words she would hear from him would draw her head back. Just a moment of breath to process it. Tilting her head, and still processing it.
Her cheeks flushed then but she didn't seem to notice as she was more surprised than anything. "Choose...me?" Her ears went up as she softly and unconciously put her paw upon his. She didn't know what to say, how to say or.. was this his way of proposing? Wait, hold up. STopping that process right where it started. Thought about how many times she had been hurt but neither had any of the proposed, was it safe? "In our pride.." She started, Talking low and direct. "Choosing... -pause- someone..-pause- means you do not ever want to seperate from them by heart and soul, that one and only and become a family. Support.. dare I say, love." Talking about it got her rather depressed by she didn't seem to have it now. Then softly she put a across his cheek and held his cheek bone up. Looking in to his eyes. "I think I already chose you.. I didn't think I'd hear the words especially from you." A smile, her eyes were watery but she would hold it if not for him since she knew that kinda thing, Gloz didn't like. Leaning her head back down and softly licking his nose. "Can I ask you.. just one thing.."
Glozelle: Gloz shook his head. "I couldn't even begin to think those words, not when I knew I had to go back, at least to get Ela. Anything could happen and I didn't want to do that to you," he explained, reading the hesitance in her expression. But she pressed her paw to his face and his head tilted slightly towards it, rubbing his cheek against her paw.
"Then they mean the same thing," he added, confirming any doubts she might have had. And her own response lifted most of his. He snuffed a bit when she wiggled her nose against his and then his heart sank slightly. She wanted to ask him something. There were so many things he did not want to tell her, things about his past that he feared would frighten her away from him. Some things he doubted he would ever tell her, if he could help it. But he was feeling things for Ebio that he had never felt before. And if she wanted something from him, how could he ever truly deny it?
"You can ask me anything, though I may not be able to answer."
Ebio'Femi: A soft smile appeared, but it was more sincere and more mature than the ones she had given so many times before. "You don't have to answer if you don't want to." Shaking her head and softly before putting their foreheads together again. "..I know that your not from here.. and even further.. but if they mean the same thing. Please, tell me the truth if anyone- anything comes up. Don't leave me in the dark of your..our future. You do not have to tell me your past, as I accept you with all that you bring. Just.. I can handle it. If you had to leave. So don't think you have to hide stuff from me. Like.." Touching and pulling memories. "If you ever wanted someone else or anything you can tell me, but lying and hiding it hurts worse. I can take it..." For it happened to her already and her own best friends no less. She just hoped it wouldn't happen again but she would accept it because she just couldn't change it.. "Please don't lie." She looked pained to even say those words but all in all, that saddness turned in to happiness. Softly leaning in more and rubbing her face in to his shoulder. When she was trying to find a place to put her paw, somehow. It ended up on her back.. After snuggling her face, she looked down on to the bag and a smile crept on her face. "I have something for you."
Glozelle: Finally, Gloz sat up, drawing Ebio up with him. Her request had been so heartfelt and yet... How could he make such a promise? He wanted to protect her and some things he might have knowledge of could hurt her. He could think of no other examples other than he might have to leave for one reason or another, but regardless. Promise never to lie to her, or to keep her in the dark?
"I don't want to tell you things that could hurt you and I'm not one to share my thoughts. But I will try to not keep things from you. I won't promise, there might come a time when I make a mistake or there is something I simply cannot tell you, for your own safety. But I promise to try," he said his paw rubbing against hers. Going with his heart rather than his mind again, he leaned to her to press their cheeks together again.
"I have serious doubts that I could ever want someone else. You weren't the first who tried to get under my fur, you're the only one who succeeded." Yes, it was a bit of a jab at her stubbornness, but he meant it. He didn't think there was another creature in the world who could get to him like she had. And if there was, she couldn't come close to meaning what Ebio did to him. There just was no way.
Ebio'Femi: When he drew her close.. where she would shy away, she held it in and went for it. Much to what Ela told her. Go with it, and she did and didn't regret it after. Snuggling in to his chest. It felt so good to be in someone's arms. This was what she was missing out on all these years? A soft purr errupted from her and she was deserpately holding back the tears yet again. She needed to stop being so emotional! But for him, she was trying to comply.
Yes, it hurt but she knew somethings he couldn't share but she hated to be in the dark. Saying something up front would make it less painful but she accepted his 'trying' and that was the end of it.
A soft endearing smile was made to him when he attempted the cute and made her feel oh so much more secure than she was. "Is that so~" She teased. "Ack~ you keep making me forget you..rock." She laughed softly as she turned and dipped her head down. Nuzzling in to her back pack before pulling out the gloves. Holding them in her maw as she wagged her tail. Sitting and leaning back to drop them in her paws. "I made them when I thought you were leaving..Its to protect your paws when in the hotter sands." The colors matching the cloak he often wore.
Glozelle: Rock? Ela must have referred to him by his nickname when they were talking with one another. Ebio had never called him that before and it was a name only his cousin knew. He would box the ears of any recruit who tried to call the stoney general such. It didn't bother him much, not from Ebio. He was a very rock-like individual and he cared enough about her that he didn't mind her using the nickname.
She produced the gloves and gave her what could only be a bit of a smile, the expression softening the hard lines of his face for the moment. "You're always thinking so much for others, Ebio," he replied as he looked to the gloves. The colors didn't show well even in the moonlight, but he was sure they were darkly colored. Maybe like the pelt he already wore.
"I'll do everything I can to make sure I won't ever have to leave you or Zhen," he added, slipping his cheek back to hers, feeling warmed by the contact. He hoped to the gods that he wouldn't have to, that after a time Ela would come back here with the news that their pride had given up caring about the sons of Caspian IX and the pride they had fled to. But whether that day came or not, he knew he would do anything in his power to keep Ebio and Zhen safe and happy.

Ebio'Femi: Her eyes looked like those of a canine in the saddest moment. Drooping slightly and making them appear bigger as she felt so warm inside.. Having her cheek brushed again, she tucked herself inwards- shying but not too far. Being physically even in the slightest, she didn't know too well about. Not when she had gotten older and more distant. If felt so good, softly rubbing her cheek against his in return. "I'm a nanny.. I guess it was bred in me." A soft chuckle softly echoed from her. It felt so good to be.. loved? A different love from a child, different then what she had ever felt- except for the crushes. Ah the school days were nothing but memories now...
Leaning up a little to speak in to his ear. "I hope so. Zhen.. I- would miss you.. But if you did.. I would wait for you." Then looking in to his eyes before touching their noses.. A blush so thick on her muzzle that it would have probably shown if it were sun up. "And you- thinking of us now, as a family? I think you too are caring and healing a lot more than you think." Winking at him with that smile becoming sly.
Glozelle: "And I'd think of you while I was gone," he replied with a nod. It was sentimental, but the truth nonetheless, and he could be honest with her. At least in this respect. His eyes rolled towards the heavens, though, when she teased him. He couldn't tease her back, he didn't really know how. But he could probably make her blush even more than she was already.
"I always did. I just didn't want to get my hopes up that actually having the two of you was in my future." The words were hushed and the truth was evident in his voice, if not the look on his face. A part of him still didn't believe it. A part that told him any moment from now, something could come and pull him away from Ebio and Zhen. A part he was doing his absolute best to ignore with the rest of his being.
Ebio'Femi: Her head got light for a moment, putting a paw to his chest and clenching the gloves with the other. Purely and overly shy for the occassion. "Gloz. Please.. your making me blush.." Her voice was soft and truely genuine of being touched by his words. "As I when I was told many times you were leaving. That you wanted to leave.." Oh that still hurt when she thought about it. Shaking her head. "Even if you had left- You had already taken my heart with you. That I felt when you put Zhen in my care." Her ears went down.
" When broken hearted so many times, you tend to keep your heart protected. But it was freely given to you, then. Even if you were quite the 'rock' as your cousin says. But as one who fought all his life.. Its expected. I'm just happy that I- I'm with you. I'd miss taking care of your wounds!" A light whimper came out, with the said outburst. Looking almost in shock she had risen her voice, she quietly looked down now and brought his paw up and slid one glove on.. Truly embaressed. "I didn't know you could be so tender, I'm surprised~ You caught me off guard." She smiled nervously.
Glozelle: Gloz let out a tired sigh. "Wanted and needed are to different things. I wanted to stay here with you, but you know what I needed to do," he replied with a small shake of his head. It hurt him to know that she had been hurt so much in the past and that he might have made it worse. He wanted to growl, to find all of the males who had broken her heart and tell them just what he thought of them. But, knowing Ebio, his Ebio, she would not want him to get angry at them. Her heart was just too soft, even if they had been the ones to break it.
"I'm just honest when I actually say things," he added with a snort, though it didn't really sound very amused. He looked down at the glove and flexed his paw. It was a good fit and it probably would be useful against the sand.
Ebio'Femi: "Yea.. I know. Determined you were of pushing me away.. But I couldn't help it." Speaking as she looked down at the paw, yes! Success! It fit him like a glove should! A smile from ear to ear as her fill of accomplishment was fulfilled. Putting the other on his large paw, she went slow as she heard him. Taking in to account all they had been through, how much time they were around each other and now shared responsiblity over a cub that needed it overall... "Like how much I care for you.." Answering him in another question, a giggle formed because of it as she checked both gloves. Perfect fit! On her first try! Did he like them? He was honest enough, and if he didn't like them, he would have said something by now.
"Too tight? Too loose?" She chirped, ready to use her 'mother's' feathers to mend it either way. When she placed her paw over his, and with her other paw under the same paw she held. Checking it, she couldn't bring herself to look up at all. "Is it.. too soon..to.." Her voice trailed off. "To say I.. I.." A deep pause as the words got stuck in her throat and jumbled all the butterflies in her stomach. "I love you.." Lowering herself as she looked up at him finally. "I can't believe I just said that~ I'm~" 'ARG!" "I'm sorry I'm not good with these things.. I wish I had found you sooner. When I was young I loved without restriction.. It's like I just forgotten."

Glozelle: Honestly, Gloz didn't know what to say to that. Yes he knew she cared for him, yes he knew that it was enough for her to agree to marry him and be happy that he was not going to leave her. But love, that was... It was foreign to him. He knew of the love between family, barely. But he had never known that of someone who had no more ties to him than the feelings of a tender heart. Much as he cared for her, he did not understand nor recognize that kind of love.
"I'm not certain. Love is not really an area I'm familiar with, but if it feels right to, say it," he replied with a shrug, looking to his paws. The first one she had gloved was upon the ground, supporting him while the other one was still held in the air. He turned it, flexed it, and nodded before setting it back into the sand. "How you managed to make it a perfect fit without making it on my legs, I can't tell," he added, a small nod affirming the complement. He had tried to go back to her earlier comment but she had once more reminded him of the heartaches she had experienced. He scooted towards her to rest his chin on her head. It was something he had seen adults do when he was young and it seemed right.
"I wish I had found you, then, too. I might have spared you the heartache... Though a lot of things might have been different then. I made a lot of mistakes when I was young."
Ebio'Femi: He seemed so deep, that sometimes, if she thought in her mind to extend her paw, he would be untouchable. What he had expirenced, she wanted to share the burden of but that would likely happen for Gloz was too proud in her eyes to accept her taking on the burden. Questioning the 'love' all she really had was crushes so her knowing of love was slim but she knew love of family and sometimes it was overwelming and that was partial on her end. "Then I shall hold it within me til I speak it fluently, and show you then..I won't be so embaressed that way.." S nervous laugh when she felt the head on her own. Blinking up and then brushing brightly. The affection made her giggle now and seemed rather funny for Gloz to be doing it no less. Making her cheer up some then what she was becoming, nervous and shy. "I measured my paw, against my father's.....oh! My father!" Gasping softly. "What would my father think! I haven't told him! Oh no.." Looking down and shaking her head. Her and her father were almost inseperatable at times but as she got older and away, she became distant and especially when her mother's name got involved.
"He hasn't met you, but I am sure he'd love you! He loves anyone of our choosen loves.. Beginning to think he had given hope on me." A purr came out. "Now he would be proud~" Til she heard him speak of them younger. If things happened earlier, would she have still fallen for him? The chances almost devasted her and made her clentch. "But I would accept you even for them! I made them too.. but that is what brought us here now.. Just. Wish I could have shown you how much I could love..If I can call it that anymore."
Looking up and giving him a few licks on the chin before cuddling up under it again. Rubbing her scent so to say. "We're here now, late but we made it..." Then she gave off the most particuliar noise of a laughing snort. "So when will you be using my den~? And who would give the news to Zhen~" Leaning more in to him and bumping him lightly as though to say that he should do it, with some encouragement. "Or did you want to sleep outside?" Licking at her chest and nipping just to see if he would push her away.. Deep now, she was too sometimes a child, just, she hadn't ever been so nervous or with someone, it was hard to determin how to act around him now that everything seem... official.
Glozelle: Should he tell her? Ebio talked about her father, how he would be happy and love him because Ebio did. It made him think of his own father and he wondered if he should tell her some of the reasons he was hard. About his father, his uncle, his aunt. No, he wouldn't ruin the moment they were having by bring up sad, hurtful memories. He didn't want to be a murder in her eyes. He just wanted to be... himself.
"You think you haven't already? I see your caring in your stubbornness to help two creatures who tried nothing more than to lock you out, in how you cry over the smallest thing, be it happiness or grief. If love has to do with that, I've seen it," he replied, tilting his head so that his cheek touched the fur tuft on her head.
"I'd rather not sleep outside. Is it right that I should stay with you?" He wasn't sure if there were customs with this or if it was simply a "We're mates now" kind of thing. Yes, he had asked her to marry him, she had said yes, but he wasn't certain if there were ceremonies with that. Or if it was right that a male should sleep in a female's den if they were not married. "And I think telling Zhen can wait until the morning."
Ebio'Femi: She didn't have to look up at the emotion she had when he spoke that possibly she had not lost it all? The caring undoubtably. It sounded to her that he had seen it all for so long, did she really make an impression to know how she felt, acted over things? "So you have noticed in such things.. others take for granted..." Her voice didn't echo to loudly, just a whisper, concerning her it was hard to talk about.
"Hmm.. I don't know.." Peering over his question, her emotions were overly shown on her face. From stern in thought to bright, sly and tease. Smirking then. "Did you want to risk waking Ela and Zhen? And yes, she should get lots of sleep. Early morning tomorrow." Nodding softly. "Stay in~ or stay outside~ I don't know.. should I let you in?" Huffing a little 'as if'' wise. "I haven't been married, I don't know if there should be a custom to you sleeping in my den but.. I am a healer, a nanny, everyone is in and out of my den.. Visiting cubs that have gotten their mane." Jokingly though but still true. "What ever shall we do Gloz~ My.." Blushing brightly again and giving a soft nervous giggle.
Glozelle: Gloz let out a slow sigh. "Well, whatever I do, you need to go to bed. You're even more giggly than usual," he replied, slipping back so that he could stand. He moved to her side and nudged her back towards her den. He made up his mind then, he'd stay here tonight. Ela was here after all, and now that he had her he didn't really want to leave Ebio unless he absolutely had to. And while working to keep this pride safe was a good reason, uncertainty over whether this was acceptable wasn't really.
"Come on, I'm too tired to go back to my borrowed den anyways," he added, trying to give her more of a reason to let him stay. It was a bit of a lie and a bit of truth. Sure, he wasn't so exhausted that he couldn't make it back, but he was tired enough that it would be an inconvenience. This was a much better arrangement.
