Is more people, or more interest in G-feds.

The problem is that you've got TNA and WWE and that's what people expect in G-feds, then you've got the horribly ******** done rps that are done by people like KM who want to break away from TNA and WWE but don't realize that they're doing s**t horribly ******** wrong. And I use the term horribly ******** wrong in the sense that they're not doing things 'wrong' its just that what they're doing is horribly ******** unreadable and makes no sense whatsoever, nor is it fair to everyone else who attempts to rp in those said guilds.

anything else?

I'd focus on creating more interest, when creativity is reinvigorated people will notice and want to join in. New people could also be recruited from the main Gaia forums.

I expanded on this with Lady Bern (Astrid)

Lady Bern
we need to work on gathering the interest of people other than those who wants to play reals.

Me: This, in addition to people period. Every guild is suffering from it..

Lady Bern

That is true. Even I am guilty of my own inactivity in places.

If only people could do a fairly decent job of playing reals but I have yet to see that happen. I just remembered a horrible Booker T real, I give points for the enthusiasm but all else was painful.

If people are willing to post outside of the guild once in awhile I'd like to try and plan for an out of guild match or discussion during the next event in hopes of drawing some attention. Sadly for the most part it would have to be unofficial although we only really keep track of the titles.

The only major con to doing a match or two outside of the guild in those types of events are dealing with the dumbasses who likes to just jump in to spam a threat with something stupid or declaring their love for their team or whatever.

With what happened with Punk lately it would have made for a good discussion thread.

All that aside I fear that drawing more active people in would be hard for the simple fact that those who would dedicate themselves to this type of RP are already members of some of the major wrestling guilds. So getting new active blood seems difficult.

Me: (See very first message, add this smile and then the 'new blood' that comes in reads this and become accustomed to this style and the literate people read it and hassle them, turning them away and well they get upset and leave. Or we'll try and help them and they'll be like 'No I don't need your help insult insult' to which people jump on them for that and it just becomes full circle.

Yes we try and be patient with people but sometimes there are people that just test your nerves to the point where you want to hunt them down and hit them with a dictionary in the head.

We can post outside in the forums, but they don't last at all. I don't even post outside the forums at all unless its for Gaia events and that's.. pretty much it. I mean I even made a site for my guild but it just got too much of a hassle to manage. Posting in the forums also presents that problem (as previously mentioned) of idiots jumping in. Unfortunately G-feds are a dying art right now...

It's pessimistic but true about the main forums.

Hmmm, would members from other types of RP Guilds be any less stubborn, set in their ways? The people in Naruto groups, for example, probably unlikely but there must be some more mature guilds on here.

Not entirely true. Where you may think a Naruto RP is full of kiddies and such, if you go looking for a literate one, you will not only find people who do really amazing posts, but people are also really mature.

Personally, I think it would be beneficial to open up a fed strictly for new wrestling RPers. I know there are a few "proving ground" guilds out there that are fairly inactive or even dead, so we could take one of the dead ones for this. What I'm thinking of is having a place where:

-Everyone is on equal footing in regard to this kind of RP.
-They are all in one place, making it easier to track progress.
-They can get feedback from us about their character, promos, in-ring work, etc.

I agree with Astrid, though; its difficult to find new RPers that want to do this, since most are already members of some eFed.

Going to the idea of something for only new rp'ers so we can have them all in one place and such: See FWD

Actually I came from a superhero roelplaying guild. And I adjusted I think kind of well. I also have a person in my guild EGW that came form the same guild. He is a rookie, and needs to learn some(Just like me), but i think he is adjusting a little better. I forgot his username but I know who he plays.

We need less guilds like Killa's. Those guilds where it is easy to get in and you will get an automatic title shot regardless of how your skills are is will just get a horrible rookie all high-up on themselves, and it wont be good for business.
PostPosted: Thu Jul 21, 2011 5:25 pm

Doesn't help that people are always asking for title shots saying they 'need them' *cough* Cyrus *cough*

True, Some people do chase titles, but I think the emphasis should be taken off titles, yes people like them but why base rping, mainly off titles. Like My character is a rookie trying to get big, but he has never really mention a title.

Nobody needs a title. That'd be a instant push down the ranks if it were someone saying that to me.

What you need is to not take yourselves so seriously. Its a game. A made up fantasy at that. You're pretending to be a wrestler. And how is a wrestlers worth based? On titles. So yes they are a VERY important factor in everything and they are in fact NEEDED. They make a character look good And make people especially the newbies.feel good about their character. If I joined a guild andbyou told me there were no titles I would quit. Its stupid. I personally don't care if a person's post look bad, because it makes mine look that much better with les effort.

there are certain characters, you know, that don't need titles. i think the point is that some people need to stop concentrating solely on titles and concentrate more on establishing their character. while titles should be a goal, it should not be necessary to the basis of the character, and no character should come into a federation, completely new, and demand title shots
