CAAAAAAAAAAAAAT! No. 300

Poster: Little Dog

Message: He's asleep! He's asleep! And there's a cat! A cat, and it won't go away, it has my bone and it won't go away. If he was up he could scare it away, but he isn't. Heeeeelp!

Summary: Those stupid dogs aren't always following that Hollywood guy. Apparently, the little dog found out how to write letters. Are you wondering what's got the little dog so wound up?

It's a Skitty.

It's a cute Skitty. She has such a cute meow. Loves milk. And she's creamy brown. Maybe you'd be doing her a favor if you caught her. She'll probably give no resistance if you fought her...But it seems she only gets scared when the big dog "Woof"s at her. She stiffens up, bug eyed and fur standing on end and falls to her side with a little scream like "EEEEEEEEEEK!"

Gotta wake the big dog up somehow, I guess. And the little dog won't be satisfied unless you do it his way. And he's a stupid dog.

Opposition: Only waking up the big dog. Heck, he may wake up and the little dog could talk to him, go back to sleep and the little dog would be back to square one.

Location: Right now, they're on the outskirts of Lilycove. You'll find them in an alley.

Pokemon: If you can get the big dog to scare that little cat (and it'll take awhile), you can snag it.

Rewards: I don't think you'll want anything those dogs have to offer. And they'll definitely offer you...something.

Shirubā flew into Lilycove on his hoverboard and looked down. "Everybody's gotta start somewhere," he said, scratching his head. "It's not everyday you find a Skitty wandering about. Think you can handle that Cinder." His Cyndaquil looked down nervously and Shirubā patted her on the head to cheer her up. "You'll be fine," he reassured. "Right Wuu?" His Wooper flinched when it heard Shirubā and turned to him, smiling nervously and nodding. Apparently he had been day dreaming again.

"We'll have to work on that," Shirubā said with a deep sigh. "Let's get back to the search. I was told that the poster of this mission was a scrawny brown Growlithe that could talk. He should be with a large, fat, Arcanine. Look for one or the other." They both nodded, though Cinder seemed nervous about it and Wuu didn't even seem to hear it. Shirubā sighed and kept looking down. By now they had gotten to the outskirts of Lilycove and still couldn't find them.

"Growlithe!" Shirubā called. "Arcanine! I'm looking for a talking Growlithe and Arcanine! I'm responding to the poster you put up!" At first there was no answer. However, after a few seconds, Shirubā heard a barking from below. The sound waked Wuu from the trance and startled Cinder enough to make her jump. They quickly flew down to the source, going into an alley. It was in there that they found the scrawny Growlithe, looking around nervously. "It's good you're here," he said when Shirubā got off the hoverboard.

"I'm guessing you already know the problem." Shirubā nodded and put the hoverboard in the case straped to his back. He wasn't really surprised that the Growlithe could talk. Lots of Pokemon could learn how to do that. "Basically there's a Skitty that you can't get rid of," he said, looking at the nervous Cinder.

"It keeps stealing from you and there's nothing you can do about it. Only Arcanine can scare it away, but he won't wake up. So you want us to wake him up. What I don't get is why you would rather us just take the Skitty of your hands." The Growlithe growled and Shirubā dropped the subject, looking around. "So where is this Arcanine?" he asked, only seeing trash cans. Wuu looked around, finally paying attention, buy couldn't find anything. Cinder didn't see anything either.

"He's right here," Growlithe said, pointing behind a nearby trash cans. Shirubā went over and looked behind it to see a fat Arcanine, snoring loudly. "So where's that Skitty?" Shirubā asked. Growlithe pointed behind Shirubā to a small closed trash can. Turning around, Shirubā saw a small Skitty, meowing in greeting. She was laping up milk that had probably been given to her by a civilian. When Shirubā looked closer, he saw a small yellow bone behind her. "We'll do what we can," he said, scratching his head.

He was reluctant to scare a harmless Skitty, but this dog was to stupid to know that there was a better way. How could a Pokemon able to speak be so stupid. Scratching his head, Shirubā turned back to the Arcanine and shook it to try to get it awake. When nothing happened, he shook harder, still to no avail. Shirubā instead tried a different approach, slapping the Arcanine repeadedely. However, the dog only yawned to the attack. "We need water Wuu," he said to his Wooper. "Water Gun this guy."

He nodded and opened his mouth, letting out a stream of water. The attack made the Arcanine finally open its eyes. Growlithe smiled and went over to talk to the Arcanine, but it quickly fell back to sleep. Skitty meowed from behind and yawned, laying down on the bone and falling asleep. Growlithe sighed and Shirubā kept trying, using Cinder's tackle and Wuu's water gun. However, each attempt was unsuccesful. "Do we have to knock it out?" Shirubā said, popping a vein. "What will it take to wake this guy up.

You're a Growlithe so you must know a move or two." Growlithe thought for a second and shook its head. "All I know are starter moves," he said, scrapping its paw against the ground. "Bite and Roar. But Roar won't do a thing against that Skitty and my Bite is too weak." Shirubā scratched his head and thought for a moment. The only way to wake this one up would probably be an all out attack. "I want you to use Bite anyway Growlithe," he said to the scrawny one.

"Cinder use tackle, and Wuu use Water Gun. In that order. Don't worry Growlithe, Arcanine can take a lot since he didn't even wake up when I shouted in his ear." Growlithe hesitated for a momment before nodding, turning to the Arcanine. Cinder looked on nervously as Growlithe bit down on Arcanine's tail. After it let go and jumped back, she launched at Arcanine and slammed into it with a tackle. When she jumped back, Wuu finally got his chance to attack. Opening his mouth, he let out a powerful stream of water, sending Arcanine backwards into a trash can.

This was enough to finally get Arcanine to open its eyes and yawn in a waking up fashion. Skitty woke up when she heard the crashing and shivered when she saw Arcanine open its eyes. Growlithe went over to Arcanine and began talking to it, finally telling it of the situation. Arcanine turned to Skitty angrily and opened its mouth, letting out an angry woofing at the small feline. Her eyes widened in fear and her fur stood up as she screamed in fear, fainting. "Wow," Shirubā said, looking at the unconcious Skitty. "Looks like my job's done here." Shirubā quickly took out his Snag Machine, just in case the Skitty was owned, and grabbed the Skitty, turning back toward the Growlithe and Arcanine.

By now Growlithe had gotten the bone back and was chewing on it hungrily. "Before you go," Arcanine said, going behind the trash can. "Let me give you your reward." Shirubā shook his head quickly and took out his hoverboard. "No thanks," he said as he jumped on. "The Skitty's enough." Arcanine came from behind the trash can and nodded before Shirubā flew off.

That Brawler Guy
A Pain in the Grass. No. 001

Poster: Youngster John

“In our small town here, of Pallet, there has been a lone pokemon attacking trainers who have received their first pokemon from Professor Oak. The reason that the pokemon is doing this is...well...I don't know. The pokemon is a Bulbasaur, just...a regular Bulbasaur. I don't care what you do with the pokemon, just take it away so the new trainers aren't beaten when they leave for the first time on their journey. It's obvious that the Bulbasaur is stronger than the pokemon given to the new trainers by Professor Oak, giving it easy wins. Please, find a way to get the Bulbasaur to leave one way or another. Again I say, I don't care what you do with it, just take it away from our town.”

Now, this is what is stated on the poster. To make a long story short, there's a Bulbasaur that is attacking the new trainers of Pallet. The poster just wants you to get rid of it. You can do what you want with it, catch it, drive it away, or give it to someone. It doesn't matter to me, just complete the bounty.

-Objective:
Get the Bulbasaur away from Pallet .

-Pokemon:
Bulbasaur if you want to catch it, or a pokemon egg may be given on the mission

-Rewards:
Depends on quality of mission.

Shirubā, Cinder, and the new addition, Kat, flew into Pallet town and jumped off the hoverboard. They had been sent on a mission to rid the town of a certain grass-type nuisance. A Bulbasaur that was attacking the new trainers right after they started there journey. It supposedly was stronger than the beginners, though that was probably because they were to inexperienced. Nonetheless, Shirubā knew that he needed to train to beat it. However, before he could begin, he had to access its power. Meaning, they had to battle it, though that was the easy part. The hard part was finding it in the first place.

"Looks like we're going undercover," Shirubā said to Cinder and Kat. "Here's the plan. Cinder, I want you to pretend to be a new starter Pokemon, going into the woods with your new trainer. Meanwhile, me and Kat will be hiding above, watching to find out how strong this Bulbasaur is. After Bulbasaur mops up the floor with you, me and Kat will step in to save you, scaring it off so we can get you healed. If that doesn't work, we may be in for a fight. I just hope you don't get beat too Kat. In that event, we'll have no choice but to fall back and prepare for another attack, understand."

Kat meowed, saluting with her tail, but Cinder didn't answer, looking at the ground. Shirubā kneeled down so that he was eye level to her. "You'll do fine," he reassured, patting her on the head. "I'm counting on you partner." Cinder looked up at Shirubā in surprise, still a bit nervous. She gulped before nodding turning towards Kat. The brown Skitty, patted Cinder with her tail to reassure her, meowing. Shirubā stood up and put away the hoverboard.

Turning, he began to walk around town, looking for someone who could be their bait. However, it seemed someone hard to find starter trainers. Most of them were at the PC on account of the Bulbasaur, but they eventually found a small girl wiling to do the job. "I'll do it," she said without a moments hesitation. "I'm not afriad to tangle with the likes of him." Shirubā smirked and picked up Cinder, handing her to the girl. He kept his Pokeball so he could return Cinder when she lost. "You know the plan," Shirubā said, pointing to the woods.

"Let's start." The girl nodded and ran towards the woods, Cinder close behind. Kat climbed up to Shirubā's shoulder before Shirubā dashed after them, going in a different direction so not to draw attention. He quickly jumped from tree to tree until he came to where Cinder and the trainer were. They followed them from above, staying a few feet away. However, it didn't appear that the Bulbasaur would show up. Maybe it was just a myth. The Pokemon Center might just be full of stupid trainers. Better yet, the Bulbasaur could have ran off after the easy victories, in search of a good match.

However, the assumptions were quickly put to rest when out of the Shadows came a blue-green figure, slamming into the girl. He was sent to the ground hard, sliding across the floor. 'Found you,' Shirubā thought when the girl struggled to her feet. 'Time to record.' He quickly took out his Snag, checking the Bulbasaurs moves. "Go Cyndaquil," the girl ordered, pointing to the Bulbasuar. "Leer that Bulbasaur." Cinder nodded and glared at Bulbasaur, its flame growing.

Bulbasaur responded by hitting Cinder with a powerful Vine Whip, sending her backwards. She skidded across the floor and shook off the pain, ready for another try. "Tackle," the girl ordered. Cinder nodded and launched at Bulbasaur again, being stopped by another Vine Whip. The second one was powerful enough to knock Cinder out. When he saw she was unconcious, the Bulbasaur ran off, ruining the rest of the plan. "Crap," Shirubā said, jumping down. "Thanks for the help, we'll take it from here. Even so, you might not want to leave Pallet until we return." The girl looked at Cinder before nodding and running off.

Shirubā quickly returned Cinder and jumped back in the trees, leaping towards the PC. When they arrived, they gave Nurse Joy Cinder, allowing her to work her magic and heal the starter. When she gave her back, Shirubā quickly let Cinder out her Pokeball. "You did good Cinder," Shirubā said, patting her on the head. "Now it's your show. Kat, we'll need you for training." Kat meowed, saluting with her tail, and Shirubā led them out of the PC.

Shirubā and Kat stood on the other side of Cinder, preparing to start the training. Taking out his SNAG, Shirubā scanned for moves Cinder could learn. "Here's one," Shirubā said, grabbing a nearby stick. "Smoke Screen. You simply open your mouth and let out a cloud of smoke. This would be useful in stealth type missions." Cinder looked at Shirubā in a confused way and he began to draw in the ground. He made a poorly drawn picture of Cinder using Smoke Screen.

Cinder may not have understood the drawing, but Kat seemed to get it, drawing an alternative version of it for Cinder with her tail top. To Shirubā's dismay, the drawing was exactly like Cinder, as if Kat was an artist. "I don't need this," Shirubā said, turning around in anger. "Let her help you." Kat sighed and went over to stand next to Cinder, helping her with the technique. Cinder nodded nervously and opened her mouth, trying to release the black cloud. However, the only thing that came out was a hungry burp. Kat sighed and patted Cinder reassuringly with her tail.

"Looks like we'll need to refuel first," Shirubā said, turning around with his arms folded. "You guys stay here and I'll go get some food. Kat, you're in charge while I'm gone." Kat nodded and Shirubā dashed out of the woods, heading towards the nearest Pokemon Store. Meanwhile, Cinder kept trying the technique, not getting close at all. Lucky for her, Kat had seen the technique before, so she explained it more in depth, the way only a Pokemon could. Cinder listened to the explanation intently and was about to try again when they were startled by a rustling in the bushes. Kat quickly moved in front of Cinder in a protective way, ready for battle. However, the one that came out was someone Kat knew she couldn't take without Shirubā's guidance.

Out of the bushes came the same Bubasaur they had been preparing to fight. Kat and Cinder both flinched, a drop of sweat forming on their faces. The Bulbasaur growled and launched toward them with a tackle. Kat responded with a tackle of her own, colliding with Bulbasaur. They both were sent backwards from the force of the blow, skidding across the floor. However, Bulbasaur quickly reacted with a powerful Vine Whip. Kat didn't get up in time and was hit by the grass-type attack, being sent across the floor again. She struggled to a standing position, panting. Cinder growled and let her flames rise in anger, jumping in front of Kat.

Bulbasaur growled again and released a stream of poisonous liquid. Cinder gasped and tried to move, but wasn't fast enough to dodge. She was drenched in the poisonous liquid, wincing and screeching in pain. Kat clenched her teeth in anger and released a loud Growl. Bulbasaur flinched and ran off, knowing the damage had been done. Kat sighed and turned to Cinder, going over to try to help. Shirubā came back a few moments later carrying some berries, being drawn by the screaming. "What's wrong," Shirubā said, racing towards Cinder.

He saw that there was a mysterious purple liquid all over her. "We better wash that off," Shirubā said, putting the food down. "Luckily I've got a healing potion right here." Shirubā reached in his Pocket and threw out Wuu, letting him wash off the poison with a water gun. Cinder winced as the water came on her, getting pain out of water attacks since she was a fire type. When Wuu was done, Shirubā took out a small spray bottle, spraying Cinder to heal her. Cinder screeched gleefully to show that the potion had worked.

"Close one," Shirubā said, sliding the food over to Cinder. "I was on my way to buy food when I found these in the nearby trees. These are better for you anyway. You'll need to eat and rest. Don't worry, Kat, Wuu, and me will take care of that Bulbasaur if it comes anywhere near you." Cinder looked at Shirubā in a confused way, but didn't say anything, eating the berries. While she did that, Shirubā began to train Wuu. "The next available technique is Mud Shot," Shirubā told Wuu.

"Its a move where you open your mouth and release a powerful mud ball. Kat, could you draw that?" Kat nodded and erased the earlier drawing with her tail, beginning to make a new one. When she was done, she had made a perfect picture of Wuu, who was spitting out a Mud Ball. Wuu nodded and opened his mouth, trying to shoot out the Mud Ball. However, he instead used Water Gun, shooting out a stream of water. Shirubā sighed and Wuu tried again, this time getting a small dust cloud out. Kat patted Wuu on the back reassuringly and pointed to the drawing.

Wuu nodded and kept trying, getting better with each attempt. Kat kept reassuring him as he did it, trying to get his spirits up. Meanwhile, Shirubā went over to check on Cinder, seeing she was recovering from the attack. By now she was finishing off the berries hungrily. "Looks like you're recovering," Shirubā said, patting her on the head. "Ready to get back to training." Cinder nodded and Shirubā turned to see Wuu finally use the Mud Shot, sending a ball of mud crashing into a nearby tree. Kat smiled and cheered gleefully.

"Good job Wuu," Shirubā said when he saw Wuu use it again and again. "Now we can get back to Cinder training and then Kat's." Kat flinched and turned slowly to Shirubā, obviously afraid of the training. "Alright Cinder, Smoke Screen. Kat, come with me so you won't get caught." Kat nodded and climbed onto Shirubā's shoulder. After he returned Wuu, Shirubā jumped into a tree, watching from above. Cinder opened her mouth tried to use the technique, letting out a gum ball-sized cloud of smoke. She sighed and sat back disappointedly before trying again. This time, she got a larger cloud, though still not even close to the smoke screen.

Cinder didn't give up and kept trying, getting better with each try. As the moments went by, Cinder started to get the hand of it. After a while, she had a small stream of smoke, like that of a water hose. "You're doing great Cinder!" Shirubā called from above. "Don't give up!" Cinder nodded, getting serious as she continued. As the time passed, Cinder eventually had the technique licked. She smiled victoriously.

"You're not done yet," Shirubā said, jumping down. "Wuu knows techniques up to level 9. So, you learn all techniques up to level 10. Kat, you learn all techniques up to level 8. But not right now. We'll deal with that after we deal with the Bulbasaur." Cinder and Kat exchanged glances, not wanting another encounter with it. "Here's the plan," Shirubā explained.

Cinder walked through the woods alone, seperated from Kat and the others. She let out a teriffied shriek at every sound, shivering. Suddenly, she heard a rustling in the bushes. Turning, she saw the dangerous Bulbasaur come out, charging at her without a moments hesitation. However, she had no interest in fighting. Jumping out of the way, she let out a dark Smoke Screen, blinding Bulbasaur. Suddenly, meowing could be heard in front of it. When the smoke cleared, Kat was standing right in front of Bulbasaur. He flinched and Kat smirked.

Bringing her paws together, she suddenly made a powerful clap. The force of it sent out a powerful shock wave, sending Bulbasaur flying. Cinder quickly readied herself and slammed into Bulbasaur with a powerful tackle. It screetched in pain as he was sent flying towards a tree. Bulbasaur reacted quickly by using Vine Whip to grab onto two tree branches. Acting like a sling shot, it pulled itself towards Cinder. She braced herself for impact. However, at the last moment, Cinder leaped out of the way, making Bulbasaur slam into the rock behind her.

"Yes," a voice came from above. Suddenly, a Pokeball was sent towards Bulbasaur, sucking him up. The light flashed repeatedly before stopping. Suddenly, Shirubā flew down from the sky, landing next to the Pokeball. "My plan worked perfectly," Shirubā said as he picked it up. He thought back to the perfect plan he had made. "Cinder," Shirubā remembered he had said.

"You're going to be a helpless Pokemon that wonders away from us, watching out fearfully for the Bulbasaur. When it takes the bait, I want you to release a smoke screen to blind it. That will signal us to jump in. While you had 'ran away', we will have flew into the air following close behind. When we see the Smoke Screen, Kat will leap down and send Bulbasaur flying with Fake Out. Next, Cinder will tackle Bulbasaur and send it towards a tree. It will most likely come back to attack one of you. When that happens, make sure you're in front of a boulder or tree."

Cinder gulped and Kat meowed enthusiastically. "As it attacks," Shirubā continued, "I want you to dodge at the last moment so it slams into the tree or rock. I'll handle the rest. If it uses Venoshock or Vine Whip, dodge and double team it with multiple tackles. Got it." Cinder nodded and ran off. Shirubā on the other hand took out his hoverboard and flew off.

"Looks like we're done here," Shirubā said, looking back to his Pokemon. "Let's go get that reward." Cinder and Kat nodded, jumping onto the hoverboard. Turning, Shirubā and made the hoverboard take off out of the woods.
