Spark of Madness
Nice to meet you! I'm Spark of Madness, but most of my friends call me Blue (as in the Blue Fairy from Pinocchio). I got super excited when I saw you had a Beauty and the Beast wedding. I would love to do that, but I'm afraid that I would go over the top and make it cheesy instead of classy and romantic. I am, however, going to use an instrumental version of "Beauty and the Beast" in place of the Wedding March song. I would love to hear more about your wedding and how you pulled off the theme!
Hi! It's great to meet you! Sorry about the delay. Life was busy for a little bit.
sweatdrop That's great you want to do that theme, too! Most people want to do Cinderella, so it's nice to see that someone else wants to do it.
Actually, I did use the instrumental song, so that would work well!
xd We used a sapphire blue and white color scheme. I had blue roses and white lilies in my bouquet. All the men's ties were sapphire blue and the bridesmaids picked out whatever style of dress they wanted in that same color.
We did a rose ceremony, which I
highly recommend. The couple, right after the vows are said, exchange a rose with each other as their first gift (real red ones). There is a "story" for the officiate to read that explains the meaning behind it as you are doing it. (Type "rose ceremony wedding" into Google and you'll find it).
At the reception, I picked little themes here and there to decorate the tables with (i.e. those really tiny children's books, clocks, candelabras, feather dusters that looked like Babette, tea cups, etc.).
For the cake, well...this might be cheesy, but I didn't care. My mother used to decorate cakes, so she made one that looked similar to the castle. Cheesy? Probably, but I wanted something unique.
I hope I didn't overwhelm you with my wedding ramblings.
blaugh If you have any more questions about it, feel free to ask. I hope to see you around the forums!
