"A sound soul....
....dwells in a sound mind.....
.....and a sound body"
....dwells in a sound mind.....
.....and a sound body"
There is a balance. With every positive there is a negative. With every new ability, or strength, you gain a new disadvantage. The means to become strong, is through using many abilities, covering each one of your weaknesses. But, covering yourself from all angles opens up another weakness- you enclose yourself in a shell, leaving yourself for an attack from below, or to rot from the inside. Every weakness there is a strength and every positive there is a negative. Be it mental, physical, or a societal- there are faults, and strengths. They balance each other. Without them there would be no emotions.
Death City has grown to new heights in within these days of peace since the fall of "The Heretic" witch Arachne and "The Kishin" Asura. Eighty years has past since the day Asura was awaken and was killed by Maka Albarn; with his last moments of life Asura told Maka something about madness, the first thing he mention was that everyone has it and the second was that he was not the first to seek into madness. Lord Death did not find anything hidden in the words of Asura, so he ignored the dying warning smile of madness. Twenty years later Death City was attacked by an unknown threat, the DWMA and Death City took on many casualties but none effected the city as much as the Death of Lord Death himself. Following after his father's death, Death the Kid took on the lead of Death City in the name of his father and as his birthright became the new Lord Death. For years Kid searched for this threat but there was no sign of who or what it was or where it vanished to. Like a wave of darkness it vanished into the new light of the city. The light of a new death, Death the Kid's light.
Realism, or reality, is bandaged from weakness. Without pain, or grievances, these characters we create are simply pieces of our mind(s)- nothing more, nothing less. If they are all strong, willing to die, and always fighting for what is determined right by a outside force- they're not representations of reality. What generates reality is indecision, or mistakes, from our own psyches. Since Kid's take over Death City has thrived in the light, the DWMA has become what Kid believes to be perfect, as his perfection became a reality it instantly was turned back into a world of illusion and wishing. The world is not perfect, and will never be. Darkness found its way back into the heart of the city once again this time in the form of previous students of the DWMA, a Meister, a weapon, and witch. These three stood at the foot of Death and issued a warning: "The time of light shall be covered in darkness, the rivers of life shall be drowned in a sea blood, tears of joy will be mistaken for tears of pain, and while you sleep a the laughter of true madness will take your head before the dawn of the crimson moon. The true madness will arise. We've recovered him and his madness is like none other you've ever faced."
The three were never heard from since that day. Months after their mysterious disappearance whispers came from the East and the West of the awakening of the original man who fell into madness. The awakening of The Devil King himself Satan. Kid couldn't believe the rumors and went to check on the seal to Hell himself, he found the three bodies of the ones who challenged him, their bodies was drained of every liquid and their blood was written across the gate leading to the underworld. The chains of light where broken, and the key of darkness was missing. True madness was released in the world. Kid only had one thing on his mind, seal Satan back in Hell before his pure madness escaped through the entire universe.
In a world with only strengths, there is zero weaknesses. Without weaknesses no one would ever need protection, or assistance. We would be perfect. Then, we would separate from each other, breaking society from within, creating a new weakness within each other and within ourselves. Who needs each other, when you can sustain yourself easily without much effort, since you're perfect?
Therefore you need weakness to bind people together. With each weakness, there is strength that you gain from it. If your weak, you seek other weak people to gather your strength, and take down a stronger force. Think of many ants taking down an arachnid- with one ant, he may succeed, but he will probably be destroyed with a quick stomp of the spider's frontal legs or by the quick slam of the rear end. With strength in numbers, though, you rush in and defeat your opponent- fitting the need of society.
You NEED weakness, so you can be strong. No one will ever be perfect. If someone some how become a perfect entity, they have left the land of the living, and lost their main weakness: Mortality.
That is the cycle of the elements.
