For many people who work with crystals there is a certain energy that is associated with each and every crystal. And each crystal is designated as being associated with a particular aspect of this energy (healing, prosperity, protection, and so on).
Where do you suppose this crystal energy originates from?
Is it an aspect of Deity that empowers each crystal?
Is it a type of spirit guide that is associated with each aspect of the particular crystal?
Is it some other energy all together?
By understanding the source of such a power we can possibly bring ourselves closer to becoming more proficient at utilizing such energy.

I am of the opinion that a crystal's "energy" emanates not from the crystal, but from the one using them. Crystals are just ricks, very pretty rocks, yes, but rocks non the less. And rocks do not conduct energy. Any sort of "energy" or "power" that people gain from crystals is more than likely coming from the person themselves or is a product of their own imagination.
For this reason I do not use crystals in my practice.

I rarely work with crystals but I do believe that they have an energy all their own. I think every rock, tree and creature has it's own energy. The example I must point out, if a person is into the supernatural/paranormal, certain stones: limestone and quartz, are linked to residual hauntings because the stones conduct energy. This energy then traps other energies and images from the past. Usually highly emotional events. And well it is a scientific fact that quartz conducts energy that is used for scientific purposes such as radio waves . So I don't see why the energy that the stones conduct in a scientific way cannot be used in other ways.
As for the source, I personally view the source and the main supreme source that we are all connected to and gain energy from. I don't view the source as a particular deity or spirit, it is an all encompassing source.

I don't personally believe in crystals having power of their own, at least not associated energy. I believe everything has energy/is composed of energy and while crystals may be better at focusing their energy, I don't think it is any different than that found in anything else. To me, energy is uniform, there is only one kind, it is up to the person using it to determine how it will be used.
