Nolens Volens sighed in relief, finding that she was finally alone again and away from that green mare that demanded her help. She glanced back down to the flowers clutched with her tail, and checked on their condition. The vibrant red flowers seemed like they were in satisfactory condition, but she assumed if it took her any longer, the flowers might start taking damage and start wilting. A frown appeared on the mare’s face, upset by the turn of events. She did not know if she could take another distraction in getting to her caretaker.
The forest edge was almost in sight. The sky blue mare looked faintly hopeful that it was in sight, and her stressful day would be over, but she could not help but feel sad that her momentary “freedom” was going to come to an end once she came within distance of her caretaker. Her eyes were a much more vibrant hue of blue, making her coat appear more gray in comparison to her eyes. They appeared upset and defeated at the thought of returning to a caretaker, but this was her life and she had to make the best of it. Returning to the task at hand, the mare returned to hiding in the bushes and taking a more cautious route of traveling. She was hoping she would be able to keep out of visible sight despite her coat not blending well with the foliage around her.

hanging gallow It rung. The white mare's eyes lit up with a wicked grin as the blood started to seep down her ears and blossoming across her neck like a crimson flower and the soft tinkling noise of bells. The small wings fluttered with excitement as the black eyes peered around looking for any sight of movement, however she was at a disadvantage. Narrowing her eyes Tink only let a few verses slip under her breathe encouraging whatever it was not to blend in such wretched foliage just the mere thought of letting something slip through her grasp was not allowable. Tink lived to see the last moments of someone's life lingering in their eyes just the fear of knowing what they had being left behind sent joy fluttering through her heart.
She started to move slowly, looking for any hint or sign of another creatures present lurking and her carefulness was rewarded when she caught a glimpse of a grey to blue colored coat moving in between the brush. Tink's wings fluttered again, that had to be it the creature that was going to die today her bells had told her so therefore it had to come true. She wondered how it was going to die, maybe it would be slaughtered and its carcass spread across the ground or maybe it would just curl up and die. The latter was rather a disappointing show in the mare's own opinion, there was nothing exciting by something merely dying from a disease or old age. Nevertheless she followed it keeping herself in a position where she could watch and approach it.

Nolens Volens continued on her way. The edge of the forest was now within yards, and she was getting hopeful that she would reach it without any disturbances. It appeared that the stallion she had recently met was wrong about the area, and nothing has tried to hunt her yet. She was safe, for now, at least. The smaller than average mare did not expect anything to happen to her, but she was still wary of her surroundings. It was just a matter of time until she reached the clearing beyond the forest.

hanging gallow Tink let her eyes linger for a moment before she made her way around bringing herself along the edge of the woods, setting herself between an exit out and the creature. The excitement was almost too much to bear as her body began to shake with delight, she should die soon, soon!
But the creature hadn't, well at least still hadn't and the mare's patience was starting to fray. Tink had little interest in waiting so as the creature approached even closer she called out to it, "You are going to die today do you know that little one?" She replied her voice as sweet as a small song bird courting its love from the branches of an apple tree.

Nolens was about to breach the edge of the forest before she heard a voice from above. Her ears flicked back and her head lowered. Her eyes peered up to see who was talking to her before her head lowered. “W-what are you talking about? Why today?” She asked in a nervous and wavering voice, wondering at the same time if she was going to get in trouble by her caretaker if she returned home right at that moment. Would her caretaker end her life? Why would she? “H-how do you know? I k-know I’m going to die one day, but why now?” She asked, not really happy with this news. She had yet to gain freedom from her caretaker, and she was she was being told she was going to die today? How could this happen?

hanging gallow A grin settled on the mare's face as the blue creature was curious, weren't they all?
"Because the bells said so, they rang and they only do so when death has entered this world seeking the soul that it desires. So tell me little one how is it that you are going to die? Will something rip your throat apart or will I have to help death and do it myself, oh I wonder don't you?" Tink her voice still as sweet as a mother coaxing her foal to her side. The black pit like eyes still remained pinned on her now so called prey as she walked slowly in a semi circle around her.

Nolens Volens did not like the look on the mare’s face. Her aqua blue eyes took in the mare and everything she was saying to her. Bells? Death? She had no clue what the mare was talking about. She did not see any bells around, or could not hear any bells. She swallowed out of nervousness, feeling her throat get dry. “I d-don’t know how I am going to die.” She said softly, her voice wavering. She seemed to shrink herself and point her back spikes at the mare walking slowly around her. Now, she believed Jii’s words, and wondered if the mare really intended to kill her. She could only think how her caretaker would take her death. Would she be mad that she had died? Would she care less that she died? Or, would she rejoice in her death? Her ears flicked back as her eyes started to water. “I d-don’t want to die.” She said in a barely audible voice.

hanging gallow "Oh!" The mare let out a laugh that sounded like a set of soft bells ringing, "Oh my dear no one wants to die but it's really not a choice now is it. We wouldn't want to change fate now would we? I mean I couldn't merely just let one little soul who was suppose to leave this world stay that wouldn't be fair to all the others now would it?" She flicked her tail as she paused in her words oh the little one was starting to cry how delightful! Tink almost wanted to take a moment a licked the salty liquid from the mare's cheeks but she knew if she dared to approach her any closer than where she stood she ran the risk of her prey fleeing.
"Oh dear little one don't cry! I'm sure you won't feel anything when it's all over and I reassure you that it's not as bad as it seems some are even happy to die." Tink replied her voice soft as if she was telling the mare a secret that she hadn't shared to others before keeping an eye on the spikes she had dared to point at her.

Watching the mare carefully, the smaller than average mare shook her head. “H-how are you even certain I’m going to die? I didn’t even hear the bells you talked about.” The mare frowned at the lighter mare, continuing to use her only line of defense between her and the mare, her line of spikes down her back. The mare kept her head lowered, and did not know what to say. The lighter mare seemed so certain that she was going to die. What could she do? She knew she had two options: fight or flight, and she didn’t know how to fight. She tried to see any opportunities to escape, and was not really sure where to run off.
Taking her chances, the mare took off in a random direction, which happened to be towards the forest again in hopes that she would lose the other mare in the foliage.

hanging gallow "Oh why do they always try to run?" Tink replied with a grin on her face as she took off after the mare, leaping over larger parts of the foliage with ease. The ink black eyes watched continued to watch the grey like body move as Tink continued to get closer, most failed to realize that the small little wings behind her head and stunted wings on her back gave her the advantage of a much lighter body. Moving in a rather graceful like manner the mare took a right as if to appear to leave the trail of her prey letting her body disappear from sight.

Nolens Volens did not want to look back at all. The mare kept her gaze in front of her in case she came across a protruding tree root that would cause her to fall. She had no idea where she was going, but she needed to get away from the other mare. Some time in between running away from the edge of the forest and now, she had loosen her grip on her tail and her flowers were probably scattered along the trail. She shook her head, knowing that she would need to pick new flowers, if she was even going to last the rest of the day to pick the flowers. This day was just not working out for her. The mare continued to run, but was quickly to tire. It did not sound like the mare was behind her anymore, but she did not know if the other mare was just messing with her. Her pace slowed down with her stamina was running on its final push. She was panting and trying to figure out a solution to her problem, but nothing was coming to her. Oh, this was not her day!

hanging gallow She could hear the mare's panting knowing that she wouldn't last much longer running at the speed that she had started meanwhile Tink was still moving with ease. She licked her lips as she gauged from the noise how much further she would have to move ahead from her to be able to surprise her, oh and she couldn't go empty handed this time. She kept an eye out looking for some sort of branch or rock anything that she could use to gorge the pretty blue eyes out with.
Fate was in her favor today as she managed to snag a broken limp that was long enough with a sharp point broken off at the end, really Tink needed to get herself a decent blade one day. The mare had finally left letting the forest fall into a deep slumber of silence, it was what Jii had wanted so why did he feel rather restless in where he stood. Stretching out his one full wing he quietly moved in the direction he had last seen the mare's figure unsure of why he felt the need to follow so far behind her with no intention of actually catching up to her and chatting needlessly. Nevertheless he continued to walk as the soft glow of his eyes casted hints of light along the shadowed paths.

Nolens Volens was still panting lightly, but at a lower frequency than before. Her eyes darted from one side to another, still cautious of her surroundings. She was tired of running. She had ran earlier when being chased by that green mare, and now, she was running away from a pink mare that told her she was going to die today. The mare continued walking forward, waiting for the moment the lighter mare would appear again and she would have to take off in another run.

hanging gallow Jii flattened his ears as he grew close to the sound of something attempting to catch its breath, he merely assumed that it was some sort of small creature being chased and cornered by something larger. He didn't bother picking up pace but kept his slow trot as he continued to make his way, whatever it was had little concern on his part he was not some mere protector to the weak.
Yet when the noise grew close enough for him to see he found that it was the same odd mare from earlier. Jii knotted his brows as he looked at her, "why are you still here?"Tink glared, a new presences had stepped in her way of her prey however he was not enough to convince her to leave. She grew closer to watch and to hear yet she made sure her that she remained hidden, she didn't want the pretty little thing to bolt. Maybe he would help? The guest did not appear to be something of beauty, something more of a wretched state with the nostalgic scent of rotting flesh. Oh how amusing this was starting to get!
