The sun was just sinking below the horizon, only half of it's fiery body was left visible to the lions resting under the lone tree on the savanna. Aagiro was panting slightly, the last licks of heat still strong on her memory but also because she'd just been hunting again. She did not look pleased, either. Her tail lashed behind her and her gaze was slightly narrowed but she was just staring out toward the horizon instead of looking at her companion, who was now having his fill of her hunt. She was growing very tired of having to stop every few hours so that Princess could fill his freaking belly.
"We're never going to get there if you keep making me hunt like this, Princess." She growled out, finally shooting a glance at him. Oh, did someone want to make it to the desert so that Nen could win the bet? That sure was what it sounded like. Really she was just growing exhausted by the time night fell because of his demands, and she wanted to travel at least part of the night. But it seemed they would have to wait to continue their journey when the great fire ball sunk fully beyond their sights. Her dark eyes returned back to the tall grasses, which were much more pleasant to gaze upon than his stupid, smug face. The land was bathed in a soft orange glow, everything seemed like shadows with how dark objects had grown in the light of the sinking sun. She smiled slightly as she watched a few glow bugs light up. First over there, and then a little further on their way.... it was like they disappeared from the world for just a few seconds before blinking back into existence. It must have been nice.

Ammon’nen actually wasn’t really eating the hunt that the female had killed, he was more so just digging his face in the carcass to make it look like he was stuffing his face. In reality, he was tired of eating. He had eaten more within the last moon than he had in the time he had lived in the ghostly pride. The female just needed to realize the star-pelted male wanted to just travel at night, when it was cooler, and the sun didn’t burn right through his blackened fur.
He pushed his muzzle in the meat, just ripping the organs to different sides to make it appear that there was significantly less than what was actually there. He lifted his head, flashing his gaze over to Aagiro before smirk. H licked his lips, cleaning the blood from his muzzle, before moving over to him.
“Sounds like you want to get there, Kitten. I guess that just means you want to spend more time with me.”

Her brow wrinkled and she huffed, tail flicking before she looked to him and just bared her teeth. That was what she thought of spending more time with him! She eyed him a moment longer to make sure he wasn't going to come any closer than he needed and then glanced to the beast he'd been 'feasting' on. They would have to move soon if they didn't want to run into hyenas or vultures. Surely their kind would be around soon, Aagiro was almost positive she could make a few out in the distance, bidding their time. She sat up suddenly, eyes narrowing as movement caught her attention. Damn this bloody lack of light, it played tricks on the eyes. It would have been much better if the sun was fully down, as it was easy to see in the night.
Her ears perked as she heard someone call out, and as the shadowy shape made it's way closer Aagiro was beginning to understand that it was another lioness. The greeting was friendly, but that didn't mean anything. Hell, if Princess here could trick her into some weird bet about birthing his freaking cubs than this woman could have very well been some evil goddess come to steal their souls. Her tail flicked as she watched, not greeting the other just yet.
Ah, she was here for the kill. It was fairly predictable though, the scent of blood would draw all sorts of characters by the time she and Princess were on the move again. She glanced to Nen for a moment and snorted. "I'm sure that's fine. Unless of course the Glutton here still hasn't had his fill." She spoke dryly, but her tone wasn't really for the older stranger as much as it was for Nen himself. She looked back to the other lioness, her muscles settling. "There's more than enough. He's already had a few rabbits as well as zebra. Even a few grubs." At the last bit she shot a glance to Nen, smirking.

Oh, look, there was an approaching lion! Now, if this female happened to be a male, certainly Nen would be blaming Aagiro for her scent attracting strangers. But it wasn’t. The newcomer was indeed a lady! And just by her call out, she was an elder one at that. The star male gave a small though genuine smile to the female, before speaking to her. “Good Evening, Miss,” he moved away from the kill, so the elder could get at the kill. “You certainly can, I am way to stuff to finish it!” Though, if they continued before the sun was fully down, Nen would be complaining that he was hungry, and would insist Aagiro hunt again for him.
Ammon’nen glared at his traveling frien---companio---acquaintance? He sure didn’t appreciate those grubs the female had caught for him when they had stopped earlier that day. When she wasn’t looking, he quickly had hid the bugs under his paws, so he would not have to endure eating them.

“You better tell my stomach that, dear. I can’t say what it is going to tell me once we start traveling again!”
At the older lady’s comment, Ammon’nen couldn’t help but smirk. Young couple…? Though they were far from the sort, hearing Kitten’s objection for the matter just made him giddy with excitement. Things could get quite interesting now!
“Oh, you are very welcome, Miss!” he said to the gray lioness. “There was plenty to go around!” His gray eyes turned towards Aagiro, keeping that devious little smirk directed right towards her. “Oh, Kitten! Don’t be so modest! We---as a couple---are delighted to share our meal. After all, wouldn’t want it to go to waste right.” Here was payback for all the Princess and Glutton comments Aagiro had made. “There’s no need to hide our relationship from a stranger!” Ammon’nen walked up to Aagiro, placing a paw around her shoulder as he pulled her closer to him. “Kitten here is shy when admitting our relationship,” he stated to the stranger.

Oho, what did we have here? Whilst munching, she paused to watch the pair with a small smirk on her lips, now this was interesting. A laid back smug male and a focused female frustrated with him. Calmly she gave a soft suprise 'Oh' of mock surprise, like dottery older females were want to do before that smile came to her muzzle yet again.
"Well, couple or not, you both make a fine pair." She commented casually before resting her paws on the carcass leisurely, this was certainly a time where she could eat and converse when company was -this- interesting. Licking one of her slightly bloodied paws, she looked to Aagiro and gave a soft, rolling shrug of her shoulders that dhisvelled some of the fireflies that tried to land on her back with little success now that the object they were trying to land on, they realised, was moving.
"I'm a wanderer mostly...I WAS from the Mistweaver's but...well...I lost touch." Those were memories she didn't need right now, but while they were on the subject, she kept up her smile and gestured to the pair. "And you two? Where are you two from?"

Fiften... sixteen... ... nineteen... or was that number twenty? She was counting the fireflies with a sulky look on her face. She was going to kill Nen. She was going to murder him in his sleep the next time they rested... she was sure of it this time. She threw a glance his way. "Stop that!" She hissed, though she also did not want to act like a complete jerk in front of the older lioness... because it was rude, really. But to have him lie like that! Oh his jokes were growing painfully ridiculous! She'd turned back to the fireflies before he was done speaking, her mood soured. She hadn't realized he was going to actually come over to her but when she was aware of his presence she almost clambered to all four paws. "Get away from me!" She hissed this even more quietly than the command that he stop messing around with his words.
The way her fur fluffed up in an attempt to make her form larger and make her look more intimidating was comical indeed, especially with Ammon'nen clinging to her so with that amused and smug grin on his face. "I am not! Arrg, you.. you.. you!" Because she couldn't really thing of what to call him right that moment and she was using both her paws to try and shove him away. One was at his chest but one was shoving against his face and she wondered if she might just let a little claw out. He was stronger than she thought, especially for a bumbling lazy oaf who sat around and did nothing and was probably catered to day and night.
Her ears flickered toward the older lioness and if lions could have blushed her face would have been as crimson as a firekin's. She wanted them both desperately to stop using that term, and she also realized that she probably looked quite the fool right now. Nen? He always looked like a moron so...
Ah! Another wanderer... why the hell wouldn't Nen get off of her? She shot him a glare before trying to look back to the other lioness, still awkwardly pulled up against Ammon with her paws still weakly pushing, though it had become half-hearted. "The mistweavers..." She had heard very little of the mysterious lions, though she had heard of them. She wondered what sorts of memories this lioness held with those lands, and why she'd left. "I was born in the pridelands myself... but I wandered too far from my mother one day and have been wandering ever since." She said slowly, almost grudgingly. She'd not been meaning to let Annon know anything about her to be honest, and now she had to spill some of her past.
Ah! Shoot, why hadn't she lied? She just couldn't think right now, and it was starting to piss her off.

Hah! She knew he was a pride cat! So focused on the little nugget of knowledge of being right was she that she hadn't noticed the slack in his grip, which would have let her shove away from him. Only had she realized she'd missed her chance when he tightened his grip again. She huffed and finally her paws dropped and she just sat, trying to ignore the added warmth and burden of his paw wrapped about her. She did not look happy about it though, and she wouldn't let the sour look leave her face either. "There is quite a bit to be embarrassed about when it involves you." She growled out, though the comment was much too late in it's delivery.
She hadn't wanted him to know a damn thing about her, she'd still gotten away without telling him her name. But now she knew where she was from... though she didn't really thing of the pridelands that way. Just where she'd been born. And now she knew a little bit about him, even though she'd suspected as much. Still... she was a little curious about it because he obviously knew more about the mistweavers than she did. "Oh we'll learn new things alright. How far tempers can flare.... sharpness of claws... " She still hadn't moved away from him though.
The instant that the older lioness asked if she was with child though Aagiro's angry face morphed into her ridiculous, disbelieving one. She Scooted away from Nen after that, tail curling about her paws as if trying to put some sort of barrier between she and him. "No!" She yelped out the word, frazzled slightly. Oh gods above she would never lay with Nen for the night, and she certainly wouldn't carry his cubs! She glanced to him out of the corner of her eye. They wouldn't be ugly cubs at least... No... no. She just wouldn't. He was much too irresponsible and lived to drive her insane. "No, we don't." She said more softly, even though it could be argued that they probably would because so far Nen really did know where he was headed and Aagiro was definitely going to lose that bet. She didn't think of that though.
"What about you... do you have a big family?" Yes, just keep shifting the conversation back to this female. Besides, Aagiro liked to hear about families due to the fact she didn't quite have one while growing up. Even before she'd wandered off on her own... well her family had not been overly close.

Even though Aagiro had answered for them, Ammon’nen would also express his opinion. “Unfortunately, we do not. But soon…I do think. We are traveling to the land of sands that lie just beyond those mountains,” he gave a brief nod towards the north. “Who knows,” he resisted the urge to nuzzle a purr into the female’s neck, fully putting on a show for the older lioness, “maybe then we both we settle down.” Laana didn’t need to know just of the ‘little bet’ the star lion and she had made before they begun this journey. Nen just need to run. Run now and very quickly before the spotted lioness killed him.
As Aagiro shifted away from him, he just gave a small shrug, ready to listen about the older gal’s family, and if she too had cubs. When Laana spoke, Nen would give a small wink towards his traveling partner. When she had finished, he spoke again.
“You know, we have been so rude not to introduce ourselves. I’m Nen,” he still didn’t use his full name. Aagiro had yet to give her name, so maybe she would slip up now. “…And this is Kitten!” Better offer her pet name than no name at all.
