You hear of expectant parents call the little fetus growing inside of them a "baby". Pro-lifers will look at this and go "well, yea, of course it is. It's a baby inside". Some of the pro-lifers may think that parents with wanted pregnancies calling their fetus a baby helps bolster the idea that the fetus IS a baby, an independant being.
However, are the expectant parents really calling the thing growing inside the womb in the current stage it's at a baby, or are they calling it a baby in expectation that it will fully develop into a newborn human being? That, is a big difference here, folks.
We call the thing inside of the womb a "baby" in expectation that it really WILL be a baby when being born.
Compared with unwanted pregnancies, These expectant parents WANT to have a baby! So their desire to have a baby is going to influence how they perceive the pregnancy.
So, ask yourselves this. Should we be comparing parents with wanted pregnancies who call their fetus a "baby" to parents with unwanted pregnancies who don't?
But otherwise, don't let any pro-lifer mislead any of you into calling it a "child", or a "baby". These are inaccurate terms, riddled with emotive and personifying contexts used to tug on the your heart strings and give humanity to where there is none.
The correct terminology is a blastocyst, an embryo, and a fetus. A "potential" child, baby, person, or human, is alright to use, but still carries some of that emotive connotative effect.

During debate and informative conversation, correct medical terms should be used. But during casual conversation, if I was intentionally pregnant, I think I'd just refer to it as my baby. Unintentionally, however, I wouldn't. Probably because I don't want to go through the process in which the fetus becomes a baby.

if i had an unwanted pregnancy i wouldnt refer to it as a baby for fear of becoming attached to it. the "evidence" these extremist prolifers come up with is all one huge load of bull plop! it drives me crazy how they appear to be looking into the intimate details and scientific evidence that proves abortion = murder, when if they actually stopped to think about their so called ntimate details, they would realize how ridiculous their claims are...idk if that made sense to anyone but i tend to not make much sense when i get, shall we say, emotional about a topic O.o
