Penelope had not been able to sleep, no matter how hard she tried; rather than waste her waking hours she had snuck out of the house and henshined up into Sailor Pasiphae. A quick patrol... maybe that would help her tire herself out. Then... then she could rest.
Something nagged at her; both of the Senshi who were also moons of Jupiter had advised her to travel to her moon, and she had informed both of them that she had not been ready. Now, as she stood on the roof of the building and looked up into the night sky... now, maybe she was. She was still terribly uneasy over the thought of traveling through space to a moon; she was even more afraid of what would happen when she got there. Her nightmare weighed heavily on her mind, as did Kallichore and Europa's conflicting reports of their experiences. What would she find, on that moon of pink dust? When she found it... would she regret it? Or would it make her feel whole? She didn't know; there was no way for her to know until she went there.
Pasiphae pulled out her cell phone and stared at "the button," the one that Kallichore had indicated would send her into space. Did she dare push it? What if she did it wrong--would she be sent to some other place besides her moon? She didn't know... and that made her lower the phone with a sigh. Maybe she wasn't ready after all... at least, not to make the journey alone.

She'd sensed the presence on the rooftop before she had seen who it was. It seemed to be friendly and also a base level senshi, so Perseus figured that she'd do a little PR. Maybe it was someone she'd met, maybe it was someone she knew, but regardless the girl was all about networking and now was a good a time as any. She was still a little sore from camp, but at least her wounds were healing nicely. Regardless, she didn't particularly want to push it and tear her shoulder or side again.
The soldier of illusion climbed up onto the roof with little pomp, wobbling a bit as she ignored the small amount of pain produced by the maneuver."Its a nice night out, but you look like you have something troubling you." Perhaps it was something she could help with, or perhaps it wasn't. Either way, Perseus didn't think she'd seen this particular senshi before.
"I'm Super Sailor Perseus, pleased to meet you." It had been a while since she'd met any new senshi, and Perseus was eager to answer questions if the girl had any. She had been waiting for an excuse to flex her new found knowledge and expertise to younger senshi. Perseus didn't want anyone to go through the seek and find answers mission that she had been on up until this point.

Sailor Pasiphae half-jumped at the sound of someone's voice behind her--she had been so involved in her own internal debate that she hadn't really felt the aura of another Senshi or heard anyone climbing up to the roof as well. She was flustered, and it showed in her voice a she rushed to catch up in the conversation, "I... I'm glad to meet you too, Perseus. I'm Sailor Pasiphae."
With those formalities out of the way, Pasiphae was at a bit of a loss as to how she should continue. Perseus had been able to see that she was troubled, but... the teenager was unsure whether she should ask Perseus for help with her problems or not. It was not anything that pertained to the other Senshi in general, and she certainly didn't feel like her problems were important enough to burden someone else with. Still, perhaps someone who had no prior knowledge of her situation could offer fresh insight. Europa and Kallichore were clearly close to her in some way that none of the Senshi involved seemed to understand; both of them had encouraged her to go to her moon but had offered conflicting experiences. Maybe Perseus could help her decide whether or not she was actually ready to take a trip to the moon Pasiphae. She hesitated only a moment more before asking,"I'm sorry to be a bother, but... maybe you could help me--to decide something? That is, if you're not busy; I don't want to bother you, if you've somewhere else to be... "

The senshi was really a new one if she let something with a noticeable power signature sneak up on her that easily. Pasiphae was lucky that it was a friendly presence creeping up on her rooftop and not someone from the Negaverse. Still though, she seemed conflicted. It was a feeling that Perseus was familiar with, and something that she did not want to see another senshi go through. "I can certainly do my best." The super sat on the retaining wall of the building, looking over at her new companion.
"Believe me, its better to ask something when you can. It took me a long time to figure things out on my own." She smiled her friendliest smile, something she'd practiced for years in front of a mirror at her mothers behest. "I've got nowhere I'd rather be right now." It was a true statement. Help out a fellow senshi or get chased down by a hungry youma. It wasn't difficult to decide how to spend her night. "What are you deciding about Pasiphae?"

The Shame Senshi smiled gratefully, and the relief of having someone to speak to was evident in her voice as she moved to sit next to Perseus, "Thank you... I really appreciate it. You see, I've been told that I can go through space and visit my moon, but..." Her voice trailed off as she looked guiltily down at her phone, her gloved fingers curling around it. "I don't know if I should. I've heard that there can be good things, or bad things, waiting for you, and I don't know what's waiting for me."
Sailor Pasiphae stopped there, her face flushed with embarrassment. This, really, wasn't Perseus's problem, and the teenager felt foolish for having to explain herself and her problems. She should be able to figure them out on her own, but... well, the other Senshi she had meet seemed to work well with her; neither Europa nor Kallichore had poked fun at her worries or at her nightmare, and Perseus seemed to genuinely want to help. The Senshi had to stick together, help each other... and as much as she hated to admit it, she needed to bother someone for help now. So, she confessed, "I had this nightmare, several weeks ago, about a place that could be Pasiphae. It made me uneasy about actually traveling there... but at the same time, part of me really wants to know what it's like, what connection I have to it. I think... that I need to know."
Now she looked up at the sky as she concluded, "But I don't know how to get there, not really. I've never done it. So I'm stuck... not knowing what to do. Whether I should go or not, if I should go alone... anything, really."

This wasn't the first time that Perseus had heard others debate over visiting their planets, and had the debate of going back after her first visit, unaware of the broken horror that had been her planet. "You certainly can visit the world where you draw your powers from. But you are right, I've not met a single senshi whose visited their world and not mentioned its destruction." The senshi of illusion sighed and turned her gaze towards the stars, towards the constellation Perseus.
"The song of your planet calling out to you... it resonates with your very being. As soon as you hear it, you will be surprised that you never heard it before." It was a hard concept to explain. The super reached out a gloved hand tentatively, aiming to give Pasiphae's shoulder a reassuring grip. "I can teach you how to get there if you are ready, and if you feel like sharing the experience I can come with you if you want." Perseus paused, thinking about what to say. "I can tell you that it is an emotional experience. Occasionally you can receive glimpses of what the planet used to be, memories of your past life." It was an intense experience, but maybe if the other girl had a bit of warning it wouldn't come as much of a shock as it had to Perseus the first time it had happened.

The younger Senshi listened carefully to her companion's words, her own eyes staring up at the sky. Perseus didn't seem to offer her any further comfort--which was fine. She wanted to here the truth, to know what was waiting for her. For a few moments, she sat silent, thinking about what she wanted to do. "I think... I think I have to go, but I don't want to go alone. Whatever's waiting for me... I think it'll be better if someone's with me," Pasiphae eventually confessed. She was grateful for the strong hand on her shoulder, a freely given anchor that allowed her to speak without feeling like she was imposing. "If you would show me, go with me... I'd really appreciate it."
Her lips quivered slightly, but her words were firm in their intent. She still didn't know if her nightmare was a real memory, and she didn't know exactly how she'd react to the sight of the moon that gave her her power. But she was certain, now, from the words of Europa, Kallichore, and now Perseus that the trip would be important. So, as afraid as she was, as unsure... she knew she had to go.

"Certainly." She kept her hand on Pasiphae's shoulder, which was the only way she knew of on how to get there, sharing the younger senshi's signal and piggy backing to her planet. "Hold your phone in your hand, with your finger on the home button, but don't press it yet." She took a deep breath, reminding herself on how to hear the call and thinking about how to explain it.
"The song of your home is calling out among a sea of other stars and planets calling out as well. To travel to Pasiphae, you must be able to distinguish the call of your planet." She closed her eyes as she was speaking, homing in on the sound of Perseus. It was becoming easier and easier to pick it out of the surrounding interplanetary noise, particularly since her upgrade. "Close your eyes and listen. Tune out the sound of the city below, tune out the sound of the moon and the stars. Find the noise that calls to you."
Perseus opened her eyes and stared over at the other girl, watching her progress. She'd never seen any but the original group find their star's song, and then she had been too focused on her own to look. "You will be able to tell when you hear it- it will resonate with your very soul."

Pasiphae relaxed further when Perseus agreed and began giving instructions, finding comfort in following directions from a more experienced Senshi. She flipped open the phone that still rested in her hand, positioning her thumb over the home button but with no pressure on it, as per Perseus's orders. She closed her eyes without hesitation and began to concentrate, trying to locate the song.
At first, the sounds that crashed through her mind and into her ears were jumbled and conflicted, making her cringe. Harsh brass sounds and tempatic drumrolls, everything from trilling flutes and jazzy harmonicas to reedy basoons and xylophone scales, no set rhythm, clashing keys--how was she supposed to pick out anything from this jumbled series of noises? She grit her teeth and forced herself to concentrate, trying to listen to any sound that spoke to her above the rest.
Just when she was about to give up, she heard it. No, she more than heard it--she felt it. One sound that twisted in between all the rest, not the most prominent, not the flashiest, but there, all the same. The tendril of song--something like cellos and violas, slow, soft, enticing--ghosted across her ears and mind until all the other sounds were nothing more than hinted background noises. It took far too much effort for her to murmur towards Perseus, "I found it... I hear it."

Perseus vaguely wondered what Pasiphae sounded like. Perseus sounded like a harmony between the planets that made up the constellation it governed. As such it sounded like the crashing of waves against the shore, bells jingling in the wind and a range of other noises that sounded a bit like wind and wood instruments. She would have to ask the girl later what her homeworld sounded like when they arrived.
"Then go home." It was a simple set of words, spoken softly as to not interrupt Pasiphae's call. The song of her planet had been heard and it was a hard thing indeed to ignore once you had heard it. Perseus kept her hand upon her shoulders, preparing to hitch onto Pasiphae's signal. She'd never done it before, other than Kurma's easy transition into orbit, but she'd taken Sam to Perseus with her and had heard of it happening before.
The ride to outerspace was not an unpleasant one, but it tended to leave your head spinning a little and opening your eyes to a different place entirely was jogging on the brain. However, the trip's minor un-pleasantries was more than worth it.

"Then go home."
The words may have been simple, but they reached Pasiphae in her semi-trance. She barely even felt Perseus's hand still on her shoulder, though she was still somewhat aware that it hadn't moved. It felt like she was moving in slow motion as her thumb shifted slightly, and she closed her eyes as she pressed down on the 'home' button.
She could feel... something happening around her, which she assumed was the space travel itself. She kept he eyes firmly closed, however, until she could feel solid matter beneath her feet again. When she opened her eyes, a wave of dizziness and nausea overcame her, partially from the travel itself, and also partially because she recognized this place. It was the place from her nightmares, the same pink tinged soil, the same stars. It was an almost heart-breakingly beautiful landscape She sank to her knees, her voluminous skirt not affected at all. She didn't know why this bothered her, but she realized that in her half-numbed mind she had expected it to float, to be unaffected by gravity. But there was obviously gravity here, since she didn't float away. And air, since she could breath.
Pasiphae scooped up some of the fine pink dust in her gloved hands and then let it fall again through shaking fingers, watching it with wide maroon eyes. She liked to think she had been fairly accepting of this whole Senshi thing. She had been chosen. She had a duty, and she answered that call. But... but this? To literally be on a place that had once only been part of her nightmare? This was really freaking her out, and it showed as she squeaked out, "I... I can't believe... I can't believe it's the same place..."

Perseus's hand left Pasiphae's shoulder as soon as they arrived on her planet. Her gaping view of everything around her was sharply cut off as the girl next to her fell to her knees in the fine pink dust around them. A bit concerned, she knelt off to the side of her, watching her reactions.
"You can only see visions of the past when you are on your planet." That had been spoken from experience. Many times in yoga and meditation had Adira tried to recall past memories, and each time she could only mull over what she had actually seen. She spoke softly as she reasoned, trying to get through Pasiphae's head on the matter. "The reason it looks the same is because somewhere in your head, you know this place. This place is you. So it used the images in your head to fuel your nightmare." She couldn't say whether or not what had happened in Pasiphae's dream had actually happened in the past, but it was a start.
Picking herself up, she dusted the pinkish grit off of her knees and offered a hand to Pasiphae. "We aren't going to see much just sitting here. We came all this way-" Perseus smiled slyly. "We might as well explore a little. Maybe you'll find that it is different after all?"

Having Perseus near to explain how this place had come to be in her dreams was the only thing that calmed the frantic Pasiphae. Her heavy breathing slowed, and her hands ceased to shake as she reasoned out what the other Senshi was telling her. On some level, it made sense and rang true with her. This place looked the same because Pasiphae was intrinsically connected to it; somewhere, deep in her mind, she had remembered this place. That didn't mean that the pain was real, that she was suddenly going to develop a large gash that bled fingers made of youma dust. She wouldn't be pinned down by the beads from her henshi-ing; she wouldn't have to feel like a failure or have to face this alone. No, she wasn't alone... and that made all the difference.
Perseus was right, about why she had been able to dream of this place, of the need to explore it now that she was visiting, and Pasiphae was rather ashamed of herself for her reaction, as emotional as it had been. She had asked the other Senshi to help her, to come with her, which was already bothering her enough, but to make her try and be a comforter too? That was asking far too much from the gracious Super Senshi. So, the Shame Senshi accepted Perseus's hand and rose to her feet as well, offering a small smile of apology, "I'm sorry, of course you're right. We should at least walk around... look to see what's here. I don't know... what to look for, exactly, but maybe we'll find... something."

Perseus was glad to see that Pasiphae had visibly calmed down; it seemed that her words had worked after all. She was actually fairly surprised at how clean and almost professional the younger senshi had handled herself when she brushed herself off. "Well, you did have to live somewhere, along with your people." They would find something, she hadn't run into a senshi yet that hadn't seen some sign of previous occupancy.
"Take a minute to breath. Trust your instincts and pick a direction. Remember that this place is you, you are Pasiphae and you know what you are looking for, deep down inside." Bright blue eyes watched Pasiphae, waiting for her response. She felt like she sounded exactly like Kurma and his guru-teaching ways, but if it worked than it was certainly worth it. Besides, she didn't know Kurma (or at least, Perseus didn't think so!), so it was a little less embarrassing. If anything, when they met Pasiphae would tell Kurma that he sounded like Perseus!

Pasiphae took a minute to steel herself before looking into Perseus's eyes. She nodded to show that she had understood before taking a couple of deep breaths. If her companion had asked her where she was going, the Shame Senshi wouldn't have been able to give a definitive answer. She was trying, as best she could, to follow Perseus's advice. Trust her instincts. Deep down, she would know what she was looking for-presumably when she found it. So, she continued to wander, her heels making various paths in the faintly pink dust of the moon.
Eventually, her foot hit something buried beneath the soil. Probably just a rock or something, Pasiphae reasoned; there was probably no need to stop and look. Still, she felt compelled to kneel down and begin to brush the dust away, seeking to uncover what lie beneath. She began slowly, but as more and more of the object was revealed, her brushing became fiercer, more determined. For whatever reason... she need to see what was here.
