RP breedings will open up every month. Non-RP breedings will open up every 3-4 months, during events.

General breeding rules
  • Breedings cost 40k, trade sent to the colorist of the litter.
  • Breeding can only occur between a male and a female of the same species.
  • Females of all species must wait until their current litter reaches adolescence before breeding again.
  • Babies will grow in 1 month. All other stages are on a 2-4 month growth chart.
  • Five unsuccessful attempts at breeding will be considered low luck (LL) as long as proof is provided. Keep track of your breeding attempts!
  • Trades must be sent within 24 hours of receiving your breeding or the litter will be retconned and we will be angry. We will not accept trade until the litter is safe and sound in your inbox.
  • Females who choose to rogue breed have halved litter sizes.
  • Non-RP breedings cannot be rogue breedings. You must have a partner (two of your own critters, or another person and their critter).
  • Adolescents cannot breed.

Non-RP breeding rules
  • All general breeding rules apply.
  • Non-RP breedings will have smaller litters.
  • Non-RP breedings cannot be rogue breedings. You must have a partner (two of your own critters, or another person and their critter).

RP breeding rules
  • All general breeding rules apply.
  • RP breedings will have larger litters.
  • You must provide 4 complete (800+ word solos/PRP) RPs for it to count as an RP breeding.
  • Providing 4 additional RPs (8 total) will add +1 to your litter.

Litter Sizes
Please note: Mammoths and Horses can only have 2 offspring maximum (3 with RP bonus). However, you can opt to customize into the litter. This means that pairings will always have maximum size, always. You can still opt to custom/replace your rolled litter with a custom - the end result will always be a maximum litter of 2, no matter how you go about it (unless you provide +4 RP for the RP bonus of +1).

Sabertoothed Cats:
Male x Female: 2-6 natural cubs. (+1 with RP bonus)
Female x Rogue (RP only): 1-3 natural cubs. (+1 with RP bonus)

Woolly Mammoths:
Male x Female: 2 natural calfs. (+1 with RP bonus)
Female x Rogue (RP only): 1 natural calf. (+1 with RP bonus)

Short-faced Bear:
Male x Female: 2-4 natural cubs. (+1 with RP bonus)
Female x Rogue (RP only): 1-2 natural cubs. (+1 with RP bonus)

Dire Wolves:
Male x Female: 2-6 natural pups. (+1 with RP bonus)
Female x Rogue (RP only): 1-3 natural pups. (+1 with RP bonus)

Western Horses:
Male x Female: 2 natural foals. (+1 with RP bonus)
Female x Rogue (RP only): 1 natural foal. (+1 with RP bonus)

Rules on litter customs
→Customing into a litter costs 375k, or 75k for familiars.
→Please send trade to your colorist.
→There are two custom-in slots per litter, however, you can custom in to as many litters per month as you like. However, please see the rules on litter sizes for both mammoths and horses, as those have different rules.
→Litter customs must be posted in your colorists thread. You have 48 hours from the time your breeding has been chosen to get those custom forms in!

A note about EDITS
→In the future we may implement a "genetics" type system for edits, but as of right now, the inheritability of edits is purely CC.
→This means that if you post an edited couple for breedings, the chance that they will have edited babies is totally CC! Please don't complain if you don't get edited babies, because again, this is CC for now.
→If you custom into a litter with an edited parent, you can't choose custom edits for that baby. EDITS ARE CC
→The only case where you would have guaranteed edited babies would be if a colorist opened up a slot and guaranteed before-hand that babies would be either 100% edited (with 2 edited parents) or 50% edited (1 edited parent).
→If we do implement a genetics system in the future, it will be very simple: 2 edited parents = 100% edited babies, 1 edited parent = 50% edited babies. We're not going to keep track of some complex genetics system, and you don't have to either.
→If we decide to allow shopgoers to edit pets, those edits will NOT be inheritable.

Breeding

Whenever you post for a breeding (through the monthly breeding thread, a special event, or in a colorist's thread), it is not guaranteed that you will receive a breeding until it is crossed out and confirmed by a colorist.

We select breedings as we have time. We will make every effort to be fair in picking breedings. In addition to CC, we will pick breedings via dice roll. We may also open speed slots, or low-luck slots, or some type of event slots.

BUT. IF YOU POST FOR A BREEDING, IT IS NOT GUARANTEED THAT YOU WILL GET IT. We will do all the breedings we have time for, but we will probably not have time to do every single breeding as soon as it gets posted. You may not be chosen in a particular event or raffle or whatever. It happens. Please do not assume that just because you have posted, you are guaranteed to receive that particular breeding at that time.

We do not want to hear any type of complaints in-thread about:

  • Your breeding being 'skipped' or 'forgotten'. Again: Breedings are generally CCed and rolled. Not every breeding will be picked up immediately.
  • Your breeding not being picked for several months. We are keeping an eye on this and we will open up low-luck slots or hire additional colorists if this becomes an issue.
  • Someone else's breeding being picked before yours, even though yours has been posted for longer. Unless a colorist opens breedings and specifically states that they are first-come first-served, breedings will be chosen via CC and rolling -- not the exact order in which they are posted.
  • Your breeding only getting 1 or 2 babies. Baby amounts are rolled fairly and publicly and are the same for everyone. There are options available to boost litter sizes if you need to.

We also do not want anyone being bugged to gift someone with babies. Please do not hang around dropping hints about how you wish you had a baby and you haven't gotten any babies in a long time and if only you had one of those cute babies if someone should post pictures of their litter.

We don't mind if you post something like "Too bad they only rolled one baby, they are such a cute pair! XD" or "I hope my couple gets lucky this month, they've been waiting a while!" That's cool. That's fine. That's a-okay. What we mind is a bunch of passive aggressive whining along the lines of "Sigh... another month that my breeding didn't get picked :" or "I guess I got skipped again :", etc etc. DON'T DO IT. It makes the colorists and other owners feel uncomfortable and guilt-tripped, and also makes us much less likely to want to do your breeding because we don't want to give anyone the impression that we were bullied into doing it.

If we see you posting passive-aggressive complaints and/or trying to guilt trip people into giving you cubs/coloring you things, we will ask you politely to stop or tone it down. If we have asked you to stop and you continue doing it, all of your breedings and customs for the month will be taken down and you will be grey-listed from staff events for the month as well. So don't do it.

When you post for a breeding, you must also post this form to acknowledge these rules. Breedings posted without the form will be taken down.
