The Sprout Towerlarge tower in the northern part of the town is a tall and wobbling pagoda, run by Buddhist monks who train Pokémon, all the while teaching people that all living beings coexist through cooperation. These monks mostly train Bellsprout, although occasionally use Hoothoot. You can battle these monks. No badges required.

As trainers battle, the flexible pagoda shakes from side to side. This flexibility protects the tall tower from earthquakes. This technology is now known as jūkōzō, and is applied to hundreds of modern high-rise buildings. Many people believe that a hundred-foot Bellsprout was used to make the swaying pillar.
