Hidabeds are HEAVY. Here's the story, I went to check the mail, and saw there was a couch in the front hallway of my appartment building, with a sign that said "free" I went and got Alex and we started to move it upstairs. We were going to buy a couch anyways so this was great. We got it up through the elevator, and had just started it down the hallway to our appartment, when it hit my foot. It sucked. Really sucked. I managed to get my shoe off after a few minutes, and my sock was bloody. I was like, 'Well, crap.' but with more tears involved. I got back into the appartment and took off my sock, my toenail was black and my toe was bleeding. We went to the hospital, got x-rays, etc. Nothing's broken, but all the tissues were 'crushed' (the doctor's wording) and there was a cut underneith my nail. FORTUNATELY, it was only just under it, so they didn't decide to REMOVE my nail and stitch it up, but let it heal on it's own. I'm hopeful the nail won't just fall off either, as they said that was a possibility, and my only response is YUCK.
I'm gibbled, but what angers me most is I called my work to tell them I wouldn't be able to work my shift that night, on account of being at the hospital getting x-rays, and they said I had to get my shift covered, and if I didn't, I'd have to come in. All my job is is standing and walking, there isn't a single point where I'd be sitting down. And I can hardly walk.

I hope you find someone to fit in at work for you! and that your toe heals ok biggrin

Thanks, all of you crying
It's currently all bandaged up with polysporin. The Doctor put it that way and said to leave it like that for 2-3 days and then soak the bandage off. I'm kind of scared to see what it'll look like when it does come off though. O.o
xd 4laugh Thanks Xander, but I don't think I need to burn the place down, my boss phoned me today and basically sucked up to me saying he was just a bit stressed trying to make sure someone wasn't closing by themselves and such. I'm still going to look for a new job though, for goodness sakes I went to school for a Dental Receptionist position, I might as well go and get one!! whee

Aw, hope you get better soon! My brother "closed" the door on my left hand second finger, and I had to imobilize it and wait until my nail falls by its own (the doctor had said that would have mean that my finger was healed). It was weird to see my "nail-less" finger o.O, but it wasn't something disgusting at all.

It was hillarious, cuz it didn't hurt, but I shouted "Teacher!!!! I need to get a band-aid!!!!!"
That happened last year, and now I see how funny the situation was.
