((will post cert when i get it)) Looking over his shoulder, he gave a snort in the direction he'd left his youngest sister after yet another sibling ruckus. He loved his sisters but they just had a way of pushing his buttons. calling him a body snatcher.. insisting that colors had outlandish names.. thinking his obsession with finding out how things worked was silly. Pulling his empty baby basket to set over his back, her wandered off to find something to keep his mind busy to allow things to blow over. The meadow wasn't too far away from his home and after all.. it often had new things to discover. perhaps he could meet some one his own age that wasn't part of his family..

Criana looked behind her, making sure her siblings weren't following. Satisfied that she had safely snuck away, she continued towards the meadow that her father had taken her to several times before. It had a small stream and her daddy said that flowers were beautiful there this time of year. She really just wanted to get away from her brother and sister for a little bit - she loved them, but today she wanted to do something different. The meadow was a very common place for Soquili to go, so maybe there would be someone there that she'd never met before! With that in mind, she quickened her pace. It wasn't long until she reached the edge of the field, eyes wide in anticipation... but there was no one there.

It wasn't long till he reached the meadow and started to push his way through the taller grass not really paying much attention to anything at all. He was however, careful enough to glance to the sky every now and again. His mother had warned him of things that flew who could pose a treat to them. After all, he'd seen her large scar for himself and asked.. that had been something she seemed almost reluctant to tell her foals about but still.. she'd told him and his siblings so that they knew why they had to be careful.

Just as her heart started to sink, some tall grass moving at the other end of the field caught her eye. Caution to the wind, she ran as fast as she could towards the disturbance, not wanting to miss whatever it was. Maybe it's one of those tiny Soquili mom told me about! She thought hopefully. Not realizing just how fast she was going, she barreled into something definitely more solid than the tall grass...

One moment he'd been pushing his way through grass.. the next, he was being bowled over by a brown mass that sent him tumbling, his basket flying in an opposite direction. Glaring, he stood up and shook out his fur. Looking around he searched for his basket and promptly retrieved it before eying the little filly who'd run into him. "Do you mind? you could have smashed my basket!" His voice held a slightly annoyed edge to it. His basket was.. his special baby bed given to him by his parents and it's security kept him safe. Shaking his annoyance aside, he gave a small cheerful smile. "You're not hurt are you?"

Criana got her feet back under her and looked up, only momentarily disappointed that it wasn't a miniature Soquili. "Oh my goodness!" She said, abashed. "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to run into you like that - I just wanted to make sure I got to see what was going through the grass." She smiled back at the colt. "Yes, I'm fine. I hope I didn't wreck your... errr... thing." She wasn't quite sure what it was that the colt had, but it stirred up weird feelings in her, like she had seen it before. It made her think of home.

"It's my baby basket" He stated as he set it on the ground to look over. Satisfied that it hadn't been damaged he gave a small nod. "But it's fine... I'm Cadhla." He grinned wide for a moment. "What brings you so close to my family?" His head gave a curious tilt as he questioned her. She was like his sisters. cloven hooves and... with a tuffy fluff for a tail rather than a floofy hairy one like he and his father shared.

Ah, so that's what it was! She now remembered her own basket. I think mom and dad stored it away somewhere... she mused. "I'm Criana," she said, grinning, "and I'm glad your basket is ok." The colt was different than any she'd seen before... he was so bright! His whole body was a glistening white, only disturbed by his blue mane and tail. "My family doesn't live too far from here either. Usually I come with my siblings, but I wanted to go out on my own today." Happy that she had found someone her own age, she asked enthusiastically, "Do you want to play?" Her eyes were full of merriment, hoping the colt didn't have to go home too soon.

"My sisters and I play here too some times.. They decided to do something else though.. Fine by me... they were being mean any how." He gave a small shrug, his tail giving a small swish. "Play? What Kind of game?" He pushed aside his sister's comment on cooties... just what was a cootie any ways?

Criana thought for a moment about all the different games they could play... a lot of times she played tag with her siblings, but it wasn't really a two person game. Suddenly, inspiration hit her. "We could go on a treasure hunt!" She didn't really know what kind of treasure they would find, but her dad had told her about a lot of adventures he'd been on, and different things he'd found.

He pondered this game. "Treasure hunt? Is that anything like rummaging through the two-legged's used items to see how they work and what you can make of them?" He looked rather hopeful. He'd been sneaking off since he first found an abandoned two-legger's camp and found his first item to investigate.

"What's a two-legger?" Criana asked, puzzled. She knew about a lot of forest animals, but this seemed different than a bear or bird. Her father must have run into whatever it was at some point - he had travelled a lot - but he never told her of something called a two-legger. For the game she had originally meant things like pretty stones or seashells, but this sounded much more interesting! She hoped it was some kind of exotic creature. "Whatever it is, it sounds really cool!"

He pondered how to explain what they were. " Well. My father said they look funny.. I haven't run into one myself.. but Father said they stand and walk on only two legs.. but they're not birds... and they talk in funny voices... My mother doesn't like me going near them though.. She gets upset." He gave a sheepish grin. "But maybe we can scout out one of their abandoned camps?" his tail waggled a bit in his excitement.

Well they sure did sound funny... I guess I'll just have to see one for myself. They didn't really sound scary, so Criana guessed it was ok. "That sounds great! Do you know where any camps are?" Out of her siblings, she was adventurous like her father, but with her mothers care and grace.

"I sure do! I pick through the camps all the time looking for anything interesting and strange." He grinned wide. he was far too curious about how the two-legger's things worked not to know where there were a few abandoned camp sites. "Follow me!" he said snatching up his basket and tossing it over his back so that it fit over his backside like a turtle shell before trudging through the tall grass in another direction.
