Amoret was running, running to the Pridelands.
She still had the wanderlust, but her heart hurt too much. She just couldn't stay away from him; she had never felt so close to anyone, let alone her own family - somehow, she knew, she had to go back and be with him.
She almost sighed in relief when grass touched her toes, but she kept going, continuing to tell herself that nothing mattered until she saw him again.
The lioness had to know for sure.

Laying in what had become his favorite spot by the water hole, the large orange male stared at his reflection. Many thoughts ran through his head as he watched the water ripple gently with whatever light breeze happened to blow by, noteably back to that night with Amoret. He sighed, wondering if he'd done the right thing. Somehow, he didn't think it had been. Somewhere in the back of his mind, a voice told him that he didn't NEED a mate, but as he'd become accustomed to doing, he shoved it away and ignored it. His eyes glanced at a fish darting away, one ear twitching. He swore he heard the sound of paws, but ignored it, thinking it another trick of his mind.

Unfortunately for Amoret, she hadn't seen that large dropoff and whumphed in front of him, not catching her balance in time and practically falling over on top of him, letting out a quick breath. "Ahhhyyii!"
She ended up in the puddle, and sat up, lilypad flopped over her eyes, tongue lolled out as she spat out water.

The lion jumped a bit as he was landed on, then stared at Amoret sitting in the pool of water. And he couldn't help it, he started to laugh, for she looked quite comical like that.
Standing up, he waded into the water and plucked the lily pad off her head before dropping it back in the water. "What brings you into the Pridelands, Amoret..? And are you okay..?" The laugh was still evident in his voice.

"Danzi...?" She questioned, before practically tackling him in a lion-hug, licking and chewing on his mane affectionately. "I made it... I made it here! I came all this way... just to be with you."
Still sopping wet, Amoret drew back, realizing this, and shook herself off, sending water droplets spraying everywhere.
It was evident she was very happy to be in a place such as this.

Still laughing, Danzi attempted to sheild himself from the spray of water. "Yes, I see that..." He smiled, settling back down. "So you came all the way here just to see me..." He nuzzled her, purring a bit.

"Of course. And to give you good news, that is..." She blushed a bit, nuzzling back affectionately.
"I told you I'd find you again. I promised that."

"Good news...?" He blinked, tilting his head. Then a purr escaped as she nuzzled him, a smile returning to his maw. "And what news is this, keeper of promises?"

Grinning slyly, Amoret nipped his ear, shaking her head. "It can wait, for now. As of this moment... I missed you far too much." A look came into her dual colored eyes, and she couldn't help but grin mischeviously.
Obviously, she had the cat in the bag, so to speak. No pun intended, honest.

Settling down, a deep, rumbling purr came to the male's throat. "Yes..." He nuzzled her, pulling her close with one paw. "It can indeed wait." His rough tongue raked over her cheek, a form of a lion's kiss.

The orange male smiled, continuing to groom her. One paw held her close, hugging her. In his mind, he rather wished it would last, that she'd join the pride and stay with him, but he also knew that she might still have too much wanderlust.

Of course, Amoret herself didn't know if she still had the wanderlust or not, but she most certainly wanted to stay where she was at, currently, leaning against her... mate, wasn't he?
She smiled.

Green orbs turned to the setting sun. "It's beautifull..." His gaze turned back to Amoret. "As are you..." A lick upon her cheek. "I don't think anybody could take your place in my heart, ever."

A nod, as she lay down, curling her tail around her back legs. It had seemed like hours, and she had travelled for so long, and so far... Amoret was very tired.
"And the same for you..." Though, she felt, things were going to change very soon...
