Annika stretched her back and arched, hearing the crack of her bones and the popping of her joints as she woke up. Looking around the little spot that was covered with thick bushes with filtered sunlight to make the surrounding resting place a soft green, the female stood up and yawned soundly. Shaking her fur, her tartan moved over her comfortable and familiar with her action. "Irmuska?" The mother she-wolf was still blearly eyed from sleep. Annika wanted to go to the nearest body of water to fish for breakfast.

Irmuska lifted her head out of a black and tan bundle. She gave a big yawn, then blinked sleepy at her mother. Her paws stretched out in front of her. "Is it time to get up?" The pup peeked around and between the branches.

Shaking her fur again, Annika looked at her daughter and gave an affectionate smile at her. "Yes dearest. It's time to get up and great the world." Standing up she nuzzled her daughter's fur, taking in the unique scent of earth and flowers. "Are you hungry?" She asked, starting to move out of their resting place to great the sun.

The pup quickly bounded to her paws, suddenly full of energy. She greeted her mother affectionately and gave licks all over Annika's face. Irmuska gave that wiggle of puppy exuberance as she bounded toward the den entrance.
"Yes mommy. What are we going to eat today?" Irmuska blinked as she stepped out into the sunlight. Her nose checked out the local scents.

The mother wolf laughed out loud at the energetic pup that was her daughter and watched her with such love that it became impossible to image live without her. Of course all pups were the cutest little things out there as all babies were, but knowing that Irmuska was hers she was proud and happy. Annika was also very thankful she listened to her instincts to leave her beloved pack to seek out her destiny. That destiny turned into her daughter.
Moving around, the she wolf started to walk in the direction where the nearest source of water was located. "Come along Irmuska. Let's see if we can have a bit of fish for our morning meal alright?" The mother smirked a bit at her daughter. "I bet you can't make it to the pond before me..." It was childish, yes, but then there wasn't anything in the world the mother wouldn't do to give Irmuska a good childhood. Even if there will come a time, which might happen soon, that she will decide to leave these grounds to reach her pack. Yet there were things Irmuska would have to know before that happened. First things first though, breakfast.

Irmuska stopped to itch her ear. Her tongue lolled out, and her eyes closed as she clearly enjoyed the good scratch. Finished she turned her blue eyes lovingly on her mother.
"Coming mother." The pup started to follow, when Annika issued her pond challenge. Irmuska cheerfully took it up. "No you wont! I will!" The pup scampered off as fast as her short legs and rolly polly belly would let her. Her laugh filling the morning air.

Annika chuckled as she watched her daughter run off as fast as her little body could take her, keeping herself behind yet not far enough that she would lose sight of Irmuska. Truly Annika couldn't see herself being beaten by any other wolf in running to a specific point, yet with her daughter, the she wolf would be sorely in for hearing the little one gloating.
Picking up her own pace she was jogging right next to her daughter easily. "Now dear, it looks like I'm going to make it to get the bigger fish before you." Her tone was playfully and encouraging.
(Dude, I love Irmuska....rolly polly belly is priceless lol )

( rofl She's so adorable. I see her in that omg cute puppy stage.)
Irmuska gave her mother a playful mock puppy growl. "Nu-uh! I'll catch a bigger fish than you can!" She bounded along. When her mother drew even with her, the pup reached over and tried to knaw with her baby teeth on her mother's leg as they ran. Luckily for her mother, Irmuska wasn't able to get a nibble in cause they were running.
The sound of water falling caught the young wolf pup's attention. "I hear it mama! I hear it." Irmuska wagged her tail as she put on a small burst of puppy speed. It really wasn't much faster, but she thought it was. She was ready to run headlong into the water.

Laughing Annika jumped out of the way from her daughter attempting to knaw at her legs she fell back further, letting her daughter head straight for the water that was within their sights. The water was a dark blue, glittering a bit from the sunlight hitting it. There was plentiful fishes of all sizes under the cool water that would serve for a good hunting area. It also helped that the water was clear enough to follow one morsal fish. "I hear it too sweetheart. You better hurry before I get my speed again!"

Irmuska squealed and plowed straight into the water. A big splash and wave went up in front of her little body. She laughed as the water came down on her nose. Turning her head to look back at Annika, the pup grinned, "I won!" She giggled, then shook water from her fur.
She'd gotten to the water first, but she'd also scared all the fish into hiding. Standing really still Irmuska tried waiting for them to come back out. Her ears perked whenever she saw movement.

Watching Irmuska head straight into the water, Annika for a moment felt a wave of concern wash through her that perhaps the pup might have gone too far into the water but held herself back to watch what Irmuska would do. It was obvious that instinct was strong in her daughter and that alone pervented the she wolf from nurturing her daughter to the point of smothering. No, Annika didn't want to be too over protective. To say the least it was hard.
Entering the water along with her daughter the mother nuzzled the wet fur. "That's right. Since you won you can get your first pick of any fish you like." She said, watching her little one focus on the fishes that were scared away. Holding still herself, Annika watched the fishes that were slowly swimming around back to where they were, making their swim between her legs.

Yay! She'd won and now she could pick a tasty fish for herself and mommy. About to wiggle in joy, Irmuska remembered she was being still to draw the fishies back out. Carefully she looked around as the timid fish came back out.
A soft giggle escaped as first one, then another fish swam by and touched her. "That tickles," she whispered to her mother. Bright flashes from colorful fish scales caught the pup's attention. "Oooooh lookie at that one mama! It's so pretty. Oh hey there's another one." The pup had clearly gotten distracted and forgotten why they'd come down to the stream.

Biting back her laughter, Annika smiled and nipped gently at Irmuska's ear. "Now little one, you must not move too much. Even if it tickles." Very slowly, the she wolf moved forwards into the water, the pond's water not too deep from where she was moving then stopped. "Focus so that the colorful fishes can come to you. Once you have them close enough, lower your nose to the water and bite one." The mother wanted to see if her easily distracted and highly excitable pup would listen for at least five seconds before she did something cute again.

Irmuska twitched the ear her mother nipped; she grinned, "alright!" Blue eyes turned to stare intently into the water. Exactly how focus could make the fishes come closer, the little pup wasn't sure but she was certainly willing to try. When she thought they might be close enough her nose plunged into the water. She sneezed. Sending up a small spray of water and scaring the fish yet again. "Ooooops." Irmuska giggled as water dripped off her nose.

Smiling to herself, the mother licked her daughter's cheek and nudged her back a bit. "Watch little one." There was amusement in her eyes, looking down at the water and focused as the fishes came back around them. One good sized fish swam slowly until it idled as they tended to do, especially in the Zelda game, until Annika downed her nose into the water to snap her strong jaws around the fish.
Lifting her head the fish struggled between her jaws until more pressure crush the fish into submission. Throwing it with a whiplash of her head to the shore, the mother smiled at her daughter. "One more bit of practice before you eat alright?" Understanding that pups had a short attention span in teachings it was best to keep it simple so her daughter doesn't become frustrated. After all she was still very young. And adorable. And more adorable.
