Mayli was close to her parents growing up, they adored her because she always got good grades in school and was never in any fights, she even skipped a grade, and in High School she joined the Running Start program. She was able to get a college degree by the time she graduated. Although she was very smart Mayli decided that Cooking was her forte' and pursued this career instead of the journalism one that her parents had encouraged her to go into. xoxoMayli grew apart from her parents because they disaproved of her life style. They kept insisting that she wasn't using her brains to good needs, so she decided it would be best ;after finishing her Culinary Arts Program, to move to a different place. Since the thing Mayli hated the most was to be alone, she asked her sister if she would come along, and after a long dispute in between the parents and Mayli, they agreed.xoxoNow Mayli and Zori live together where rules are only suggestions. Mayli doesn't want Zori to leave her too; like the men in Mayli's life have, so Mayli lets Zori do what ever she wants- to a point...Mayli was torn apart (emotionally) when she lost her first love because she was too clingy and he ended up cheating on her with another. Now she can never have a relationship lasting more then a month with any one person, because she comes to the point of almost stalking the person she is with to make sure they aren't cheating. Mayli is waiting for the perfect man that can sweep her off her feet and that doesn't mind being by her side every moment of the day. Normal. Well, to her it is. Doesn't compare to those of her friends, where they're going to parties every night and drinking and getting into a fist fight with their parents. ( she's pretty sure they were lying for that last one though ) She lived in a small, one story house with a mom, a dad, one older sister, and a yorkshire terrier named Phillip. Yes, mom and dad got into fights, but they made up and they all had a wonderful life together. She was never really super close to her parents, but since they were parents, she had to, to a degree. They always treated Mayli the best. 'Mayli this, Mayli that. Oh, Mayli's so smart. Did you see what Mayli did? Oh Zori honey can you take out the trash?' This was her entire life-- luckily she had music and friends to spice it up more, or she would've grown up as boring as her parents.
xoxo Zori payed attention to her studies diligently and remained at the top of her class every year. The girl wasn't a genius but liked to think of herself as smart She was sent to a boarding school for a couple of years before her parents couldn't afford it anymore, and she was forced to go back to public school. Mayli however, still remained in all her expensive programs because apparently she was smarter, which pissed Zori off. They both should get equal chances to show their strengths. She grew an attitude about it and always brought the issue up when her parents blamed her for something. It got her a lot of the stuff she liked though, which was good for her.
xoxo The two sisters were never really that close until Mayli moved out in the pursuit of work, and Zori went with her to try a new atmosphere. She's a attending the school here, which she unfortunately heard was horrible. Now, without parents to nag her about everything she can do what she wants, like she always wanted to. Because they live in a small house and are only two people instead of four, she can buy all the stuff her parents had deemed 'too expensive' in the past. She can buy makeup now, and can spend money on iTunes and clothes. Cricket is a kitten that was a going away present for Mayli from their parents, since they knew she would never be living at home again. The kitten is extremely nosy, wild, but loves everyone and likes attention. He hates dogs though, so if a dog comes near him, even if it's not a violent dog, he will attack it.Timothy the goldfish is very young, scrawny goldfish that Zor picked up upon her arrival at Nirvani. She wanted a puppy but she 'wasn't responsible enough.' D: He lives in a lidless jar of water atop her bedside table, and eats 3 flakes of fish food every day. His jar needs to be cleaned every two months, and also must be closed whenever Cricket is around. He seems to be a happy fish usually, but between that and any other emotion, it's almost impossible to tell the difference.
