The undead horse had had everything meticulously prepared, all was set and ready to go for the big night. It hadn't been easy hitching himself to his own carriage but he'd pulled off the feat, donned in as bright a turnout as one could muster in Halloweentown's gloom.
So the poor boy was baffled when, as he took his first jaunty step forward, he felt a jolt and then watched, deflated, as one of the carriage's wheels rolled away. He had worked very, very hard on his carriage and it was completely safe... For the most part! He sighed, he'd never be able to fix it in his natural form. Thus, what had started out as a quick ride to the ghost dorms, became a long toiling detour. But Efflo was determined to do things right, and once he was sure of the carriage's sturdiness, he set out once again, hoping desperately that the boil and ghoul had not left without him!
The sight was rather marvelous to see, the carriage polished so it's jet black finish gleamed, even in the darkness. Of course, the green glow coming from the effervescent equine might have aided it in its shine. He had groomed himself impeccably, even gotten some poor student to braid his bright mane and tie it with small ribbons. His skull was lit up with it's immoveable grin, though this time one could tell it befit his mood.
He proudly pulled up in front of the ghost dorms, searching for his first passenger.

A Cat must always make an entrance, and indeed The Cat found this was a sentiment to live by. He had long since received his acceptance, and had already made his way back to the school, crept into his dormitory to clean it up to his liking, and even had time to slip his name into a curious little box that offered a date to the upcoming Prom.
Ah Prom, he had said to himself. How gloriously perfect for an occasion such as this. An occasion for the occasion, rather.
It had been difficult keeping his presence a secret, of course, the urge to resist dropping any hints to his friends over groanspring had been a violent itch at best. But he knew it would be worth it. Receiving a wonderfully ornate letter concerning the results of his (not so) blind date was his green light, and, in his usual way, gathered the necessary components for an altogether sophisticated outfit, suitably designed to match what photos he could dig up of his date online. Certainly it was stalker-ish, but necessary, as he regarded it.
Furthermore, being invited to arrive at the prom upon horse and carriage was more then wonderful, and entirely the kind of entrance Cat was hoping to make.
He donned his outfit, carefully adjusting it to his standard, before he moved to await his transport out the front of the ghost dorms.
What he saw approaching was far beyond any speculated glory; the glowing green against smooth black was only further an accentuation upon his already perfect envisioning of his arrival, and as Efflo arrived, would be met with a very pleased Smile.
"My, aren't you gorgeous~?" Cat complimented in silken tones, bought to the best of moods by the occasion. "Are you my ride?"

Efflo beamed at the compliment, to carry such a handsome boil to the prom was an honor. He could only imagine how stunning the ghoul must look!
The zombie pony nodded his head, giving a delighted whinny. The sound was garbled and hoarse, but it got the point across all the same. He couldn't speak to other species in horse form, he hoped that the boy would understand. He should have thought to gather someone to be his driver, after all, it was only common courtesy to open the door for your charge. He chided himself on not thinking to do so but they were already running late, and for him to change and then try and get back into the harness.. Well, it would not look graceful and would only waste minutes of their precious time. He had to get them to the prom! He lowered himself carefully, bowing to the boil... He was at his service for the evening.
He tilted his head to the side, gesturing at the door of the carriage. He gave the front of the vehicle a swift kick, and the door popped open. Hah! he thought, he didn't need a driver after all.
The insides were lined in red velvet, the horse had worked his hardest to make their ride as luxurious as possible. Of course, everything did seem a bit old, and perhaps a little musty, but it still held its original grandeur. He'd wait for the ghost to get inside, then it was off to the Reaper Dorms.

The horse earned himself a small chuckle at his methods, and Cat stepped forward lightly to enter the carriage. The little efforts inside it did not go unnoticed, taken in with gleeful white orbs. But, ah, composure. One must always remain cool and aloof when attending a formal occasion; at least, Cat believed so.
Once he had shut the door behind him and settled in comfortably, he spoke again. "Shall we move along then~?"
He wasn't so disrespectful as to actually crack the reigns, but he was eager to see his date in person. Quietly, he hoped she had dressed as she usually did in the pictures he had managed to get his hands on, so that they would be co-ordinated. Either way, he was going to tie a ribbon or two onto her, as his own little touch to her outfit. It was only gentlemanly, after all.

Prom night had crept up so fast that Astra could hardly believe it. She had been hearing so much talk about who was going with who and rumors about what would be happening on the night that she could hardly wait for it. In the meantime, the fairy decided that this time, she would like to go with someone else rather then by her lonesome. However she didn't know anyone who she could go with, and as such had placed her name into a little box. Not long afterwards she had received word from riley that her date would be someone called 'cat'. and not only that, but she would be arriving on a horse drawn carriage. How exciting!
On the night of the prom, the fairy had spent most of her time before it making sure her outfit was perfect, her hair just right and her wings at their brightest possible colors. Once she was sure everything was set, she made her way to the front of the reaper dorms.
When the carriage revealed itself with effo cantering up the driveway, Astra could hardly believe what she was seeing. Never in her life had she seen something so spectacular! The carriage was so shiny she had to wonder how long it would have taken to get it to gleam so brightly. And the horse that was pulling it, she thought he would have given Calder a run for his money. It was obvious that he was a zombie, nut that didn't take away how brilliant he looked as well.
As soon as the carriage stopped inf ront of her, she clasped her hands together, a smile lighting up her features as she continued to stare in amazement. "Wwwoooowwwww~!" She exclaimed towards effo. "You look magnificent!"
