((Transcript of AIM RP between my Delacroix and Beejoux' Privet, to keep track of it!))

Delacroix walked down the forest trail. He was currently favoring one leg. He could feel a suspicious soreness developing and suspected that he had damaged a muscle in one of his forelimbs during his fight with the soquili and his rider. It would heal over time but for now it was an irritation. He was lucky to have gotten away so easily, though. He thought back to that encounter and to those arrows flying through the air past him. He could have been killed, all to save a stranger.

If he had died for a stranger, at least it would have been a pretty one. He smiled dryly to himself. He was actually starting to feel more like his old self than he had in months. Maybe a little fighting from time to time was good for him. In the midst of those thoughts, movement caught the corner of his eye. He had been seeing glimpses of something ever since the fight and was starting to have his suspicions as to who it was. Rather than calling attention to himself, he pretended as if he didn't notice and kept walking.

As the two had parted ways the dainty mare and lingered on the fields edge. Watching the stallion slipping away through the trees. There had been 'thank yous', there had been gushing graatitude, there had been an awkward silence or two, but now it was over.. Or was it? Frowning, she took a step towards the tree line, squinting into the shadows as she watched his departing form. Was he limping?

Oh no, she'd gotten him hurt! He'd said he was fine, but he wasn't. Now she just felt awful. Whining softly the flutter gave a frantic little beat of her wings, hovering as she sped after him only to slow as she entered the shadows. What if he didn't want to see her again, what if he was actually upset with her? Shoot. She didn't know what to do now that she'd gone after him, but she couldn't just turn around and pretend she hadn't seen. What if something bad happened to him?

In her distracted stalking her hoof landed on a brittle stick, snapping it. "Oh.."

Delacroix had intended on continuing to ignore his stalker until they worked up the courage to approach him. After hearing the loud snap behind him he didn't think he'd be able to wait that long. This was just starting to get ridiculous and he didn't think he could pretend to be oblivious well enough to carry on. He stopped still on the path and turned to face the direction the sound had come from.

"Hello out there," he called with exasperation. "I know you are out there, so why don't you just come out?" He leaned on his healthy leg and lifted his injured one slightly off the ground to give it a rest. He doubted he was going to be traveling much farther that day anyways. He might as well stop for a little chat.

"Hng!" The startled whine was quite audible over the so quiet ambiance of the forest, as were the softly mumbled curses that followed after before she slipped out of from behind the cover of the trees to linger beside them sheepishly. Glancing up at him periodically, but not quite meeting his gaze directly. This had been a bad idea..

"I.. well," she began, then trailed off, finally looking up at him in concern. "You're hurt." A small jerk of her nose indicated the favored leg, and she couldn't help but pout now seeing it up close. "You said you weren't..." Her reasons for following now seemed really silly. What could she possibly do for his injuries. She didn't have a unicorn's natural ability to heal, now even the soothing touch of a kirin's horn. She had nothing to offer him but worry, and really, hadn't he just had enough of that?

Was that the only reason she'd followed though? It was a noble reason, to be sure. Making sure he was alright. But was that all? Possibly not.

He had said that he wasn't hurt because he didn't really see that being fussed over was going to improve things. He was indeed trained for fighting but not so much for reckless acts of heroism. It felt a little strange that he had done it in retrospect and he didn't feel the need to prolong that slight awkwardness. Besides that, the pretty mare probably had a mate already. Mares like her usually did.

"Don't worry about it," he said casually. He extended and then flexed his injured leg as if to show that it was fine, though he felt twinges of pain when he did. A wince broke through his smile but only briefly.

"Are you sure you're all right?" he teased. "Maybe you had a little bump on your head and are wandering around lost? I am a unicorn you know. I could fix that." In reality he wasn't much good at healing magic, but she looked fine so he doubted it would be an issue.

She watched him as she flexed the leg, but only frowned further at the wince that managed to slip through the calming smile he was trying to project. Brows dipping dubiously as she continued to stare at him. "I can't just not worry.." She was pouting now, she knew it, but she couldn't seem to help it. He'd saved her, gotten himself hurt in the process, then lied about it. Was he trying to get away from her? She had just caused him an awful lot of trouble.

She blinked as he asked about her own state of health, straightening a bit. "I'm fine," she offered softly, dropping her gaze to her ankles. There were a few small scratches from when she had run through the forest in her hasty bid for escape, but nothing so serious as his own injury. "Just my pride bruised." Had she been a little bigger, a little faster, she wouldn't have needed to be rescued.

And on that note.. "I know I said thank you already, but it doesn't really seem enough in this case." She lifted her gaze once again to watch him through a veil of her own bangs. "I'd probably be dead if not for you." How does one adequately thank another for saving their life? Nothing came to mind. Any verbal expression seemed lacking.

Delacroix was coming to an understanding about why this mare had been stalking him. She was grateful but also a little shy at the moment. He noticed how her gaze slipped from her eyes to look at the ground from time to time. She was probably badly shaken up. That would make anyone a little hesitant, except for himself it seemed. He just felt the urge to be slightly obnoxious instead. It was odd how he was responding to a real battle after so long without one.

"Well I couldn't leave a pretty little thing like you in danger." He smirked at her with more self-assurance than he was used to in the days since he had received his scars. "It would be a waste to the world if you got killed, you know?"

Even with the sore leg he was standing straighter now. Yes, he did feel more like himself. He couldn't feel the bleak tension that had gripped him these past months. He wasn't glimpsing fleeting shadows out of the corner of his eye. He was simply living in the moment as he once was. He only wished he could make it last a little longer. "Some things are worth a messed up leg for," he cheekily confided.

Shaken was a bit of an understatement. The males rather bubbly personality was just a bit subdued, and though he was trying to make light of the situation all she could manage in response was a half hearted little smile. Pale ears flicking back to lay against her mane, only to twitch forward again as she realized he was complimenting her. "Pretty?" He thought she was pretty?

Cheeks flushing, dainty hooves shuffled a step or two. Teal gaze dropping as a slow little smile crept along her lips. He was complimenting her. No, more then that. The was flirting with her. She flicked her tail, chuckling shyly and taking a step forward. "You think so?" She ventured after a moment, elegant wings fanning slowly as she glanced up at him, smiling.

Whatever the reason for the kind words it was doing a wonderful job of soothing her frazzled nerves. "You say that," she mused. "But you don't even know me." Even as she said it she had to wonder why she was trying to sell herself short. Still, honestly.. "Not yet, anyways."

Instead of fading, the obnoxious feeling was only growing. If this is from the rush of battle, it's a little late, he thought bemusedly. If fighting made him obnoxious, it made the mare adorable. His crooked smile widened. He shouldn't take such amusement in teasing her, but he had just saved her life so figured she was better off overall anyways.

"Don't know you yet, eh?" he asked. "Does that mean this stalking thing is going to be a hobby for you?" She'd probably leave once the shock wore off. That was all. The pretty princess wanted time with her prince, but she'd learn better soon enough.

I wasn't a very good prince the one time I tried. That was a sobering thought but for once he didn't let it continue. His smile may have been strained but it was still there, just like the pretty little mare he had rescued.

"Oh," the dainty mare flushed again, this time bright enough for the color to show beneath the snowy fur of her cheeks. Stalking? She sort of had been, hadn't she. "Um." She wasn't sure what to say. Perhaps an apology for having followed him? Though he didn't seem to mind.. "Not Stalking," she squeaked out after a moment, ears rolling back again. Why was it so terribly difficult to speak normally with this stallion?! This wasn't fair! He didn't seem to be having any trouble talking to her.

That soft wash of pink radiating along her cheeks and nose didn't seem to be fading anytime soon. "Well, not unless you wanted me to?" A rather sound mental cursing followed what she considered a colossally lame response, but she did her best to keep her inner worries to herself. Smiling up at the scarred uni in what she hoped was an inviting manner. It may very well have come off as adoring, and while she did find him a rather handsome charmer she wouldn't mind getting to know better, it was likely a lingering effect of him having just risked his life to save her's.

The smile faded though after a moment as she noticed his becoming a little strained, and she wondered there in perhaps he'd only been being so very nice to humor her. "I won't though," she couldn't help but blurt out. "If you don't want me to." Rambling, she was definitely rambling now. Oh bother...

Though on another day he might have continued slipping down that slope into the negative emotions that generally clouded his life, something about this lovely lady kept that from happening. He jumped from strained back to bemused quicker than a blink and was soon smiling back down at the pretty little thing.

She was already offering to follow him around? She had developed a crush faster than he could have imagined. With all her embarrassed flushing he couldn't help but try to get a little more out of her. "Well I might let you follow me around, but only on one condition." He inclined his head toward her and his wave of bangs fell over one eye.

"What is your name, butterfly lady? I only let the pretty mares with equally pretty names follow me, you know." He should have gotten her name after the battle but somehow in all the rush had forgotten to. It was about time he found out who exactly it was that he had rescued.

Pale little ears had swept back t the state of his smile and her own mindless ramblings in response to it. Wings drooping down a bit before perking back up again as that strained curl turned genuine again. That was much better! She preferred that smile to the one it'd replaced. The way it lit up his face, the set of his features, it had the little dainty mare's stomach fluttering. Oh yes, she was definitely developing a crush.

He spoke, very possibly teasing her, but she could do nothing but lean forward expectantly. Ears perking with interest at the one condition he was hinting at. "Oh?" Surely she was coming off as eager, but there was a part of her that was beginning to wonder if she cared. So far it seemed it liked her attention, so why not happily stick around him for a bit?

"My name?" That was the condition? Easy! But.. Her name wasn't that pretty, at least she didn't think so. It was fitting, there was no denying that, but pretty? "Privet, my names Privet." And so long as they were working their way to proper introductions, she might as well ask for his name in return. "And you mister hero?"

"Mister Hero?" he chuckled at the sound of it. "Well! Maybe I like 'Mister Hero' so much that I don't want to give you my real name!" He wouldn't deny to himself that it was an ego boost. There was no stallion who wouldn't enjoy being called a hero under the same circumstances.

"But," he continued. "I suppose since it is such a mouthful to say 'Mister Hero' over and over I will give you something else to call me. My name... is Delacroix." The foreign sounding name rolled easily off his tongue and he wondered if she would be able to say it without mangling it. Some of the local soquili seemed baffled when presented with an unfamiliar name and he had gotten used to all sorts of variations upon it.

"Privet, by the way," his voice dropped low to an amused rumble. "Is lovely." At this point he would have complimented her on her name if it had sounded like a frog's croak, but he did think her name suited her. Short and sweet, just like the little mare was.
PostPosted: Fri Aug 12, 2011 1:32 pm

"Well if you really like it," she mused softly. Grinning up at him again. "I suppose I could use that in light of your actual name. I mean it's the least I could do, considering you did save my life." It was a bit of a mouthful though, so she was pleased when he relented and gave her his name. A rather tricky name at that.

Pale lips moved as she sounded it out in her head, determined not to butcher it when she repeated it back to him. "Delacriox, I like it." She chuckled then, stepping past him so the tips of her ears brushed the underside of his chin as she passed him. "Though that's also a bit of a mouthful as well, isn't it?" Perhaps she could call him Del? That was nice and easy, rolled off the tongue well.

She paused as he sad her name, glancing up at him with brows quirked. A lovely little smile blossoming soon after as he complimented her name. "If you say so." She liked her name, she just didn't think it fell under the realm of 'lovely'. He liked it though, and really that was what mattered in this case.

A flick of her tail sent curls of purple and pink around his ankles, teal ribbon floating about pathetically. All the running had caused the bow to slip, and it was only luck now that kept the thing from falling off completely.

Suddenly she was starting to act alluring. Delacroix wasn't quite sure where the transformation had come from, but he had to admit that he liked it. He certainly felt the small moment of contact when her ears touched him. He liked her when she was cute and shy and he liked her when she was alluring. He wondered if she might have even more intriguing facets of personality. These two might just be scratching the surface.

His smile grew a little more suave, then he noticed the slipping bow. "Hey, do you need help with that?" He gestured with his snout to point in it's direction. He didn't have much practice in tying bows but figured it was simple enough. She deserved to look pristine, not like she had just been running for her life.
