I it is mid morning, the sun has risen and the forest is alive.
Koeh sat at the edge of the forest, enough sun to keep him warm, but enough shade not to cook him. He has desired to be lazy today. Closing his eyes, he soaked in the rays. With a small sigh, he started into sleep.

 Riyana peered at the sun shining through the leaves. Today was a going to be a beautiful day. She softly padded through the undergrowth, simply enjoying the peace and quiet. Just as she reached the boarder of the forest she heard a soft sound - almost like a sigh. She froze, ears twitching and eyes wildly roaming the forest.
Finally, she noticed a green ulaya lying on top of a rock, enjoying the sun. She gave a half-smile, she completely understood the enjoyment of sun. It was so simple, yet so luxurious. She trotted closer and called out to the other ulaya "Hello, there..."

Koeh's ears perked up to the sound of others voice. He careened his head high and looked around. Spotting a female ulaya waling towards him, he stretched and yawned. "Hello." He called to her, stood and advanced towards her, careful to stay in the shade of the trees.

Riya smiled. Company on a day like this would be nice. "How are you on this fine day?" she asked, as they finally stood close enough to see each other properly.

"I am quite well, what brings you out to a place like this?" He walks up to her. Sniffing around her. "Hmm, you smell earthy, where are you from?"

Riya huffed slightly at his behaviour, and sat down on her haunches. What was this sniffing business - he hadn't even introduced himself! "I'd appreciate if we started with names first and then went on to the... sniffing business" she chimed, an eyebrow slightly raised, as composed as ever.

Koeh pulls back. "Well excuse me, missey" He moves his head in sass. He sits back on a rock. "I am Koeh, from the deep jungle." He looks right into her eyes. "And who may you be?"

Riya mentally cocked her head. This was a rather rude ulaya, wasn't it? Any well-bred ulaya would know that staring at someone as directly as he was currently doing was... well, rude. And then to go on to call her 'Missy'? Did he really have no manners? The only thing betraying her thoughts was an intense look of disappointment in her eyes. "My name is Riyana... you may call me Riya, if you wish".

Yep, he thought to himself. I have completely messed this up. Koeh broke eye contact and sighed lightly. "Umm, it is nice to meet you Riya..." There was hesitation in his voice. He had never encountered an other ulaya like her. She was as hard headed as he was, and he did not know how to handle her.
So, um... the weather is nice, yea? Koeh knew he needed to get on her good side if she was going to stay and chat.

This time, Riya actually DID c**k her head. First he was rude to her, and now he wanted to talk about the weather? What on earth was going through that Ulaya's mind? Suddenly she realised that he was trying to break the tension, and she blinked. Ah, he was attempting to be nice. Well, in that case, she wouldn't be the one to ruin the day.
She smiled "pleasure is all mine, Koeh... and yes, the weather is rather nice today, isn't it? I was just thinking it would be a nice day for hunting, actually" she trailed off and glanced around "but I haven't seen much prey, yet"

Koeh looked around. "Now that you mention it, I haven't either." Koeh thought for a moment, he had been out here for a couple of hours, usually he has been a deer, or a rabbit, or heard more birds. "It has been an extremely quiet morning." He spoke lowly, "kind of odd for these parts. Usually the warm weather and the nice breeze calls out most animals in the forest." He looked around in the forest, trying to spot any creature, but there was nothing to be found.

Riyana genuinely smiled this time. So he was capable of a proper conversation! No snarkiness, no superiority. 'He might actually turn out to be quite a pleasant fellow' she thought. "I haven't really been to these areas before, I've actually just arrived" she admitted, and then continued "so I don't actually know much about the area. I assumed it was just normal for these parts"
She shrugged "Well, if you're hungry, I'm pretty sure I saw some berry bushes back the way I came. Can't say what type, though, I wasn't actively looking, so I didn't quite notice" she peered at him "I'll be happy to show you the way, if you want".

"Sure," he nodded "They are probably wild blueberries or wild strawberries. Mmmm, I do love wild strawberries." He stood and walked next to her. "Um.." he hesitated, "Sorry about earlier, I was kind of out of line." Quickly changing subject, "So where are these berries, I am quite excited to see them. I have only eaten fish for days, a little flavor will be nice." He walked past her and turned his head to look at her, and smiled. "This way?" he asked.

"Don't worry about it" she brushed him off, although not unkindly "all is forgiven when one can admit that one was wrong" she offered him a sweet smile "I am not in the habit of holding grudges for no real reason". Sensing that he did not want to continue talking about it, she didn't delve further on the subject either, and let him change the subject.
"I do believe I saw both blueberries and strawberries" she agreed and nodded "you're on the right path". Judging that the path was big enough for the two of them to walk side by side, she quickly trotted up and then kept the same pace as Koeh. "I mostly live of fruits and other greeneries, but I can enjoy fish or fowl every now and then" she admitted, as the arrived at an area filled with lush berry bushes. "Well, lunch is served, I suppose" she grinned.

"Ladies First," Koeh smiled and laughed. "You know, I don't exactly remember ever come this way before. I usually take a path that verges from here, to go to the river." He let her get some berries, before getting some for himself. They were delicious. "These are wonderful, I am very glad you spotted them." He gulps down a few berries, "So, what brings you here? If you don't mind me asking."
