The past few days since Omi, her children and her friend had come to the swamp had made her sure that this was the place she would like to settle and live for the rest of her life. She loved waking up to the sounds of the swamp, the frogs chirping and the birds sinigng their morning tune. She adored the way the morning fog coated the land, and then washed away to reveal the muddy earth below. Her blue eyes had never shone so much since her cubs had been born.

One thing troubled the green lioness, the idea of her new name. It was not that she was scared of having her old name removed. In fact, she relished in the idea, as it meant she could leave everything about the old Omi behind, and start again. However, she wasn't sure as to how she could come to the conclusion as to what her true name was. Perhaps, she thought, she would seek out another member of the pride to talk about it.

It had been some time since she'd had a vision of her sons out in the world, and some time since she'd seen Fleance. And it didn't help her grandson Kou was now out in the world, and she'd had no visions of him yet. It...made her worry. She didn't worry often, not with the visions the spirits gave to her. But without those visions, or Fleance to comfort her, she worried. The almost delicate-looking lioness sighed and made her way to the water, hoping a swim might take her mind off things.

The sight of another lioness as she walked wasn't unusual. What was unusual was the fact the other female was one she did not really recognize, but had seen a couple of times in passing over the last few days. Ninon stopped, a bit curious...then changed her path to greet the newcomer. The Jini-msemi was a close-knit pride. Best she get to know her new pride-sister.

((Sounds good to me.))

Omi too, had noticed the brown and blue lion in passing over the past few days, but had never spoken before. She knew though that she would eventually, as everyone in the pride seemed to talk, no matter where you stood, unlike her old home. Omi smiled as she approached, she couldn't help but feel slightly nervous. Throught the last few days whenever she had had an encounter with another from the pride, she had always had Kito and Aiyana by her side, however, this morning, thanks to Aiyana's restlessness, the two had gone off to explore, leaving Omi to wander alone.

"Hi!" She started out as the two became close enough to talk. Her tail swished behind her as she introduced herself. "I'm Ominotago, myself and my family came here a few days ago and are hoping to call the Swamp our home."

Ninon smiled at the other politely, nodding in greeting. "Hello. Welcome home, than, Ominotago. It's always nice to have new blood come in." She sat herself down about a half-lion-length from the other, smile unfading. "My name is Ninon Anki, and I came from outside the pride, like yourself. Though I've been here quite some time now." She'd come into the pride as an adolescent, and had born two litters of cubs within the safety of the Jini-msemi now.

"It's taken me a while, and a lot of travelling, but this is definitely where I want to stay." She said. She was so sure that this was the place for her. It was a secure and friendly place. "It's nice to meet you Ninon Anki."

After a pause for a thought, Omi decided to clarify on her name. "Though Ominotago is not my true name, I'm yet to find it." This was the one thing that puzzled her. She was sure she would work it out at some stage though, just like everyone else in the pride seemed to have done. It would take some getting used to to be called by another name, but Omi looked forward to it.

The lioness laughed softly, a friendly sound rather than a mocking one. "No one knows their name right away when joining. But you will gain it, when the time is right." She smile was rather motherly now, instead of just polite and friendly. "It took me some time to gain mine...but it fit me well, and continues to, to this day." Her tail swished slowly behind her. "So might you be willing to share what sort of travels brought you here?"

"I see," said Omi, a little more hopeful now she had heard what the other had said.

"Of course. Where do I start." She began, her face thoughtful now, pulling in all of her past so she could form them in an interesting and coherent matter. She had been through a lot in her life so far, and sometimes remembering everything was a challenge.

"I was born in a pride called the Tete'boma. You may not know them, they're a small pride along the coast. My mother was a lady of the court and my father a lord. There, when you're born determines what sort of life you have." She frowned a bit, remembering how her mother had treated her. "I was the second born daughter. So she inherited my mother's title of Lady and I was labelled a commoner, and treated as such by my own family."

"I had to get out. So one night, after a huge fight with my mother, I told her what I thought of the pride and it's ways, and I left." She smiled. It was the best decision she had made so far.

"I travelled for a while. I met a Lion, he was nice but he was gone in the morning. Some time later I bore a litter of 3 cubs who have been with me ever since. One day one of my daughters found another lioness abandoned and dying and we helped her and she became strong again. Once she was healthy she decided to stay with us."

"Then whilst travelling I heard of the pride that calls the Swamp it's home, about it's people and their beliefs and I knew it was where I was meant to be." She nodded, that was her story, the condensed version anyway. "And here I am!"

Mention of the Tete'boma had Ninon VERY interested in the other's story now. She listened intently, and when the other's story was done...she nodded. "I have heard of the Tete'boma. My own mother was to join it...but she found another calling, and others who needed her more." She laughed softly. "I know I was bound for here early in childhood. The spirits gift me with visions, and they have never steered me wrong. It was those visions that led me here, and those visions that usually assure me of the safety of my family outside the swamps."

Except for lately. She truly was worried, but she would not let it show, not to one who was new. "I am glad you are here. The pride is always in need of new blood, and it's nice to have another friendly face about. Spirits know the world outside is lacking them."

Omi listened to Ninon's own story. "You're lucky to have known where you were going to go. I wish I did, otherwise I could have saved myself a whole lot of trouble." She sighed, not all of it was bad though, after all, she did come out of it with three beautiful cubs and a new friend and companion in Kito.

"I am glad to be here." She nodded, for she truely was, never in her life had she felt anywhere more at home and at peace. It was strange at first, to feel so at ease, and Omi had originally thought that it might be a sign for worse things to come, but she soon realised that the feeling was good, she'd just never felt anything like it before.

"But it is the trouble that shapes our lives." She looked a bit...sagely at the moment, almost grandmotherly. (Not surprising, considering she WAS a grandmother now.) "Even with my visions, there were troubles. But I am the better for surviving them." Just as the pride was better for surviving the murderer who had infiltrated them shortly after her own cubs had been born. It was the troubles that shaped their lives...and gave them their true names.

"That's true." Omi looked over to Ninon. She'd never thought of it in that way, but she was right. Her past was what made her who she is today. And like Ninon, she was better for surviving all that had been thrown in her way.

"Thank you for that." Omi smiled. She was definitely going to enjoy it here.

Ninon nodded. "I only said what was true, what you needed to hear." And she'd needed it too, apparently. Her heart felt a little lighter. And she found herself looking forward to the day when she could greet her new pride-sister with her true name.
