Basic Information

Main Info(current): As a youth, Eevair is an energetic dragon. She loves to fly around whenever her rider allows it, and also channels the energy into keeping Verd away from Tony. Eevair believes that she hatched in the care of Rykr, and isn't letting her strange dreams tell her otherwise, despite the fact that the dreams seem so real, almost memory-like.

Main Info(baby):Although still a baby, Eevair has gone through a lot. A week after she hatched, she was kidnapped. Now in the care of Rykr Rhoads, Eevair barely remembers life before the day she was kidnapped. Her family and old life is but a fading memory, and Eevair is now growing up as a true member of Drake Clan. She is learning utmost loyalty for Rykr and she will soon believe that her past was really just a dream.

Main Info(Egg): Eevair is the daughter of Nightheart and Kinark. She will hatch into a loving, stable family, with an older sister to look up to and parents that will always be there for her and support her. In fact, her life will be mainly free of troubles, both her parents supporting her and her siblings. She will be taught to survive on the streets and in fact, Eevair seems to have a great life ahead of her.

Eevair is rolling around and trying to break out of her egg. She is excited with a lot of energy inside her. Peace and quiet, it seems will all be a bore for her. The only time the egg stops rolling and shaking is when Eevair seems to be sleeping inside.

Other Information:

- Eevair's name comes from the French word for winter, "hiver". The spelling is to make sure you read it right in your head.

- As a baby, Eevair refers to Meadow's brother Valore as "Cousin Valore" because she doesn't know that Meadow isn't her biological sister and that Valore is Meadow's biological brother. She just thinks he's a close cousin or something.

- Eevair is Rykr's second dragon. His first is as of now is a minor character that I won't color who is an adult.

- Eevair has two biological siblings: Reshii and Azu.

- Eevair will most likely not take a life mate, since she has grown up in an environment where male dragons are encouraged to breed with several different females for the sole purpose of reproduction, not love.

- Eevair will start to have strange dreams involving her biological family when she's a teenager. She will not realize that they are based off of memories from when she had barely hatched until she is reunited with her biological family.

The Rider

Name: Rykr Rhoads
Gender: Male
Age: 43
Clan: Drake
City: Sanguine, spends some time in Port Draconia on occasion.
Personality and history: One could say that Rykr Rhoads is a nicer sort of noble. He has a sense of compassion and is not needlessly cruel. He is firm when necessary, however he has a soft spot for his son. Rykr enjoys challenges, and his newest challenge is raising a baby dragon almost straight from the egg.

Rykr grew up in Port Draconia with status and money on his side to allow him to pursue whatever he chose. This included occasionally being a sailor in his early twenties before settling down with a woman he met on his travels. Soon after, the woman gave Rykr a son, Verd, but unfortunately died during childbirth. Rykr was filled with grief but did not blame his son, instead deciding to give parenting his all to at least try to raise a good son in memory of his wife. While doing that, Rykr decided to go into dragon taming, eventually obtaining Tony, the first dragon in his family for a couple generations. Tony has a minor mental disorder that causes him to go on the occasional rampage, however Rykr knows how to keep Tony in check. While taming dragons, Rykr didn't realize that his son was growing up to be a terrible person. Despite having Rykr for a father, Verd had picked up some nasty traits from friends he made in Port Draconia, namely a lack of the compassion that his own father had tried to instill in him among other things. Rykr found out about this when Verd was taunting Tony and treating him like nothing more than an animal. Furious with the person his own son was becoming, Rykr had their things packed and they moved to the newly rediscovered Sanguine. This was when Rykr was 39. Both Verd and Rykr benefited from the change. Rykr had a chance to look at old tomes and learn from the ancient books contained in The Great Library. Verd learned to keep his mouth shut when he had a rather unpopular opinion, though he continued to taunt Tony.

At the age of 43, Rykr began to go through somewhat of a mid-life crisis, so he decided that it was high time to get another dragon. He decided to help a dragon that would otherwise be doomed to perhaps a more cruel or less fortunate master, and so searched in old alleyways where less savory people were known to do business. This is where he found Eevair. Little sobs of grief were being emitted from the small frame at being taken away from her family. The heart-wrenching image is what got Rykr to claim Eevair as his. The rest of the story? Well, that's in the future...

Eevair loved the world. It had only been a week since she hatched but she had already learned so much about the world around her and about her family. She had a mommy, a daddy, two sisters, and a brother. Eevair had already decided that she wanted to be just like her big sister, Meadow, one day. She figured she'd grow a clover marking or something that would signify her similarity to her sister, and she eagerly awaited the day she would wake up with a bright pink clover marking, or maybe a black clover marking. Whichever one would show up the brightest so she could show it off and say, "I'm just like Meadow! Look at my clover!" and everyone would agree that she was just like her big sister.

"
Tell me the story about how you found out about Cousin Valore!"

"Of course, Eevair! It was a lovely day, and I was in a meadow just outside of town, when Cousin Valore happened to find me in that same meadow. We became very good friends that day, and continued to meet each other. Eventually, he took me to meet his mother, and she knew who I was already because it turned out that we were related. It was the strangest coincidence..." Meadow chose not to mention just how close she and her brother had gotten during those meetings, nor correct Eevair on calling Valore "cousin". He was more like a cousin when it came to Eevair. Meadow decided she would let Eevair know the technicalities when Eevair was older.

Eevair loved it when Meadow told her stories. She learned the equivalent of life lessons from them, and took them as absolute truth. As Meadow told her the story about Cousin Valore, Eevair realized something. If she wanted to be just like Meadow, she would have to find a long lost relative! Well, this would be no easy task, if she took the meaning of the word "coincidence" correctly. She would have to start on it today if she wanted to accomplish such a lofty goal in the same timeframe as Meadow did.

Since Meadow was baby sitting while their mommy and daddy were out, Eevair waited until Reshii or Azu distracted Meadow's attentions from her, thus allowing her a chance to slip away as stealthily as a week-old hatchling could. Reshii was gonna be soooo jealous when Eevair found their long-lost relative, whoever it would be.

Inevitably, Reshii and Azu both demanded that it was storytime and therefore Meadow would have to tell them stories to entertain them. Eevair used the distraction to run away as fast as she could from the relatively nice alleyway that her family lived in. Eevair was quick on her feet, taking after her father in the aspect of being a good runner. To occupy her mind from the fact that baby dragons get tired easily from running, she was already thinking of who the long-lost relative would be. It would be a boy, so that Azu, Cousin Valore, and her daddy would have another boy to talk to. He would be a little bit older than her so she could listen to his stories and see if they held up to Meadow's stories(they wouldn't). He would be blue, like her, but with bright pink stripes and bright pink eyes. He wouldn't have stripey markings like her daddy did, but stripeys like her mommy did. He would have six legs like her brother and mommy did, and six eyes and lots of horns. Oh, and his feet would be white. And his name would be...

His name...

Wait....

Eevair suddenly realized she had no idea where she was in the middle of the metropolis that was Anstromi Village. Well, her big sister had to have gotten to the meadow outside of the city somehow, right? Right! So Eevair continued to ignore her growing fear, and the fact that she was starting to get a little sleepy, and continued on. She walked instead of running though, and looked around nervously. Huge creatures towered above her, with boring, tiny scales she could barely see. They were mostly monotone, but individuals ranged in scaletone from light and pale to dark browns. Some of them had reddish skin, too. They had tufts of fine feathers on their heads too, and some of the less curvy ones had feathers on their faces. Eevair knew what these towering behemoths were. Her mommy had told her what humans were, and one time had pointed one out to her. But her mommy never told her that there were so many! The number of them was so incomprehensible to her that she figured that all the humans in the world must live in Anstromi Village.

Eevair ran off of the sidewalk and onto the street, where huge metal monsters were traveling in straight lines. She shrieked in terror and ran across the street as fast as she could. Eevair realized that she was lost, and ran to a nearby alleyway. It for sure wasn't her home, but maybe someone nice lived in the alleyway. After all, she and her family lived in an alleyway, and they were nice. Maybe she would meet a new friend here.

Or maybe she would meet a big scary monster! Eevair sobbed at that possibility, and sat against the wall near the entrance of the alleyway. She started to cry, softly at first, before it turned into a full out bawl. Her sobs were loud and fearful, she just wanted to go home now after this little adventure...

"See it? Pretty little thing. Shame someone's lost it.... too bad for them, perfect for us..."

Eevair didn't notice the voices.

"So we just scoop it up in the net and add it to the load? Good plan."

"Yup. It'll get a great price over in Sanguine... everyone wants a dragon in that boring bookfest..."

Suddenly, Eevair found herself tangled in a net. She struggled, and her cries became louder and even more fearful. "What do you want?! I just wanna go home! Lemme go!" The humans were silent, seemingly unfeeling about Eevair's struggles. Eevair was simply exhausted from her little adventure, however, and so every struggle became just a little bit weaker, until her struggles were merely weak twitches, and she finally fell into a troubled sleep. Such was the inconvenience of being one week old.

With the two men leaving with the baby dragon in tow, they took Eevair away from her life. Away from stories of Cousin Valore, and stories of what flying is like. Away from her mommy and daddy and brother and sisters.

Eevair didn't realize that she would soon forget her cozy alleyway home with her mommy and daddy. And eventually, what she thought was unthinkable would happen: her role model, her cool big sister Meadow would become lost to her memories, and her entire world would be changed and flipped on its side..

Eevair awoke on a cold metal surface, inside a small metal prison. She opened her light blue eyes and looked around. It looked like she was in a dingy alleyway, but it looked very different from the alleys in Anstromi Village. Anstromi Village had modern alleyways, being a modern magiscience metropolis. This place looked older, with soft magical lights dimly lighting the place.

"
Mama? Papa? Reshii? Azu? Meadow? Hello?" she questioned into the dimness, though her advanced eyesight did help the lighting. There were shady characters walking through the alleyway, the alleyway having little stands and shops opened up against the walls. Trinkets, objects, books, and even a few pieces of armor were lined up on various stands. She looked around and found that there were other metal prisons, with other dragons. Some of them looked older than her, and some of them looked younger. One baby dragon was quizzically looking around, apparently having just hatched judging by the remnants of eggshell around its delicate body. Another baby looked to be too big for its cramped cage, probably at least a few months old then. It wasn't just regular dragons in cages, either. There was a baby dragon with limbs and horns like Mommy and Azu, and there was another dragon that looked like nothing Eevair had seen before. It had a long, slender body covered in feathery scales and soft looking feathered wings. It had no legs.

Her family was nowhere to be found, however. She remembered how she had gotten into this situation and began to make noises of anguish again. Suddenly, a human who was behind her yelled at her to be quiet and to keep her whining to herself. She choked back her sobs as best as she could and watched the shady characters walk by, not noticing that she was there, that she was crying, or that she was brightly colored.

She stayed like this for a few hours, waiting for someone to rescue her from the alley and they shady characters and the prison she was trapped in. Suddenly, there was a tall male human in front of the stand. He was talking with the human behind her. Suddenly, her prison was opened, and a collar was placed around her neck.

"Any funny business and this collar will magically shock her and make sure she learns her lesson."

The tall male nodded, and took her. Strong arms wrapped around her, and held her several feet above the ground. They obviously thought her docile enough to not require anything other than the collar. She was carried into a horse-drawn carriage, before being placed in the seat next to the male.

As the horses took off towards her new home, Eevair wondered if she would ever see her family again.
