The lone female pondered quietly to herself, how long exactly it may have been since she had last seen the topography of Telk. How many nights had passed since last she had felt the earth of Telk beneath her paw pads, the grass between her phalanges. She could not recall, for she knew it had been far too long.
If only she had not chased after that butterfly that day, her eyes often drawn to something else to chase like a rabbit before it hide in its warren or hummingbird flying low. A small journey that had led her on a bigger one, for something about the land just outside of Telk had been somehow, familiar. Yet in the time she had been away she had found none whom could explain the cold shivers that ran through her in one particular area.
She had decided after a time, that the past was best left there, in the past. She need not dig up any old skeletons to spook herself with. In truth, she was happy as she was and now as she walked relaxed o the lands of Telk, headed for the pack she'd met so long ago, YMCA she wondered how it had changed and if she'd still be welcome there.
Feeling the breeze she stopped a moment to take a deep breath, lifting her head, eyes closed to the midday sun. She knew someday that the memories might return, but she did not need to go seeking them to force herself to recall something that she feared to learn.

Balios was feeling a little left out. He'd just had the bad luck to stumble into something he hadn't wanted to see -- a rather nauseating display of affection between his grandfather and a wolf closer to Balios's own age -- and now he felt both confused and a little indignant.
Also, bored.
More and more lately, Balios had started feeling incredibly bored with sitting still. He wanted to do nothing more than wander, and meet people, and have a good time.
So when his nose caught the scent of another -- and a female other, to boot! -- he shifted his path to intersect her. Little did Balios know, someone had beaten him to his prize.
Anatto was an expert tracker. It was hard to tell where, exactly, he had picked up the skill -- it seemed to come naturally to him. Since he was an infant he'd always been in the habit of trailing people without their knowledge, and he had gotten so good at it as a young adult that hardly anyone seemed to see him unless he announced his presence.
He liked it that way.
He lingered in the undergrowth, bright copper eyes watching the female thoughtfully. She didn't look like anyone he had seen before. He wondered vaguely if she was one of those bitches from Antianeira, but he didn't think that was the case. She seemed softer than that.
Debating whether or not he wanted to make his presence known, Anatto finally sighed and slipped forward, growing visible as he shook leaves from his burnt-orange-and-brown pelt. "Lose your way?" He asked, without preamble. "Or just enjoying the view?"

The fawn and ebony femme, had not taken note that anyone had been following or watching her. Perhaps because they were that good, or perhaps because her guard was down, maybe a bit of both. She was just so relaxed, as though without a worry, simply happy to be alive and back in Telk.
She was headed possibly, for the YMCA pack that she had visited, a very long time ago. She hadn't visited very long and really didn't remember anyone all that well, just that it was a nice pack with nice members. If not for leaving to seek out memories, she would most likely have remained there.
Being brought from out of her thoughts as she heard the sound of rustling leaves, she turned her head, opening her blue-green eyes to stare at a dark brown wolf, with an intriguing pattern of cream and gold-brown like colors. She didn't know him, but with a blink of her eyes she bowed her head in greeting.
Answering his question however, unaware that this was not the only wolf within the vicinity she smiled, ”I do not think that I am lost, quite the contrary. Though the view of the area is quite splendid. Though, do you know how close I am to YMCA? It's been so long since I last was there...” Had it been more than a year? Perhaps even longer?

Anatto looked over her for a moment before answering. Something ticked behind his coppery eyes. He debated whether to joke with her. He was prone to deadpan humor that tended to get him in trouble as it was often rather ill-spirited.
"YMCA?" He asked, finally, feigning ignorance. He tilted his head. He had no idea who she was, and she didn't look immediately familiar -- so not a member of his rather large family (although, he reminded himself, most of them were really Balios's family -- his own inclusion was an afterthought at best or a technicality). So, on principle, having someone search it out by name seemed highly suspect.

Kayeli, unfortunately for her, did not know what the male was thinking. Nor did she know that he himself came from the place in which she was headed. Perhaps, she could have found her where there alone, but it might well have taken some time as it had been so long since she'd last been near.
She slowly gave a nod of her head, “Yes, YMCA. I can't remember exactly, but I think I was there maybe a year ago... shortly before that I'd met someone named Merrill and Derecho. I don't remember everyone's name though, but I recall briefly meeting Chivosi and Menelaus. I don't know if any of them stepped outside their boarders often, but perhaps you have run into or heard of them?” She knew not how they all fared or if they even were all still within YMCA, but it was there she longed to return, having felt welcomed there.
Still, she'd been too curious about her past and had returned to where she could remember, seeking a past that she might never be able to recall and had found no one who might have been able to inform her.
She prayed that they all were still well though. Derecho had been an adolescent then, but by now, he'd have been an adult, she was certain of that, after how much time had elapsed. Though she somehow doubted that they would remember her, for she had not been there very long before, but now, she wished to remain there – forevermore.
She suddenly realized something and proceeded to introduce herself, "Sorry for not introducing myself before, but my name is Kayeli. I've only just returned to Telk...so I haven't been able to keep abreast of news or information regarding those within Telk."

Menelaus? His brow furrowed. He didn't know the name, but he was vaguely aware that Balios had an absentee grandfather on his father's side. That must be who that was. Galahad's predecessor.
"Anatto," he said, then, and after a moment of thinking about it, "I know the wolves you're talking about. I've never heard of you, though."
Then again, a year ago, Anatto had been a twinkle in his mother's eye. Well, no, he couldn't say that. That would imply some desire for him to exist that his mother most certainly had never had.
"Where have you been, then?"
Directness was something Anatto was quite good at.

Now, while she was often on the quiet side, she had to speak after all, in order to gain information and to respond to any questions asked. Even though, she might have wished to shy away, "That's because, I wasn't there long, so didn't become of any importance." Not that she would have become important anyway. Just another to help in any way she could, but those of true significance, there names would be remembered. She just, wasn't one for talking much, though her actions, might speak louder than words.
"It's nice to meet you though, Anatto." She didn't remember him either, perhaps a newer member, maybe even born there, for all she knew, having been away so very long.
She blinked, and lowered her head. "Chasing after memories, the truth, but they still never returned. I only know from where I'd come, not what had happened to those who'd been my family and pack. I can see them in my nightmares, but all memory of them otherwise, is gone. I could find no trace of them either, so either they've passed on, or gone far away from the place of massacre."
She closed her eyes a moment, then lifted her head back up, opening her eyes and smiling, "Perhaps I'm not meant to recall any of it, so I determined that here, in Telk, was my true home and that I wished to return to the YMCA pack."
Expelling a sigh, "Though I was there only briefly before, so I doubt many, if any remember me. It's also rather easy to get lost, due to how long its been and how short a time it was that I spent there.
Since you know who I'm talking about, are they well?" She hoped they were.

He nodded, considering this. So she had gone searching for her past and found nothing but bones. That was terrible; he could feel his heart lurch at the thought, but this did not pass over his features, and he avoided comment. "YMCA is an easy place to return to," he said. "They're welcoming, I mean."
If he had been about to answer any further inquiries, or make any further comment, he was interrupted by the sudden arrival of his cousin breaking through the undergowth. Just looking at them, they didn't share much physical similarity...but there was a hint of familiarity between them, all the same, and they both bore the same pack-scent.
Balios halted, glancing curiously between Anatto and the female, whose name he had overheard to be Kayeli. Getting a general gist of their conversation as he approached, he cast a broad, confident smile to the female. "Greetings, friend. I understand you are searching for the border of YMCA pack lands?"
He ignored the look Anatto shot him, a look that said, 'hey dummy, stop butting in like you own the place' and kept his eyes instead on the female. He couldn't help notice that she was a very lovely shade of brown.
