Jude wandered out of his room after poking his head out the door first and taking a glance around as if making sure someone wasn't standing in front of his room before the rest of him followed out of the room closing the door behind him. He wasn't ready for another run in with that female hunter that had 'unknowingly' helped him find the floor his room was on. He adjusted his uniform a little bit before he began to wander down the hall. He wanted to just wander around a bit more so he could orient himself to his surroundings.
It was unnerving when he got lost the first time.
He also wanted a bit of fresh air before he went about his next task that was awaiting him. Jude paused at the stairway going down once he reached it and he took a quick glance off toward the side as if to make sure someone wasn't following him suddenly with intent to sidetrack him somehow.

What he did see was a skinny man in a Sun Hunter uniform sitting just outside a dorm doorway, frowning intently down at his cell-phone with a troubled expression.
Weapons Initiation Ceremony?
Only if they felt ready.
He was certainly not sure he was ready... he had just gotten here, after all. What if he failed? Would they put him back in his pod? He could at least hope there would be a spot for a janitor at the very least. Whistling and polishing the floors sounded better than an eternal coma.
Suddenly, he sensed someone approaching and it was as though a switch had been flipped, his face lighting up as he glanced up to the long haired young man peering out of the stairwell, and gave him a smile and a wave, "Oh! Hello there!"

It wasn't unusual when people kind of got lost under the radar of Jude. Mostly because while he prided himself on paying attention sometimes it just kind of slipped and failed or the other person suddenly just appeared out of nowhere. Either way Jude was a bit flustered and surprised to see the young man there with the bright smiling face of his much in contrast of his own mostly neutral expression.
At least it wasn't someone that would tease him again - he hoped.
Jude shifted his stance a little so he could face the new person he couldn't recall seeing but then there were so many new faces floating around him it was hard to keep track of them all. The young man tried to be friendly as he spoke, "Um. Hello there. You...uhh..."
He felt so awkward interacting with others, "..Err..How are you?"

"I'm doing alright! Still alive! Hahahaha!" The Sun Hunter beamed, adjusting his glasses as he got to his feet, closing the cellphone before motioning to it, "Just a bit concerned about er... did you get that text message? About the weapons?" He was still smiling, but anxiety made the grin tremble about the edges. Before Jude could make a clean get away, he was already striding towards him, a hand offered out cheerfully, "Jerry Collins, by the way! It's a pleasure to meet you! It's all very exciting isn't it?"

"That's ... good," Jude offered a small awkward smile before it fell to his default expression once more. He wasn't sure what to make of this other individual at the moment but at least they seemed nice enough but they had a very nervous energy. "Yeah...I got that too. I'm actually going out to get a breath of fresh air to help me prepare for it..."
The stranger walked toward him and he stared down at the hand before he reached out to grasp it. Jude wasn't unfriendly he just looked that way most of the time, "I'm Jude Hargrave," he replied not seeming too worried about what Jerry would do with his name if anything. It was probably the bright cheerful personality that made Jude trust Jerry straight away.
"Mmm, yeah. It's pretty exciting I guess," he responded to the question though he supposed soon enough all of this would become routine and they'd all become bored. He shifted from one foot to the other wondering what to do until he finally blurted out, "Want to walk with me or something?"

"Oh! Er... I'd be happy to keep you company," Jerry grinned still, flashing clean white teeth as he fidgeted with his jacket, "I'm ah... not quite sure I'm ready to go in myself," He flushed a bit, clearing his throat, "I missed the first training exercise, I heard it was a doozy! But um... I wish you the best of luck! Have any idea what sort of weapon you'll choose?" He laughed again, before shaking his head with disappointment, "Fresh air. If you like fog, I guess. You'd think on an Island we'd have sunnier weather and... well... beach time."

"If you want. Don't feel pressured or anything," Jude said blinking a bit still caught a bit off guard by the other's oozing cheerfulness and optimism. The young man smirked slightly and shrugged, "I'm not ready myself, or I'd have been there already. I think we shouldn't wait too long, though."
He started to wander down the stairs so that they could get outside, "Mmm, it was something alright. I know we're supposed to be Hunters and stuff but it was a lot to throw at people after...waking up, but I guess they felt we could handle ourselves..." Perhaps he was putting too much faith into the people that ran the establishment.
"I don't know what'll happen when I go in there, I'm just hoping it doesn't come with more threats to my life or sanity," Jude replied as he got to the bottom of the stairs and started moving toward the door that led outside.
Jude seemed thoughtful about the island commentary before simply saying, "It's fresher than the air in a crowded city."

Jerry fidgeted, but followed by young man all the same, "It's no trouble! I haven't really explored the campus much, really. I've been doing some jogging, but mostly er... around the hallways of the residential building, hahaha..." His expression faltered a bit, tinged with concern, "You... don't think it's a good idea to wait? I suppose... I might consider it." What sort of weapon would he find, anyway? "I'm er... not sure what I would wield. I'm certainly NOT very good with a mace," His face went a bit pale at the thought of what damage he HAD done with his temporary weapon. He had nearly beaten a young woman to death. He hadn't really meant to, but he supposed he had just... gotten carried away.

"You trying to keep in shape?" He asked in regard to the jogging, he didn't know why else someone would jog other than to relax somehow but usually people did things like that to get or stay in shape. He assumed Jerry did so to stay in a shape of some sort.
He paused at the door and glanced at the faltering expression, Jude shook his head a bit, "No it's fine to wait. I just would try not to take too long about it. I mean what if a mission happens and you're left without anything to work with...The weapons must be special if they are making us go through such an ordeal for them..."
Jude seemed actually chuckled a bit, "I kept hitting myself with my mace for the most part. I opted for fists or a stake when I got a hold of one," he replied feeling slightly 'off' about the feeling of amusement and laughter but not showing it. The young man opened the door and started to head outside.

"Er... keep isn't probably the right word," Jerry gave a bashful look, straightening his glasses as they stepped out into the cool foggy air. "Er... Gain I suppose? Shape? Um! I figure if I'm going to be a soldier, I might as well start preparing for battle, right? I tried pull-ups but ah, that didn't work out very well. I probably should have gone hunting for a tree or something, but I figure if it's an island there probably aren't very many branchy sorts, but Miss Candace says I should probably stick to jogging and push ups and the like." He cleared his throat, smile returning despite his embarrassment, "There's... not much else to do beside read around here when we aren't on Missions, it would seem, so it seemed like a good idea.."

Jude actually paused and gazed over at his companion and took in their physical appearance before uttering a light, "Oh," and then continued walking again with his arms crossing over his chest thoughtfully and uttering a light, "I guess that makes sense to want to be built up for future missions."
Whoever Candace was they probably were right with their assessment to Jerry but still...
"Well maybe if you build up actual arm strength you can do pull-ups? I mean it is all in the arms...Just don't hurt strain yourself or whatever," not that there was a lot to practice pull-ups on. Whatever.
The young man took in the foggy air as he started to wander a bit more forward almost cautiously, "Mmm, I think we're meant to make our own entertainment," he replied quietly, "but who knows maybe there is a hidden room somewhere full of stuff..." he said vaguely as he raised up a hand and gestured at the air in a dismissive fashion, "I pretty much just read."

"I miss the radio," Jerry sighed wistfully, "I was saving up for a laptop, you know? I wanted that super duper Radio um.... Sirius? The one that gives you a million channels? I don't suppose there's any stations here, it would ah... give away our positioning or something I assume."

Jude seemed thoughtful for a moment as he listened to Jerry before he replied, "Yeah probably, but I think some sneak small things by like um those mp3 players or whatever, but now that we're here that's become a bit harder to actually get...?" the youth shrugged as he stared skyward a bit, "to be honest I am not going to miss any of that. It's quiet here other than the few Hunters that are more...active," Jude nodded a bit.
"...Not that I don't like people, I just..." Jude trailed off a moment before he continued, "I like the quiet a bit more, that's all."

"Quiet drives me mad, hahaha," Jerry gave an awkward smile, trying to enjoy the view, but the fog made it difficult. "But I ah... assume we'll come to really appreciate the quiet? Between missions, I mean. From what I've heard they're very er.... " He struggled for the right word, a hand floating in the air as though trying to catch it, "Exciting?" He settled for that.

"Does it? Well, you do seem the type that like a lot of people around him, at least you have the cheerful personality for it," Jude observed quietly. He listened to Jerry talk and nodded a bit, "Exciting would be one way to put it. I think we're all so disorganized and we don't quite...trust each other yet," the young man said to the other man.
They'd spent so much time alone or in factions on the island. It'll be hard to become a cohesive group it seemed.
"But that's why this place is here...to help us learn and get used to each other, right?" Jude asked allowing some hope to be etched into his voice.
