That is very interesting and helpful.
Hate to say this but as of lately I felt like I had a problem with that and couldn't really think of a way to overcome it.

Same I can do it in my short stories, but RP posts become a bit lacking...

Practice makes perfect? The thing with text-based RP and writing on a computer is time and capability to edit without redoing such as with a typewriter.

This is a problem with my writing that I've really been trying to fix. xD I'm too damn straightforward. I see all this flatness in my writing and I don't know what to do with it. I like this article, though... it's helped me further identify what I need to work on.

Yay! I found something useful!
Oooo shiny new titles under user-names in guilds.

The idea is pretty strong but the examples could be better. And the amount of detail you give in writing is always as subjective and personal as your own style. Furthermore it entirely depends on the context ... none of which is given.

My goodness girl are you going to nitpick at every little detail in everything that is posted and naysay it in hopes of bringing up some debate or conversation?
Although critiques are most welcomed in most cases throughout this guild I personally feel that if you're going point out such flaws, then I believe you should provide us with what would make it better.

I'm not nitpicking. I said the idea is strong. It just lacks context.

Then provide it. If you feel that something is lacking wouldn't it be right to fill in what is missing?
That into consideration that someone will look to this thread for guidance and reads that article in hopes that it will help them to improve. But if the article is lacking context then that person seeking the knowledge is not receiving all of the information that could be provided.
Although it is not our sole duty to educate others we could at least provide what we can. It just doesn't do to look at someone's work and call it lacking without providing reason as to what/why it lacks or why we may feel that way.
To be crude that's just taking a s**t on the good intentions of others.

Your reaction is extreme.
I'm not saying there is anything wrong with the posts. I said that context was missing. I was not aware I would have to explain that context in this environment are things like, setting, characters, situation, urgency, mood and type of material.
It's all well to say more is more. But sometimes more is less. For my personal taste (another context - that being audience) I personally think some of the lines were a bit wordy. So it's most absolutely interesting but not always a good way to go. That's all. No one is shitting on anything. And I find it insulting that you're ignoring my good intentions.

You'll get use to me and my reactions.
All that I was saying was that it would be more helpful if you provided an example.
If I were ignoring your good intentions I would not have posted the second time or now. I'm just having you expand upon them.
Can you honestly tell me that you wouldn't be interested in the opinion of the one person who gives a negative vote to a book or movie everyone else is praising? It helps that they explain or else you'll just feel like they are saying otherwise to go against the crowd and be in the minority. And I am saying that as an example not using that to personify you.

Cool.
I'm new to this guild but I hope you'll become aware that I'm not a troll and I don't ever intend to go against others. I am just opinionated and by no means green to writing! So I will offer my opinion on open threads where it seems appropriate in a hope that it will help. C:

I noticed that you are new. You seem like an educated sort of troll and I don't mean that in a malicious way, it's just that currently I can not think of the proper name or term.
In my honest opinion you seem like the type who can start a long and thorough debate or discussion with excellent reasons and poignant wit to back your reasons. And secretly you may 'get off' on it when you stump someone or cause them to do the proverbial 'rage quit'.
I'm the same on other forums and sites.
You'll be fun to have around if you chose to stay. The activity here comes and goes and so do the members.

I don't troll. Feral Knight trolled me. I stood up for a stranger in a guild I have no allies in and he attacked my point of view. (Despite the sharpness of my point of view).
From my first post I was met by dull argument and a jaded perspective ... I find all of this an interesting introduction to your guild. Not sure if it's the guild for me to be honest. Stupid pisses me off.
And I don't get off on people rage quitting. Sex gets me off. I do enjoy testing my ability to read people on the internet. But that's as far as it goes for me.
Every guild on Gaia that I have been in has activity like the tide. :/ Makes running a guild a really annoying position to be in.
