:: Assignments, Quests & Duets

:: Assignments are faction-based adventures characters must accomplish in order to achieve rank. They are jobs done in the name of their chosen faction(s). Players can complete Quests or Duets while furthering the goals of a faction or achieving its objectives, and in doing so, they complete the Assignments and can be promoted. Some ranks require a character to complete multiple Assignments in order to promote. If it helps to think of it as such, you can consider each Assignment as requiring 2 "promotion points."
:: Quests (open group RP) can be completed at a 1-to-1 ratio for Assignments: 1 completed Quest means one completed Assignment, which means a promotion. If it helps to organize it, you can think of Quests as being worth 2 "promotion points."
:: Duets (private RP) can be completed at a 2-to-1 ratio for Assignments: 2 completed Duets means one completed Assignment, which means a promotion. If it helps to organize it, you can think of Duets as being worth 1 "promotion point."
:: The Arena functions specially. Since rank is gained by combat, a certain number of Fights are expected of arena combatants. Since Fights are likely shorter than Quests or Duets, more of them is required for balance.
