:: Improving a character's skills is an easy process! All you have to do is follow these guidelines:
tabtabMake Character, Determine Skills: I assume you've done this, or you wouldn't BE here.
tabtabParticipate in Quests: Your character needs to be out and about questing to earn Experience (EXP).
tabtabSave and Spend EXP: You can hoard your EXP, or spend it (which is recommended) to increase your skills or learn new ones.

:: Spending Experience requires you to have enough EXP saved to afford the improvements you desire! Make sure you post to the Skill Advancement Archive to announce the changes you make, and also record all changes in your character thread, with the following information.

Experience

- Total Accumulation
- Remaining
- Spendings

:: Accumulating Experience is not a difficult task, but it can be a long one, and requires dedication and patience.
How much your character earns is dependent on what they are doing.
tabtabQuest Outing: 1 Point (for less than 2 pages) per participant
tabtabQuest Adventure: 2 Points (minimum 3 pages must be reached) per participant
tabtabQuest Saga: 3 Points (minimum 6 pages must be reached) per participant
tabtabDuet Short Quest: 1 Point (for less than 2 pages) per participant
tabtabDuet Long Quest: 2 Points (minimum 3 pages must be reached) per participant

:: Group and Duet definitions, for those curious and in need of clarification as to what a "Quest" RP and a "Duet" RP are.
tabtabGroup: A group RP is an faction or free for all RP that anyone can sign up for if they meet the prerequisites. It should have at least three/four players participating.
Group RPs are broken up into three distinct sub-categories, that all belong to the Quest category. The "Quest Outing" is for short RPs with a simple or limited task or purpose; "Quest Adventures" follow a series of objectives, or storyline; and "Quest Sagas" are for long-term, full-on tales that may include much travel, war or exploration.

tabtab(If a group RP loses members over time due to inactivity, those who continue to participate in the thread will still earn the full EXP reward upon the RPs completion.)User Image

tabtabDuet: A Duet RP is a private RP with a small number (two or three) players involved. Duets are intended to be faster-paced and short, and thus cannot earn as much EXP.
Even if a Duet extends beyond three pages, the maximum amount of EXP that can be gained from it is 2. Duets are meant to help foster interaction between characters more so than provide EXP gain, but that doesn't mean a pair or trio cannot go out and adventure together or pursue a private storyline!

tabtabSolitary: One does not earn EXP by writing on their lonesome, so go and interact!

tabtabQuests and Duets are necessary to undertake (and complete), so that characters can complete the Assignments required by the factions and promote. See the (link)Faction Promotion Guide for details on how Quests and Duets effect your characters rank!

:: That's it! No, really, that's all there is to this. Enjoy your character improvements!
