The entrance to the dreaded large town, the dreary evil that lies within this town shall surely be discovered by its inhabitants, or rediscovered in some cases...welcome home...or welcome back...to Hell!!
Map:
Picture the entrance into Paleville like this, on the road above where Harry crashed his jeep during the first game. There is also the entrance to the side of the lake from South Vale nearby , but that would take starting from that area of the town, going through the Amusement Park and sewer inside the town, unless you are a member of the cult, or a monster, you cannot start out at any other part of the town, if you intend to join the story, you must post here though, at least with your main roleplay character. Note: NO characters teleporting around in the Otherworld like Travis Gradey or Alex Shepherd. There are rules:

Quote: Not sure of any official sources of the term "mousou sekai" off-hand, but we chatted with Jeremy Blaustein recently, who said that's what the original team called it. He also confirmed that the original team did NOT have multiple dimensions in mind. ~TwinRealityChannel

Prologue:

CH-1: Welcome back to Hell
A dark fog hoovered over the entrance to Silent Hill, two long years have passed since anybody outside of the Cult has entered this town. Darkness and fog are all that are visible. There is dark whispers within the shadows that speak of a secret within a family that lives half a days drive from Silent Hill. The family are known as the Mercers. Suddenly, particular circumstances have driven the family out of their home, there is a particular Seventeen-Year Old boy by the name of Ian, Ian's Dad had been driving him, his mother, and his sister around for hours; something was seriously wrong. Contact with his grandparents, and his cousin had been cut off for a few years due to some fight that occurred.
Ian and his sister had just packed up on short notice and were leaving with their parents, what worried Ian the most was that they were bringing weapons with them on the trip. These weren't specifically hunting weapons either, his dad encouraged Ian to bring his katana along. It wasn't an antique weapon, it was a serious weapon.
Sitting in the back seat of the car, Ian and his sister continued to feel the tension rise in the atmosphere. Sitting to the right in the back seat next to Ian was his sister, Elizabeth, she was two years older then him and was likely just as worried as Ian was. His mom was sitting in the passenger seat, right next to their dad who was driving, a typical thing.
Ian looked around outside as they drove quickly down the dead silent highway. The area around them seemed rarely traveled, they hadn't seen other vehicles pass for hours, and the road up ahead looked like it lead into a large forest.
Nobody talked much in the car, for hours, the tension rose, and fear played upon the family and the only thing that Ian and his sister knew was that they were going to Brahms, somewhere passed Toluca Lake up ahead. Ian looked up in the back seat as he couldn't help but see a green sign that said, "Silent Hill, 1 mile away." Ian had to speak up with concern, it was suddenly getting much colder, the air began to make Ian and his sister shiver, and it was suddenly snowing mildly, not to mention that it was getting quite foggy outside. The fog was so thick that it was hard to tell if they were still on the road.
Ian: "Hey, Dad, do you know where you going even? We are heading towards Silent Hill, I thought we were heading towards Brahms. Just where the hell are we going!?"
Just then, Ian's father slowly took his right foot off of the gas pedal until they came to a complete halt, Ian's sister then protested as well.
Elizabeth: "Yeah Dad, just where are we going exactly? You've been quiet since you said to pack up and prepare to leave. Just what is going on? Something serious is going on isn't it? Are we in danger?"
Ian's Mom: "Son, watch your mouth, just stay calm, everything is going to be okay."
Ian's Dad turned around to look at them and replied,
Ian's Dad: "Well here is the thing, we are lost at the moment, but don't worry, we are almost there, we just made a wrong turn. The last time I checked the map, Toluca Lake was just a cut through the side of Silent Hill, then around to Brahms. We'll be there before you know it. I'll turn around near the end of the road."
Then without saying more, Ian's father turned around and put his right foot back on the gas pedal then they sped off again, as they proceeded down the road, a strange feminine figure began walking in the road, when she looked at them, her piercing red eyes struck fear into the father's heart, he tried to turn the car away from her path, but to no avail. The car began to turn off the road, then nothing. Everything was pitch black, not a cry for help, no Ambulance sirens, just darkness. The haze seemed to go on for eternity, the boy could of sworn he heard his sister cry out, This darkness was foul, it was tainted with the smell of iron. As the boy finally began to come to, he rubbed his eyes, his vision was blurred, but it returned within a few minutes or so. Ian suddenly felt a sharp burning pain on his head, Ian reached up with his left arm to feel it, he was greeted with an alarm as he got blood all over his hand. In the weird haze that his mind had been in for the last few moments, he suddenly remembered that his family and him were riding in this now empty car, his sister and parents were gone. There was a large hole in the glass on the window to his left, and there was blood soaked on the passenger seat. Ian looked down at his feet to see that his katana was still there, he grabbed it by the sheathe, and then lifted it over his left shoulder, he then noticed that a Magnum was in the car. His dad would be angry at him if he knew that his son was prepared to use such weapons, but he didn't have much of a choice, something wasn't right. As he put both of the guns in the pocket of his jacket, he couldn't help but notice that they must of been in a serious rush to leave those in the car, let alone leave him be. Did they go run for help, or were they scared away by something. Just what was going on? Ian looked around and noted that the sun wasn't showing through the thick cloud of grey around them, he noticed the flurries of snow that fell down on the concrete, and the ground, then melted. As Ian leaped out of the car, he walked around to the back of the car, and then looked at the trunk of the vehicle, it had already been opened, he noticed a radio, and a pocket flashlight in there, then put both in his pockets for the time being. While in his right pocket, the radio suddenly emitted a weird-static sound that made his blood run cold upon hearing it. He pulled out the radio and had a confused expression on his face.
"What is going on around here . . . "
Ian turned the radio off, then put it back in his right coat pocket. The boy then began walking up the dark foggy road, his head was throbbing due to the gash on his forehead that hadn't stopped bleeding. The cold air blew against the gash as he continued moving, it was so bad that he put his hood on and tightened it up with his straps. Finally, as he got closer to the town, he noted the green entrance sign that said, "Welcome to Silent Hill." Ian seemed a little weird-ed out so far, why was it snowing at this time of year? It was summer time, not Fall or Winter. Things made no sense, why would his family just leave him there? He hoped that it was just because they couldn't carry him or get reception for a phone and ran into town to get help. But as time passed, Ian stood right inside the town, not a soul was present, it was dead silent. The dead quietness began to further unnerve Ian with its presence, slowly, his heart began to race as he was presented with the fact that nobody was coming, he decided he needed to find a map or something then began to walk on.

A few empty bags and a once voracious appetite basked in the afterglow of a wonderful composite feast contrived of gas station sundries. Shailynne certainly felt better, but no less entrenched in a thick, primordial soup of melancholic unease permeating the viscous bile of foodstuffs half-digested in her insatiable belly. Her gloved hands tightened around the wheel. Usually, when she ate, a euphoric calm enveloped her in a love ladled haven where good memories and positive experiences radiated warmth in her core. Maybe the forethought of an unknown and unexplained force within the vicinity of death perverted a joy she cherished as much as her freedom. Her stomach gurgled and her abdomen tightened in an untamed thicket of doubt. She tried to shift her attention elsewhere. The road seemed to stretch onward to the white edges of oblivion. One repetitive yellow line after the other. A common feature shared by most roadways these days. Only this time, it was a bright yellow thread leading to the bio-hazard facility of Durm und Strang.
A soft sigh escaped her lips.
Then, with the possibility that she may not return, was the appalling notion of her unfinished work. Theories, data, research, and the rectification of the point she was trying to contribute to human knowledge, churned and eddied. It culled the growing sense of discomfort wound tight in her temples. She didn't know she was grinding her teeth before she caught herself. Who is going to finish all the work I accumulated? Regardless if her thesis made it out into the light of intellectual day, lay in the vestigial clutches of anonymity, everything she knew, wrote down, recorded, and lived would go with her. Beyond her raw reservations, she knew her fastidious approach to this mind raking series of events left caustic repercussions in the collapsing grooves of her sanity, unchecked by her deep-seated sense of self preservation. This trip was reckless. Stupid. Too emotional. But that's what she liked about humanity and how she lassoed life and seared her own brand into it. She chuckled. This is perfect as a case study. I'd be the best for it, anyway. It's not like I haven't been before. What was truly certain was the edge of uncertainty fate awaited her at the gates of Gehenna.
Among her throng of harried thoughts, one peaked out and rooted into her mind. It was a plea. A pure intention. An innocent inquiry. Am I...doing what I'm supposed to do? God...if you're there, if you can hear me...at least, somewhere, you'll get me back to my apartment, right? Hey, look, I know it's too late for me to just walk in and just ask something from you, but you know...I'm on my way to–whatever it is–would it hurt to ask for a little guidance? I guess, all I really want is not to be forgotten. I know I haven't been here that long and you haven't really rolled out the welcoming wagon until Daisy Villa, but...if I do end up going, to visit you up there, could you just make sure we all make it back?
An opaque nebula of grey-white undulated in massive rolling waves down the abrasive side of the immovable mountainside.
The road ahead was blanketed with a wavering sheet of heavy mist. She squinted out the wind shield. Her eyes widened. "Is that–snow? It's not supposed to be snowing in the middle of–?!" Dainty white flecks danced and landed on her wind shield. An impending wall of fog guzzled them in its broad sweeping tails and she noticed the temperature drop in the car. Visibility went under a sea of negative numbers. An inclination towards the demonic letter in between them plowed the collegiate's mind with planted unhealthy thoughts surmised the origin of anything abnormal to that damned note. However, she tried to keep her eyes trained on the road, but it was as if the fog didn't want them to travel any further; this monstrous, sentient thing ravaged the maintenance girl's sight and cornered all her senses into a claustrophobic panic attack.
"What is going on? I can't see a damned thing..."
Her foot unconsciously pressed into the gas pedal as dread filled every pore of her being. The icy tingle of trepidation made her body break out into nervous tremors. Sweat glazed her palms and the grip on the driver's wheel tightened. Her pupils dilated. "I, I can't see. This is beyond dangerous, I can't–!" The car sped up some more and she lost some feeling in her fingers she was gripping her steering wheel so tight. Her thigh throbbed. Perspiration coated the inside of her cap as her cheeks glistened and flushed.
The note's letters sizzled.Welcome Home She didn't have time to look at the letters when her world got sucked into a relentless tornado of metal against metal, sparks, and flurries of endless, dead white snow.

Heather sensed that Shailynne was becoming unnerved, possibly even shocked by the fog around them, it couldn't be helped, she warned her earlier of how bad this town was, but still...despite the illogical desire to find a father that she knew was buried at a graveyard, despite how insane it seemed to try, it would be worth it, to see her father again, he was the reason she needed to come here, the only reason that she even dared to come back here. Heather didn't think to doubt her other half's honesty, Alessa came there to greet her in her apartment for a reason, she knew somewhere in this damned town that her father was there, where exactly? Who could say, but she was determined to search the whole area and scrap it brick by brick until she found him. Shailynne's sense of panic became more apparent, so Heather turned to her and put her right hand on Shailynne's right shoulder, she didn't grip it hard, and was trying to be careful not to startle her. Heather knew that they must be somewhat close to Silent Hill now, how close? She couldn't say exactly.
Cheryl "Heather" Mason: "Hey! Try to focus! Yes, this is weird, trust me, I know. But this is nothing compared to the hell we are about to encounter inside. Even so, we aren't quite there yet. So calm down a bit alright? We don't want to get hurt out here, I doubt that anyone would come rescue us if we were severely injured in an accident. Take things slowly."
Heather could barely see anything on the road, the fog was so dense, they weren't all the way up the road yet, there was still quite a bit of distance to cover. Heather quickly took her hand off of Shailynne's shoulder so she could concentrate and put her father's journal in her back pocket, in front of them was a barely visible car in the fog. To their right side was the edge of the cliff, to their left was the rocky side of the mountain. The road ahead was too foggy to see much of the road ahead of them.
Cheryl "Heather" Mason: "Shailynne, you're getting a bit too worked up, try to calm down."
Just in case something bad did happen, Heather focused on the road as well, she would warn Shailynne if something threatened to hurt them.
Meanwhile . . .

Ian walked through the foggy town, not a soul was in sight, he wandered around aimlessly with his hood on and tightened up, blood seemed to leak slightly across the hood from the gash on his head, he looked around the completely quiet town with not one living thing in sight. The sound of the wind picking up was all he could hear, the cold air brushed against him, it continued to burn the gash despite the hood concealing it, the blonde hair in front of it didn't do much either. The wet snow began to slowly wear down the warmth of his jacket, slowly wetting the outer layer of Ian's jacket, he continued to walk down a particular road. As he reached the end of the road, Ian was shocked to discover that the road was out in front of him. The lack of a road in front of him shocked Ian, what could of caused that? At any rate, there was no way that his family had gone this way, he turned back and looked out at the entrance, he heard the faint sound of cars driving by, it nearly encouraged him to investigate, but they were strangers, perhaps it was worth waiting to find out for sure. Ian began walking closer to the source of the sound, but he turned on the road across from the entrance and headed straight up that road, there was a sign that said, "Finney Street." Ian shrugged and continued heading in the particular direction he was in and walked down the isolated Bachman Rd. Had he made a wrong turn? Or was the sound he heard much farther away then he thought?
"Just what the hell is going on around here?"
The blood dripping down the boy's face made his gash sting, the cold air and snow managed to penetrate every now and again despite the hood he was wearing. He needed to get his head fixed up soon, it wasn't that bad, but it certainly wasn't a good sign. Ian bit his lip to try to take his mind off of the burning sensation and continued to walk up the street.

Anthony laws was listening to his mini radio, heading toward Brahms. as he was approaching silent hill, he could hear nothing but static on it, he turned it off. "must be getting near a dead zone, need to focus on some other matters anyway."
As he was approaching the turnoff for Brahms, he saw cops on the Brahms side. "awh, s**t!" he exclaimed He still had time to turn the other way, so he did. A few minutes later, he started getting cold, and it started snowing. "What the...?" He began to look at the fuel level and realized that he is running low on gas, and he's getting a little hungry, so he drives on, and on, and finally reaches a big welcome sign that says "Welcome to Silent Hill" He looked at it for a while. "Hmm, never heard of it" He proceeded in to the town in search of a gas station. As he was parking his bike at TEXXON GAS, he began to get the feeling that someone, or something, was watching him. He pulled out his S&W 500 in preparation of an attack. He Heard a noise coming from the garage across the street. He went to find out about the noise and heard screaming coming from the same place. This made him uneasy about going there... but he proceeded anyway. HE WAS ATTACKED by something that looked like a monster "HOLY s**t!!!" he shot it straight through the head. It died on impact. Behind the monster was a trail of blood. He followed it, but when he got closer and closer, the smell got worse and worse. It was a dead body, but it looked exactly like his wife...

Not knowing where he was, the boy gazed down the alleyway on Finney street, there wasn't in particular that was out of the ordinary aside from how empty it was, it was bizarre, but nothing that really jumped out at him. While he was on his guard, nothing seemed to appear, the entire area was . . . quiet, abandoned, actually there were two sounds, the howl of the wind blowing the snow around, and his own footsteps, it nearly made him question if he was paranoid, dead, imagining all of this madness, or all of the above. Ian continued to walk down the deserted alleyway and towards a fence that stated, "Beware of Dog," Ian couldn't help but hope that there wasn't any dog either, definitely the last thing he needed was some rabid animal attacking him, he wasn't afraid though. Just in case, Ian tried to look passed the fence without opening it, but the fog was too heavy, he gripped his Magnum in his hand and then opened the doors of the fence, he walked around the corner more, nothing was visible in the narrow alley ahead, however as he reached the end, there was one thing. There were a few old blood stains, and a piece of paper on the ground, then there was also a really ancient-looking green sketchbook with a crude drawing on the front of it. In curiosity, Ian picked up the sketchbook and looked through it, there was nothing more then a few childish doodles that seemed to have faded mostly over the years, there was nothing important about it. Ian turned around and started walking back out towards the way he came, the blood stains on the ground where he had found the sketchbook left him with a sense of caution, he wasn't sure what had happened right there, but something was clearly wrong with this town, first with it snowing like this around Summer, then there was the fact that his parents and sister were missing, and lastly, there was also the blood stains, not just in the alley, but the blood smeared on the car seat where his mom was sitting earlier while ago, or was it actually a little while ago? He didn't know now, hours could have passed for all he knew, it didn't matter now, he just needed to know they were alright, Ian had no idea what he would do if they were injured, or worse. In a vain attempt to calm himself, he took a deep breath, closed his eyes, then reopened them. As he made his way out of the alley, Ian turned right back onto Bachman road, he then headed south until he reached Matheson Street, he then continued a few more feet before realizing that the entire road was out ahead of him, this freaked him out a bit. After all, the road was . . . missing
Ian Hunter: "What the hell . . . ?!"
Ian's voice echoed slightly around the block, he wasn't sure what could possibly cause a road to no longer exist like that, but he tried not to think about it too much. Ian turned back around into the foggy abyss and began looking around, to his right was another road leading towards Ellroy street, to his far left was another road, for right now, he thought it best to check the alley behind the cafe that he passed on Bachman road, maybe something would be there.
