Well, I made a thread similar to this a while ago, and instead of necroposting, I decided to make a new topic! biggrin Consider a scenario exactly like Dissidia, except all the heroes are available to make a team. If you were to embark on a journey which characters would you select to accompany you and why? Remember the maximum party size (in Dissidia Duodecim) is 5 members. Please take into account personalities and explain why you would select the characters you selected. Other than that, the possibilities are endless! biggrin Have fun with the thread and please keep the chatter on topic!
Edit:: Just for fun, if one or more of your characters don't exist in Dissidia, design a moveset for the characters if you wish to. A good created moveset should include at least two bravery attacks, one for the ground and one for midair; two HP attacks, same situation; along with short descriptions of the attacks. Also include any additional effects to the description.

Rinoa HeartillyRinoa's battle style is Waltzing Shooter, where she can freely change her distance and position from her opponent by pressing the and moving the control stick in the desired direction after an attack. By altering her distance, the player is capable of a variety of combos. Her other option is an attack. The player has the option to press after any bravery attack, allowing Rinoa to shoot her blaster at the opponent. Using these two different strategies makes Rinoa a tricky character to use, but if mastered, will confuse the opponent as to what type of attack will be implemented. Rinoa is a mid-ranged fighter, equipped with both close and long range attacks. She has access to two chain bravery attacks. Her HP attacks involve her Combine Limit Break from the original game, with the exception of the healing abilities. Rinoa has decent movement speed and her attacks execute quickly. However, she does take time to recover after her attacks, leaving her open to counterattacks. Like most projectile attacks, Rinoa's are easily blocked, but her quick, close range strikes make up for this. Bravery Attacks
Blaster Shot (Ground/Aerial) - Fires a quick moving blaster edge. Fast projectile, low power. Physical.
Rushing Edge (Ground/Aerial) - Three quick slashes with sharpened edge of weapon, knocking opponent away with the last blow. Magic Block, Chase. Physical.
Pirouette (Ground) - Draws in opponent with a whirl of blade and kick. Absorb, Magic Block. Physical.
Magic Dance (Ground/ Aerial) - Fires homing magic projectiles followed by Blaster Edge. Magic, Physical.
Star Shard (Aerial) - Charges Blaster Edge and fires at opponent, creating a small explosion. Physical, Magic.
Bravery to Bravery
Flying Pinwheel (from Blaster Shot) - Uses Sorceress Power to mentally control Blaster for three more strikes. Wall Rush. Physical.
Moon Waltz (from Pirouette) - Moves in circles around opponent, quickly slashing with her weapon. Physical. HP Attacks
Angelo Rush (Ground) - Calls Angelo to run through opponent. Wall Rush
Angelo Cannon (Aerial) - Launches Angelo off her wrist, creating a small explosion. Wall Rush
Angelo Strike (Ground/Aerial) - Angelo bites onto opponent, flies into the air, and slams them into the ground. Wall Rush
Wishing Star (Ground) - Jumps on Angelo's back and slams into opponent eight times. Magic Damage.EX Mode Rinoa's EX Mode is Angel Wing, her second Limit Break in Final Fantasy VIII. She sprouts a set of white feathered wings as she did in the original animation when entering into her berserk-like magic state. While in her EX Mode, Rinoa gains the abilities 'Glide" and "Primal Magic". Glide allows Rinoa to fly by holding the X button after a jump. The latter adds magic to every attack, adding magic damage to physical attacks and augmenting her magical attacks. Her attacks gain random elemental magic including fire, ice, thunder, water, wind, earth, and holy effects.
Rinoa's EX Burst is Sorceress Power. She blasts her opponent with the four strongest magic attacks from Final Fantasy VIII, Meteor, Holy, Flare, and Ultima. A circle appears at the bottom of the screen with another silver circle moving in a clockwise fashion. The player must time each button correctly in order to deal maximum damage before Rinoa uses "Promise" calling a huge beam of light from the sky and showering pink flower petals and feathers in every direction upon impact. The beam is reminiscent of the effect at the ending scene of Final Fantasy VIII, where Rinoa spontaneously revives Squall.

This one might take a while, since most of the ones I'd use aren't actually in Dissidia...
Laguna Loire: He's just an awesome all-around character, and I seem to really like close to mid-range fighters.
Celes Chere Celes' style is Runic Striker. She uses the combined power of her sword and her magic to cause combined damage on her opponents. She is primarily a close range fighter, using the might of her sword skills to surprise her opponents. She can, however, use powerful Ice magic from afar to keep her opponents at bay. Many of her Brave Attacks have music-based names, an homage to her opera performance.
Brave Attacks Slashing Serenade (Ground/Aerial) - A series of 5 flowing slashes that cause low to moderate damage. The last strike sends the opponent back towards the ground. Physical. Wall Rush.
Whirlwind Melody (Aerial) - A slash of her sword causes a small whirlwind to form in front of her, dealing moderate damage. Physical/Magic. Wall Rush. Can start a Chase sequence.
Blizzard (Ground/Aerial) - Brings a beam of ice down upon the opponent. Low damage. Magic. Wall Rush.
Blizzara (Ground/Aerial) - Identical to Terra's variant
Blizzaga (Ground/Aerial) - Several chunks of ice converge on the opponent, causing heavy damage. Also briefly prevents movement after damage. Magic. Absorb/Stun.
Sonata of Strength (Ground) - Plunges her sword into the earth, causing energy waves to disperse around her. Can reach airborne opponents. Physical/Magic. Wall Rush/Chase.
HP Attacks Meteor (Aerial) - Calls forth a barrage of meteors to converge on the opponent. Absorb.
Celestial Blade (Ground/Aerial) - Infuses her sword with Holy. Can be used at any range due to horizontal energy wave that forms from it. Wall Rush.
Diamond Concerto (Ground) - Sweeps her blade in an arc in front of her, causing large pillars of ice that can travel a fair distance.
EX Mode: Darkness and Starlight Celes equips the Lightbringer sword and gains an icy aura that briefly stuns the opponent when she gets close enough. It also infuses all of her attacks with Ice and Holy, even the ones that already might hold those elements. These abilities are Icy Glare and Celestial Cold.
EX Burst: Spin Edge The execution and damage dealt are identical to Terra's Riot Blade. The circle and left buttons are tapped rapidly at the same time to charge power. When completed, Celes charges the opponent, then spins 8 times. Afterward, a burst of Holy hits, dealing a little more Brave damage, and the final blow of the attack.
Tifa Lockhart: What can I say? I've had a crush on the gal since I was a kid. It'd be blasphemous for her to be excluded.
Rinoa Heartilly: I like the set that Psy put up. We'll stick with that.
Well, if I'm gonna have Celes...
Locke Cole Locke's style is Tactical Hunter. He uses a wide variety of weapons from daggers to boomerangs to deal his damage quickly, and from several ranges. His HP Attacks are Fire-based due to the power of the Phoenix Magicite. Much like Celes, many of his attacks have musical names.
Brave Attacks Dagger Dance (Ground/Aerial) - Charges at the opponent, striking 3 times with a dagger, then kicking them to the ground. Physical. Wall Rush.
Boomerang Bolero (Ground/Aerial) - Throws 3 boomerangs at the opponent. If at least 1 makes contact, the opponent is thrown back toward Locke for a kick to the ground. Strong homing. Physical. Wall Rush.
Full Moon Flamenco (Aerial) - Throws a series of 5 fast-moving blades at the opponent. Each one after the first will deal successively more damage. Physical. Wall Rush/Chase.
Wing Edge Waltz (Ground) - Throws his signature boomerang, the Wing Edge, at the opponent. Brings the opponent back to Locke, who then proceeds with a 4-hit combo with twin daggers. Physical. Absorb/Wall Rush.
Elemental Sonata (Ground/Aerial) - Slices at the opponent with one of the 3 elemental swords: Thunderblade, Flametongue, or Icebrand. Which one is used is randomly generated. Physical/Magic. Chase.
HP Attacks
Phoenix Wing (Ground/Aerial) - Throws the Wing Edge with fire surrounding it. A flaming whirlwind is caused by the motion of the Wing Edge. Strong homing. Wall Rush.
Phoenix Blade (Ground) - A fiery variant of WoL's Shining Wave.
Phoenician Grasp (Ground/Aerial) - Grabs hold of the opponent, then slashes at them with a flame-infused sword. Wall Rush.
Phoenician Aurora (Aerial) - Throws 5 fast-moving flame-infused blades toward the opponent, each one exploding when coming close to the opponent. Blades deal both physical and magic damage before explosion. Slight homing.
EX Mode: Heart of Rebirth Locke gains access to the full strength of the Phoenix Magicite, engulfing him in a fiery aura, as well as the Phoenix's flaming wings. All of his attacks gain a Fire-infusion, and those that already have one are boosted further. He gains the Glide and Phoenix Love abilities.
EX Burst: Mirage Dive Executed just like Celes and Terra, Locke creates 7 copies of himself that each dive down on the opponent for physical and magical damage. After he does his own dive, the Phoenix herself appears to charge right through the enemy for one last shot.

I made up my Rinoa skill set a while ago.
As for my party, I'd have several combinations.
Squall, Cloud, Tidus (my favorite of the guys) Rinoa, Tifa, Yuna (their counterparts, maybe include Lightning)
Squall, Lightning, Tifa, Tidus. (Usually my main party)

Well, since it's 3:47 in the morning and I have little/no intention of sleeping, I guess I'll plan a character out. xD curse my sleeping habits u___u; I'll get to the attack descriptions when I have more time. XD I've been getting distracted while I was typing this up. If any of you wanna take a stab at the attacks, feel free to PM me and I'll just C&P your thing into the description. (tl;dr: It's early morning, I didn't sleep, I'm a lazy MF, PM me if you have an attack idea)
Basch fon Ronsenburg
Basch's fighting style is Skilled Soldier. Similar to Vaan, he can wield a wide variety of weapons. In addition a couple of Vaan's abilities, Basch has the ability to use handbombs, daggers, poles, ninja swords, rods, bows, and measures. When Basch changes weapons prior to attacking, this triggers a "Switch Attack," where the attack is slower, but has special properties and higher strength. This requires the player to properly time his attacks to ensure the most damage done. A downside to Basch's battle style is that "Switch Attacks" are slower than regular attacks, although not as slow as Vaan's, creating an inadvertent lag and giving enemies time to dodge and counterattack him. Basch has an average ground movement speed, comparable to Cloud or Squall.
Bravery Attacks
Handbomb (Ground/Aerial)
Dagger (Ground/Aerial)
Pole (Ground/Aerial)
Ninja Sword (Ground/Aerial)
Rod (Ground/Aerial)
Bow (Ground/Aerial)
Measure (Ground/Aerial)
Sword and Shield(Ground/Aerial)
Greatsword (Ground/Aerial)
Gun (Ground/Aerial)
Crossbow (Ground/Aerial)
HP Attacks
Wind Scar (Ground/Aerial) (Like Gabranth's Innocence attack)
Whiteout (Ground)
Ark Blast (Aerial)

So im not so great at creating normal attacks, but i came up with a couple variations of a burst for her. I would use Rydia of Mist. Her style would be Final Summoner. Her EX Mode could be Plot Relevent Age Up (get it? hehe) cuz she would start in her child form. As for Bursts; Variation A) Rydia summons Ashura and Leviathan. Leviathan goes on the offensive while Ashura restores some of Rydia's Bravery Points. Variation B) Drawing on her black magic (and the way the spell works on the party) Rydia casts break at the enemy to turn their feet to stone so they cannot escape. She then summons the Mist Dragon to attack her opponent. Variation C) Rydia makes a show of putting on the Mist Ring before calling on the Mist Dragon to attack. This variation would give Rydia a blink like effect after finishing. Either way she would stay in her adult form afterwards. What do you guys think of my Rydia finishers? ^_^
