Wayne Manor

This place should be pretty self-explanatory. The secluded mansion and home of Bruce Wayne; located outside the city, close to the beach, and overtop of the Bat Cave.

Since there are enough characters that have some relation to Batman now, I think it would be alright to create an actual place for the Manor. Before “Gotham” and “Home Sweet Home” were the areas used when someone wanted to continue a plot inside the Manor.

Because other areas were used for this specific location, I may eventually “move” or “copy” the sections from the other locations and post them here. Such as when Terry talked to Alfred, when Bruce carried a critically wounded Alfred into the mansion and waited on the ambulance, etc. I will leave a few “posts” here blank, for that purpose. That way most of the important things can be in one location rather than everyone hunting and pecking through threads for these sections.

And….since I have a Reaper double stationed inside the Manor still, this will give me an actual place to keep him. XP

[[ For the sake of sanity, ENTER Reaper double from wherever he had come from before. He’s been in here for a while now. ]]

Now he was getting anxious. Really anxious. He’d been in this huge mansion for…what? Days? Probably a week or so. Good couple of weeks. He really hadn’t kept track. He just knew that it had been days since that Commie Robot had knocked on the door and asked for the owner. He knew that he’d been in this place all by himself for days, and as far as he knew, no one had come to visit. If they did it was in that huge cave under the house, and it would’ve had to have been while he was sleeping.

So, he was lounging about in this huge mansion for days just waiting. Waiting for someone to come, or for some idea of what he could do. Strange was gone, most of the heroes were still gone. As far as he knew, he really couldn’t do anything about that. The original Reaper was sitting with Cat at Edels…so he wasn’t even thinking about doing anything that resembled work right now.
So…all he could do was sit here and continue to do nothing but wait. This place was supposed to be some kind of good-guy base, so it seemed like a good idea to wait here and see if anyone returned. Anyone that could do something about the missing heroes.

He’d finally gotten bored of the large house, so now he was getting…cravings. He’d lived in a large house kind of like this when he was a child. This was the kind of house he should have been entitled to after he grew up. But…it was safe to say that he was out of that will. So he’d taken advantage of being the only one in the mansion at first, acted like it was his own home, then he grew bored of it. And without anything to keep his attention, he had more than enough time to think about his obsession. He was tempted to go back down into the Cave and play around down there again. Maybe he’d finally figure out how to use the computer at try number seventy-two. Or play around with some of the souvenirs all over the place down there. Then again, there was a really nice ride that he could try to hot-wire. Anything, anything to get his mind off blood. Off picking the little bats off of the ceiling and peeling them apart just to make paintings on the floor.

With a groan, he rolled himself over in the large sofa he was lying in and stared at the empty fireplace across from him. For the heck of it, he let it fill up with some of his ebony fire and let it crackle over nothing. When that didn’t work to keep his attention, he began shifting through his now various forms. Perhaps he could create a new one. Or something a little more unique. Some of the heroes did have a point…a skeleton in a bloody cloak with a scythe was a little cliché. Okay, it was really cliché, even if the bones themselves were stained red with blood. But…it came with the powers. So let’s see….fleshy human form…skeletal, stained red Reaper form….inky black Blood form….inky black, glowing kryptonite and dark cloak skeletal Blood Reaper….complete monstrous Blood creature and Kryptonite form…what else could he do to mix it up?

(ENTER Jaquelyn and Victoria Allen from Keystone City)

The young golden pup jumped from FG's arms as she leaned against the frame of the large entrance to the manor, huffing and holding to the leash. She reached into her pocket and tossed an energy bar to her sister, opening one for herself as well. After a bite, she looked up to the door and rang the doorbell.

Reaper jumped and instantly reverted back into his human form. He stared curiously at the doorway for a moment, then slipped into his stream of black fire for a hurried entrance into the hallway. From there he reformed himself and carefully walked down the long hall towards the main entrance. Someone running the doorbell...so it was safe to say that it was just someone looking for the owner of the house. That was fine. He'd nibbed enough in this large house that he could try to play himself off as the owner. Or, he could just say that he was watching over the house while...Wayne was it?...was gone. Let's see then...his red outfit wasn't exactly the best thing to be wearing. How about...black jeans, a white button up, and...eh, we'll just go with socks. Casual enough right?

As his outfit morphed into something a little less conspicuous, he ran a hand through his dark hair to try and clean it up a bit. Didn't want to look like he was just lazing about. In case it was someone who really knew the guy who lived here. As he got closer to the door, he tried to get a gauge on who was on the other side of the door before opening it. The heartbeats were abnormally fast...their thoughts were racing, he couldn't get a good read on the two, though they seemed to be young. And two were animals. They were just kids and their pets then...shouldn't be too much for him to worry about.

Carefully, he opened the door and positioned himself inside the small opening. He looked down at the two thoughtfully for a moment before speaking. "Yes? Can I help you?"

Getting there, Impulse let her cat's head peek out again, showing her the manor. "See there, Nymphs? This is Wayne Manor. Much better than our home base, huh?" Nymphs purred and meowed, pawing at her zipper. But Impulse felt like waiting. She wanted to be packed and ready to scram; they were out in the open after all. Catching the energy bar, she opened it and began munching already. She tapped her foot with excitement when her sister rang the doorbell. Thoughts of seeing Robin again raced through her mind, as well as seeing perhaps more familiar faces. Just her and her sister was getting lonely. It made her nervous, being that isolated.
The door cracked open, and she smiled, still nibbling. But the unfamiliar face threw her off and made her still. She stared at the face, trying to find a sign, anything that would indicate that they knew him. Nothing. After a while of silence, she took the initative and blurted, "Who are you?" It wasn't the words as much as the tone that might seem impolite. But it was too late, the words were already out. Her thoughts still ran with the words though, and because of the circumstances, she suspected she wouldn't get scolded by her sister. This man was unintroduced, and with these times upon them, she had every right to be suspicious. And she had no oath to be polite.

Jaquelyn didn't take well to the unfamiliar face. He seemed... nice enough... but she took a small step towards her sister as she looked up at the man. Just like her sister, she blurted her own words. They were a little more specific.

"You're not Alfred."

Way to be obvious, FG, but that was more effective. A way to ask two questions at once. Who are you, and where is the person we were expecting?

Reaper frowned a bit at the girl’s tone, but shrugged it off easily. He was the intruder here, and these two unfortunately did seem to know the people who lived here. ”Alfred’s not here.” he replied simply.
Alfred? That was…the older man right? The butler. When he finally managed to get the security cameras running on the large computer ‘downstairs’, he was the guy that had collapsed and was carried away by the ambulance. ”He hasn’t been here for weeks. Last I seen of him, he’d been taken away in an ambulance.” he continued. ”I’m Blake. I’m keeping an eye on the place until everyone finally comes back.” Which was true. He was sticking around here to wait on heroes, or anyone really, to come. The ‘Batman’ that lived here was supposed to be one of the people from Strange’s list that was missing.
”And…who might you two be? No one’s been here for weeks, so I really wasn’t expecting company for them. Other than whoever might come here for business with Mr. Wayne.”

FG looked back at her sister for a moment and turned her eyes back to the man. This caught her off guard... but she didn't know who Bruce knew, so she couldn't legitimately confirm this man's claims... her mind raced through her thoughts and she decided not to question more about why he was there. If anything she wanted to ask what happened to Alfred, but he asked who they were. Again her mind searched through responses. After only a couple seconds, she answered him.

"Ah, our... parents are friends of the Wayne family. We didn't know about Alfred..."

She tried redirecting back to the butler. Hopefully it wasn't too quick of a change.

Reaper nodded. "From what I heard, it was rather sudden. Heart attack I believe. Mr. Wayne came home and found him, rushed him to the hospital immediately. I haven't heard anything of them since." he replied.

Honestly though, from what he'd seen downstairs, the man didn't just suffer from a normal heart attack. He was at least vaguely familiar with the woman that had appeared and left with the younger boy...so it was safe to assume she did something to cause the man's sudden illness. The boy, Batman, had appeared since then. So, he was both fine, and back from being missing. He was probably someone that Reaper should talk to about the whole 'missing' thing. Another reason he was sticking around the house. He was one version of Batman after all, he should be around at some point.

Going back to these two though...he was rather intrigued. There thoughts were bouncing so quickly he could barely get a good read on them. More meta-humans...and from the way they were acting, he could assume that they were probably "good guys". That was fine...so long as they didn't try to cause him any trouble.
Erm...not that there was a whole lot they could do to cause him trouble. Superman was still missing...Strange was missing, though he was trying NOT to think too much on that one...really there shouldn't be very many people around that could really hurt him.

A while passed of them talking and Impulse still stared at the man, squinting one eye suspiciously and looking him over many times. Her nose scrunched as little children do when they're having a hard time with something. Her mind was bouncing back and forth between "good" and "bad" for this character. He seemed nice, but they always did. But if he wanted them gone, he would have done it by now, though attacking them without being sure of any powers might be unwise. Still, if he was still here and not hightailing it out, he must have had some kind of guts, not to mention him answering the door and risking answering to someone like Robin. Then again, perhaps he did have jouristiction over the place. Perhaps Alfred did leave him in charge. Alfred. She looked down, biting her lip as she processed the news.
Impulse peered around him, still holding back her growling cat from jumping out of her jacket and clawing the man's face; it seemed Nymphs didn't like him either. Impulse tried taking a look inside the mansion, wondering if this dude may have trashed it. After a few seconds, she felt suddenly impatient again and fidgeted with her jacket, still holding her wild beast at bay. She cleared her throat. "Ahem, can we come in now?" She stared up at him with unsatisfied eyes, wondering how he'd fare. If he had something in there, he wouldn't let them in. But if he didn't let them in, they'd come in another way. Meh, so she got themselves inside; this didn't make them any safer. Still, the animals would settle after getting space from this man.

Reaper glanced back at the other child that had given him a tone before. ”I…don’t see why not.” he replied after a hesitant beat. “Again though, I wasn’t expecting company to come here other than business calls. And those I’d simply take a message and send away. No one else is here, nor have they been here for some time. I’m not sure you’ll be able to stay for very long.” With that, he stepped back and opened the door wider for the two young heroes to enter.

Really, he didn’t want them to stay long. They did seem to know the people who lived here, but he couldn’t tell how well they knew them. Their thoughts were speeding so quickly he couldn’t really read anything more than what they were currently thinking, or what they dwindled on long enough for him to catch. If they did know about the guy being Batman, maybe they could have a rather open conversation, and he might find out more about what other heroes were here and who else could help him. If they didn’t know about Batman, and the incredibly large basement, then he didn’t want them wandering around and stumbling upon it. Since he was stuck in the position of being a good guy, he supposed he should try and keep the guy’s secret until he could come back and hide it himself. Really though…with Strange gone, he wasn’t stuck doing anything. He could be as bad and as bloody as he wanted…but, it was probably be in his best interest to be as good as he could while Strange was gone. Maybe try to find him and the other missing…keep things calm when he could…not do what he did when he first came to this world. Maybe if he could show that he had been good and exercised a rather impressive amount of self control and restrain (considering who and what he was), then maybe he’d be rewarded somehow when the sorcerer returned. Even if it was just loosening the chain some, he’d be a little happier.

Jaquelyn walked through the open door, all the while looking up at the man. Her young pup hid behind her as best she good as she trotted low to the ground into the manor.

"Thank you. We walked all the way here. It was... quite a trip."

She watched carefully as her sister followed into the main hall, then she started scanning the walls closely.
