EXAMPLE CLASSES
CLASS: Flexibility and Gymnastics
Level #1: Child and up | Difficulty: low
Instructor: Emme

Below are Quests currently available. If you'd like to participate, you must sign up for one of the 2 quests. Quests must be completed during a single stage of a simu's life, and level #1 quests must take no more than 1 month to complete.
When you complete a quest, you must PM the Instructor so they can go over your journal entries and grade your performance. You will either Pass or be asked to do extra credit to complete the course.

Benefits of taking a course:
Each different course taken will have a number of points attatched to them. Points will be recorded and rewarded in different ways. Additional benefits are having your child change physically due to training. For example, if you take flight class and earn wings, of course your child will have wings added to their portrait. If you earn new weapons, they can be included in your child's next stage by request.

Quest 1:
Two part course
1. Look up basic information about gymnastics
Choose ONE specialty for your child
Write a journal entry about why your child is learning this skill

2. Think about the real world application of this talent.
Write a journal entry about how your child utilizes this skill
RP session with another child is encouraged for this stage.

Quest 2:
Two part course
1. You decide to learn about Yoga/and or Tai Chi. Research a little about Yoga/and or Tai Chi and choose a type of Yoga/and or Tai Chi you and your child will practice together. Choose a couple of poses that you might like to use.

2. Write about Yoga/and or Tai Chi sessions you and your child practice in two journal entries, explaining a bit about what your child thinks of Yoga/and or Tai Chi, and how they use the skills in everyday life. Does it help them focus? Do they just gain flexiblity? Do they become interested in eastern philosphies and meditation? Or do they just enjoy the physical benefits?

I'm going to post this cause well, you always can delete it if needed.

I did gymnastics for 8 years and competed competitively (even went to nationals. o-o; ), so I'm open for questions on things and even some slang or stories. >.>

That's awesome X! if you have any recommendations for Quests/Classes/Adventures to use for this concept in reguards to gymnastics, please feel free to elaborate! ^__^

Hmmm... Sao is personally teaching Yeste' stuff, but I suppose this would be neat too. She could take magic and stuff. I don't think for talents or magic that there would be anything that covers her powers.
And the flying, Yeste' will be able to grow them and stuff later on. That comes with her powers which Sao is helping her with.
I've got all sorts of stuff written for Yeste'. Though she seems powerfull and stuff, she has many weaknesses and so she isn't all godly. 3nodding

That would be interesting. Kami'd love it, I'm sure. ^^ She's always longed to fly like her favorite fairytales that she holds so close to but Magic would be cool too. 3nodding heart heart

Elijah can definately help with the flying, >3. Not sure he could help to grow them, but teaching people about flying is where it's AT~!

Sarria would probably like Yoga 3nodding Possibly flying since that would mean she could go up all high like the mountains she loves so much.

I'm glad everyone is intersted!

I haven't figured out just how we'll make the points/rewards system for this work...

But It would be so cool if you guys offered to 'teach' soem of the classes.

I'll come up with a form and requirements for 'teachers' soon. ^^

We've got a LOT of other things going on right now, though... so this is in just the planning stages. ^_-

Possible teaching positions:

Elijah - basic flight instruction?

Kami- Ettique(sp?) and finishing school?

Sarria- Yoga/tai chi, meditation? (good or neutral simu only)

Emme - Art Class?

XBear - Gymnasitcs/tumbling?

Sao/Yeste - magic? dark magic? (evil or neutral only)Dagger throwing?

Aurora - Swimming?

Valoray - Sign Language?

Just a few ideas. ^_^

If you were to decide to teach a class, you'd need to come up with quest options and check in with your 'students' to make sure they complete their quest.

The higher the level, the more difficult the quests should be.

Flying, and growing wings, for example should be rather tough... we don't want EVERYone growing wings, right?

ALSO, I was considering the fact that some classes may be limited to Good/Neutral/Evil.

for example, if Emme was to teach Healing, it would be limited to 'good' simu.

If Sao taugh dark arts of some kind, it would be limited to 'evil' simu.

I think we should think about other limitations so we don't end up with people falling into 'god mode' because the've takeen all the classes available.

Or there could be certain minor healing spells for evil aligned simu.
I think that Sao and Yeste' would be proud to teach some dark magic classes and dagger fighting!
Dagger throwing is just one part of fighting with a dagger. Its very close combat fighting, even more so than a sword so its alot harder (at least I think so).

I like this idea very much!

^_^ yay! i'm really happy that we've gotten so much feedback... this seems like it could be a really good way to pull a lot of people in.

Do you have any ideas for how your classes/quests might work?

LIke maybe set up a pre-req class for dagger fighting:
Picking the Dagger to best suite you
1. Learn and research types of daggers
2. Find a photo/image of the type of dagger you'd like to use.
3. write a journal entry about why this type of dagger is best suited to you.

There should also be at least begining course requirement of Agility and Hand to Hand...
I like the picking of the dagger stuff. Thats very important, also naming the dagger. One should learn that a weapon is an extension of one's self and should be taken care of as such. It also should be treated as a friend and as one it needs a name. Like...
Choosing a Name
1. Choose a suitable name for your dagger.
2. Tell why you chose this name for your dagger.

or something to that extent.
I'd be very willing to assist with anything regarding the collegey thing.

Magics would be a MUCH harder thing to cover because there are all sorts of different magics! There'd have to be white magics and dark magics. Those are the first basic categories. Anything that is defensive, healing, or raises things like moral or something would be white. Anything that is offensive would be dark. Then there are the nature magics which I think fit into a category all their own... sweatdrop

Or, if I'm not too lazy/buisy, if anyone who was interested in the class would like I could make a pixley type thing of a dagger for them. They could fill out a custom sheet with colors and stuff... But I don't know if I'd be able to do too many of those. Surprisingly, daggers take me a while to do.

Oh, and you could offer a smithing class, like weaponsmithing and stuff. Except a beginers course would be making horse-shoes or learning basics about smithing and such things... Then people could make their own weapons... I'm just randomly throwing ideas out as they pop into my head sweatdrop

Hmm..

With Kerryn currently learning (dispite the fact that she's a child) she could probably teach about some plants, how to tell what is what. Of course it'd be a very basic class.

Bri on the other hand might be able to teach.. uhm.. >>; What could Bri teach? Bartending? *Laughs softly.* Maybe cooking or something.

If these are even the types of courses you're thinking of.
