It was a bad and stupid thing to do, but come on! If a fan of the other team screams insults (or throws stuff), laugh it off or swear back or whatever. Don't be hurt by some dummy's idea of a joke. The reaction shows more about how far we've(they've?) fallen, than the thrown banana does.
What this guy said: there are FAR WORSE things than a thrown banana.
