Kianira...it was weird thinking about herself with a new name. It was exhilarating, and yet still terrifying. What was there to worry about, though? No one from her old life would find her here. This was her new life. And today she was going to take a bold step and make her life even bigger than it had been before.
She had finished hunting this morning, eating a small portion for herself and leaving the rest for a pile of hungry juveniles to polish off the rest.
She was off to find Jitokeza.

Jitokeza was doing his best to keep himself busy. It had been so long since his girls had been sent off for their name quests but once one returned it was hard to not think they both ought to be back- and as time dragged on, he couldn't help but worry- especially since after a certain point, they were assumed dead. But it was nice to have Tamu around again, even if now she was independent. And he did have Kianira, who was a welcome and cheerful distraction. He'd been out bird-watching, at least as best he could through the trees, but now he was heading back closer to the swamp, thinking about what to do next.

She was getting better at navigating through the swamp. Dodging some low hanging trees here, crawling over some fallen, rotting trunks there. The driest areas were not so dry, but it was better than going through chest high water at parts.
She took it slowly, some parts faster than others. At least she was getting used to being mildly damp all the time. Not that she'd always enjoy it.
"Oh!" There he was! He was so hard to find once the sun fell, but during the sun's rise, it wasn't too hard to spot his dark form. "Jitokeza!" Hopefully he'd hear her. She wasn't terribly close to him.

With nowhere in particular in mind to go, Jitokeza was moving at a very leisurely pace. He wouldn't have been surprised to run in to other early birds around the swamps but having his name called out wasn't entirely expected-- until he realized who it was, just before he really recognized the familiar purple form.
"Good morning, Kianira," he called back brightly, picking up the pace to meet up with her.

Kianira met up with him, a big smile upon her face. "You're not in the middle of anything, are you? I wanted to speak to you if you didn't mind."
Hopefully she wouldn't....be too pushy, but she figured that it didn't hurt to give it a shot. She was one that could deal with whatever life gave her, and she wasn't going to let this thought escape her mind without a bit of a fight!

"Oh, not really," he said, glancing around, "I was just out enjoying the morning, I'm not that surprised to have run into you."
Morning was, clearly, their time. It was when they spent the most time together-- truthfully, she was the reason he had become a morning person and he didn't mind it at all.
"What did you want to talk about?"

"Morning is the best!" she bursted, unable to help herself. She was definitely a morning-lioness. "Ah, sorry."
She sat herself down, since it might be easier to deliver it bracing herself. "I honestly wanted to ask you this, and I'm not sure if the timing will ever be right. I enjoy spending time with you, and I wanted to know if you wanted to keep it this way. As in, you and I, together."

Jitokeza beamed, hardly about to disagree with such a sincerely cheerful statement. He thought so, too. His expression softened when she took a seat, not sure what to think about it being necessary to sit down but decidedly following her lead and taking a seat himself.
When she spoke, he was stunned into silence that lasted a long moment after she finished. Somehow, she had managed to catch him by surprise. He found his voice very suddenly and there was really only one thing to say.
"Of course!"

Ok, so it was her turn to be stunned. She didn't really think that it would go over as smoothly as it did! "Oh my goodness, that's wonderful!" She laughed, slowly at first, and then just couldn't help herself. She boldly rushed to nuzzle him, burying her neck in his fluffy black mane. Sure, maybe it was a touch damp, but it was perfect to her.
"Thanks," was all she said.

He was back on his feet almost as soon as Kianira moved closer and he nuzzled back against her- it was so sudden his head might have been spinning but there was no question or doubt about it. The immediate shock worn off, Jitokeza just felt happy. Every emotion he felt when Kianira was around was magnified and he was sure it would never go away.
He could easily have spent the remainder of the morning just standing there with her, being happy. If she hadn't said something so ridiculous seeming in that moment, Jitokeza might not have been able to speak again so soon.
"I love you."
Short, simple and true.. even if it took a moment like this to fully recognize it and to build up the courage of this nervous lion enough to say it.

!!!!
That was not something that Kianira had been expecting. She hadn't wanted to say it so soon, to not seem like she was rushing into it with no where to fall. Now that there was no fear of falling, she felt like she'd soar instead.
"I love you too," she said, softly, but with warmth. This was where her new life really started. A new name, given to her by a male that she loved. There was really nothing else that she could ask for at this moment. Just...spending lots of time with Jitokeza now. And she had the best excuse to.
They were in love, and she never saw an end to it. Perfect joy.
