Hidden inside the skull of a long dead elephant lay curled what looked like a pile of mostly black fur. Like someone had been purposely collecting black fur to make a rather large bed out of. At least this is what strangers to the area were likely to guess. Anyone familiar with the land would know not to disturb any piles of fur that happened to be inhabiting large skulls.

As if on command, the pile moved, two legs shooting out under a yawning mouth as the mostly black Hyena started to get up. It wasn't early in the morning. More like afternoon by the height of the sun in the sky. Or just a bit past that. Itzal didn't like sleeping so late, but he had been out late last night, poking around the roguelands. There had been a large scattering of bones in one area. Like a huge hunt had taken place and everyone involved had eaten at that one spot. Small group of felines or canines, he guessed, living together amongst the dangers of the roguelands. There would always be more safety in numbers. He could never bring himself to socialize with any other Hyena's or Wild Dogs before coming to the Mava'Bunda lands.

Moving to the back of his 'house', Itzal jumped down, quite awake now. His first thought was to find a puddle or something to get a drink from. That seemed scarce. All puddles should be dried up or used, by now.

With a flick of his tail, he set off, nose on the ground to see what his nose could find for him.

Kivu was livid with anger her son was working on having another litter but it was with the wrong female. That female was suppose to go to the younger brother not him. she growled and cursed as she passed in front of one the last puddles that had water. She had already had her fill but that didn't mean she couldn't watch it and scare off some of the lesser canines from trying to get to it.

"Stupid males...stupid stupid stupid males!" she yelled out the last part a bit as she growled her fur stood on end and she looked like she was ready to attack anything.

Then out the corner of her eye a mostly dark male clearly seeking water wandering on closer to her. she had a mixture of horror and anger how dare he just wander on up like he owned the place.

Itzal, on the other hand, was having a splendid day so far. He already had it planned out what to do today. Yesterday he had managed to make a trip to the roguelands to trade away a few scattering of random junk he had found near the pack's border. The junk had been taking up room in his piles, not sure what to do with them. But he hadn't wanted to just toss them out. You never knew what someone else might want. Or give you for them. The male had been rewarded well for his patience. The other Hyena had given him some nicely sharpened bones that were sure to come in handy crafting something. What, he wasn't sure. He was just the collector. The trader. Not the manufacturer.

His nose hit the scent of something that didn't smell like water. Or anything from nature. Raising his gray eyes, Itzal came to face the other Hyena. Standing before a puddle in what seemed like a protective stance. He frowned. She would make this difficult, wouldn't she? Were all females in this pack nuts?

He looked her over a moment, trying to judge what kind of reaction he could expect. She looked selfish. Like she thought she owned the puddle. Or just in such a bad mood, she wasn't going to grant anyone else a drink.

"You're not going to move, are you?"
