Ebio'Femi:
It had been tiresome days working at mellowing the girl out. Zhen though, was in fact a beautiful cub that with given time and effort. She was amazingly sweet.. A pain in her chest everytime she watched the scars pain Zhen if she stepped in water or hotter sand. A sigh came out of her every time. Just a breath takingly pain that someone could do that to a cub.. But it was all worth while when she saw Zhen hiding a smile everytime she was given something from her 'grandmother' The Goddess of Confusion. She'd get fustrated and that enticed the memories of Khaul which got her to feel...sadness. When he left it made Ebio more liable to get fustrated unlike she had when dealing with him. Like an opposite reaction. Days passed and she was slowly gaining Zhen's trust. When school was over, Ebio found herself waiting outside. Almost eager and waiting to greet Zhen with a smile.. That's all she needed. Someone to love, support her and care for her, even if Zhen got an attitude about it. Ebio was still there... Waiting. Sitting at the bottom of the steps.

Zhen:
School? The idea of it was just plainly boring and useless to her. Her school mates were smiling, happy and even more annoying to her than usual. She felt,....like an outcast. She was different. 'Dirty' and decorated in more scars than most adults in the pride. Hateful of the idea of being looked at, she often times bursted out yelling and left. This happened several times before, and she would always end up taking it out on Ebio. Even getting violent... This time, she held her head low and was more quiet than usual. Even answering a question or two and seemingly trying to put forth some effort. If only for Ebio getting off her back about it. Looking away and somehow.. she was starting to get used to the idea of seeing the pale female. Accepting her on some level.. When class was out she took her time leaving.. Having other cubs trying to talk to her but she merely brush them off as she came up to the openning.

Glozelle:
Gloz ran across the sands of the pridelands, working his muscles in an effort to keep them strong even as he healed. He was getting better, each day closer and closer to his brush with death being just one more scar to add to the story of hard work that was his body. Harder and harder he pushed himself until he realized he was running too fast, pushing himself too much. Slowing own to a slower jog, he breathed in and out, slowly, hating that he had a limit so much lower than it had been. He wanted to be back to his normal pace, he wanted to be back to the top of his game so that he could leave this place.

This pride was a safe-haven, one he didn't want to see ruined should Miraz's warriors come searching for him. Or for Caspian. He wasn't sure who was the greater threat, the exiled prince or the tactician and warrior traitor.
But as he neared the temples, he realized he didn't want to think about leaving or of the pride he had come from or of Miraz or Sopesian and their scheming. He paused in his jog, his ears flicking back as he stopped and watched the waiting lioness who hadn't seen him yet. A pink and tan form that was just as bothersome when she was gone from his side as she was when she was there. She put thoughts into his head that didn't belong, all of her absurdly pleasant fancies and dreaming were bringing back memories and dreams he would have preferred to stay buried in his mind.

He returned the neutral look to his features as he continued to watch her, not having decided to approach or walk away.

Zhen:
It was like her furr was all roughed up as it bristled when she saw a certain female waiting for her. Looking down from the top of the steps with a rather stoic look. Pretty irritated that the female was there but she knew it would happen. She expected her to probably run to her in glee like the other cubs.. But she didn't. Instead, she was bumped against and drew her fangs out. "WATCH WHERE YOUR GOING!" She hissed and dodged to the other side of the steps before going down the steps and looking up at Ebio. "What." She growled lightly. As the teacher came out to see the commotion.. Only to see who it had been the cause of it and shake his head disappointedly.

Ebio'Femi:
Her ears went down as soon as the yelling started and slowly took a step up. "Zhen.." She said lowly before seeing the girl come back to her. Sighing, she took the cub up and laid down right then and there and started to groom her crazed hair.

Zhen:
"ARK!?" She flailed and tried to pull away. "Your making it WORSE!" She hissed and swiped at her. Growling and sharing snarls as she flailing her claws about.

Ebio'Femi:
"That's what you get." She licked happily, embaressing her all around and without a moment's hesitation as she finished. She gave a finally wet lick across the girl's head and let her go. A laugh escaped her as she looked like some puff ball out of a scene in the scriptures.

Zhen:
"LIONNESS!" She scowled and once she let go, she bursted out and shook her big fluff fur about to get it back in to its rough shape. Turning and huffing at the girl. "Don't you think you should be doing something like~ NOW D< Training or something in stead of waiting for me and sdklfbajkdbvfsd" Practically yelling as her before huffing and walking beside her. "Can we go now." She rolled her eyes.

Ebio'Femi:
Giggling softly and even when she yelled at her, she seemed oblivious to the yelling with a dumbstruck smile. Far too cute to take seriously.. she was rather breath taking with her fine beautiful markings.. and as a fluff ball it was even more adorable. Getting up on all fours and sneaking a last lick of the cub's hair. "If your done yelling~ then yes." Her smile brightened more as she spoke about how the gods had sent her here for a reason and she should try to keep from taring off boys head at school. Right before she went to walk her home, when she rose her head- in the distance she saw Gloz... And when she rose her head and starred. ZHen couldn't possibly help but look as well at what the stupid female was doing now.

Zhen:
When she turned to face whatever the female was looking at.. she saw the male who brought her here. To the safe haven, or so she heard another call it. Immediately, she buckled her paws and started to run towards him. Huffing when she arrived at full speed before 'hoping' to a stop. "Were you out training." She said outright to him. Starring him down with a frown to her. Looking rather disappointed.

Glozelle:
Gloz frowned in disappointment at the scene between Ebio and then youngling he had brought in from the desert. He didn't like how the girl yelled at the lioness who was only trying to take care of her. Yes, he was aloof to Ebio, but he was never short with her, never yelled. It was disrespectful.
Before he could decide where to go next, the pair had seen him and the younger lioness had run to him, stopping just paces short.

"You will not yell at Ebio again. Yelling will get you nothing when you grow. Even a warrior is better suited to quiet threats or silence," was his reply to her question, his face a careful mask. "Yell when you need your voice to carry, not in anger."

He stared down at her for a moment, before his attention moved back to Ebio.
"Yes, I was training," he finally answered, though he did not look back down at Zhen.

Zhen:
Hur fur went up. "She was embaressing me in front of everyone. Its hard enough to get them to stop starring!" She huffed and when she felt Ebio come up behind her. She hissed a little. Tossing her gaze away til Ebio came right almost on top of her before looking back at him. "Why don't you take me with you when you train. I hate it here. They don't understand." She whispered as to not let Ebio hear.

Ebio'Femi:
When Ebio came up, she lightly bowed her head to him in a nod before bringing ZHen to her chest. Seeing that, he looked at her when he spoke of something that she didn't ask. A light sigh came about. "How are you Gloz.. have you been using my medicine? I hope your not pushing yourself too hard.. if you are back to training." A softness came out as she tried to seem like nothing happened. The girl still needed to be taught and it was hard to teach her when she wouldnt even let Ebio get close enough.. But slowly that was starting to change. Life will happen and she knew that she will learn to be more gentle with time. For now, the process was all about fighting back. She could only imagen that was how she was raised up til now.

Glozelle:
"You cannot train with me. I am trying to strengthen my muscles and I run at a pace that you cannot match yet," Gloz replied, his gold eyes flicking back to Zhen for a moment. She did not understand. She was lucky to have learning outside of the training he had as a youngling. Cubs born into his station really had only two options, and that was to hunt or join the warriors in some shape or form.
His frown turning pensive for a moment, as if he wanted to sigh and shake his head, he leaned down so that his head was closer to Zhen's, allowing him to whisper to her alone.

"They don't, and they probably will never understand. I have seen creatures like you and I, marked from harsh experiences. Some bear them with pride, others simply ignore the looks, or try to hide the marks. Others exaggerate. They did not get a scar in a fall or a fight they lost. They got them in fights they won, against a giant eagle or a rhino or even an elephant," he advised, the only form of comfort he knew how to give. That said, he straightened again and turned to Ebio.

"I know my limits."

Ebio'Femi:
He was back to cold, and she nodded with nothing more being said about it except for the bright idea that maybe they should go off to train together. They seemed enough alike, except Gloz said otherwise. Shaking her head. "Yes, but one may sometimes forget in the moment." Shrugging as she saw him dip his head towards ZHen. Seeing their moment even if it was just to tell her about others, she knew that is was probably his own way on helping Zhen.. A little bit went a long way and sincere smile came about her. Gloz could be kind, not many others knew but she knew.

Zhen:
"You never seen me run. I'm a lot strong than I look." She spat at him.. looking away now in disappointment. But stopped when her black ears caught the sound of him. He was right there, so close to her face and yet she fought the urge to fight him to prove him that she could. "You and I? You don't even know what Ive been through! All this is fake- all that smiling and laughing! Everything! I bet you don't even care! Keep running! You just.. Don't understand!" Her voice breaking as she exploded and yelled out before pushing his arm and running past them both. Breaking away from Ebio's paws before hitting the dust. Tears coming down her face as she ran. No one knew the horrors she went through and she thought she was single in her pain and anguish. Finally she had openned her mouth of how angry she felt towards everything. Her momentary break downs.. Before hand she was under everyone's paw. Quiet- and did everything she was told and beaten over and over again and used for target practice.. She was not gunna stay quiet now..

How do you change what you've always knew? She had to fight now.. This life of happiness, tecahing, smiling and loving.. She didn't know this. It wasn't her and she was finding it hard to fit in.. When she was a cub, she was happy and that was wrong in the pride's eyes. Now she was in a pride that was happy and being angry was wrong... Everything was so confusing! What was she suppose to do!? She already had a bitter taste in her mouth of it all as she ran off to the oasis she was put in. The first time she saw water in so long.. That was back when Gloz found her. Brought her to this wrenched place.. Her ears went down as she came up to the water. Planting her butt down and hanging her head low.

Glozelle:
Gloz looked to Ebio for a moment before following Zhen. He wasn't sure why he did it, but then he wasn't really sure why he did anything anymore. It was almost as if now that he didn't have that much-needed purpose in his life, the thing that made him worth something, he just existed. Perhaps being worthless wasn't as bad as he had once come to think.

He saw Zhen stop ahead of him and he slowed to a walk, coming up behind her and to the side a pace or two away.
"My birth killed my mother." His words were quiet and as full of emotion as the rock he tried to carve his being into. He sat at her side.
"From then until the day I was old enough to strike her back, her sister beat me. I wasn't much older than you were when I watched her pound the life out of my cousins. I managed to save one, but the beatings got worse because I took hers as well as mine." He didn't look at Zhen, merely out across the water. His cousin once told him that telling someone about your hurts helped ease the pain. Even now he thought she was an idiot sometimes.

"I was beaten by my superiors in duels, thrashed by my fellows for my dedication." He rose one paw to his scarred cheek.
"For failure to capture my half-brother." It motioned to scars on one leg. "A duel I lost when I was young."
Finally he undid the clasp from around his neck and let the pelt slide off. The network of scars were mostly old, but a deep wound at his shoulders and clawmarks running down his sides were definitely young.
"Another general tried to have me killed, because I wouldn't help him kill another king," he said and finally looked at her, his eyes narrowed slightly.
"Don't presume to think you know any more about me than I know about you."

Zhen:
Pouring tears, as she tried so desperately to hide them. She couldn't help it.. but she didn't whine like last time when he saw her like this. Biting her lip as she tried to blow off air to calm herself. Until Gloz found her, she felt his presence behind her and rubbed her paw against her face to clean the tears away before he came close. Upset and angry at being in the place... SHe wasn't worthy. That she knew. When he spoke only the first words, she turned to his paws, not looking up as she felt shame. Her ears openned to hear.. He too in some ways, were like her and when she heard the similiarities.. in some stand point. Nearly killed twice, but not having assassins attached to her. It sounded like a tale from the demons.. Looking up at him finally upon him finishing me. "Right." Tossing her gaze to the water. "I don't feel like I belong here... I don't deserve this." She finally tried to rationalize but the reasons behind it were still immature non the less as she spoke them.

Ebio'Femi:
When he ran, she couldn't help but follow after.. he was right. He was way faster than her, she could only imagen what he was like in prime condition. She stopped a few feet away, on the hill looking down at them, sliding to a stop.. He was already talking to her. Looking over them with soft eyes, she wanted to help but she knew nothing about their past. Her inability to feel their pain.. she wish she could take it all away from them. Causing her to feel depressed and almost- well hopeless to aid them. She could only offer her support to them.. Lowering her head as she watched from a distance.. Hoping that her heart could extend past what she knew.. One day they would open up to her.. or so she hoped.

Glozelle:
"You are different, you have lived a much harsher life than all of the others, but after all of this," he paused there to run the back of one large paw against her shoulder, "One would think you would deserve such a thing."

Gloz knew he sounded like a hypocrite. All her hardship that she should deserve a place like this and yet for his similarities he did not belong. But then there was the difference between them. Had she killed another? He doubted this. The horrible things he had done in his life, out of anger or pride or some strange, misplaced sense of betrayal and neglect... The marks he carried from that ran much deeper than the scars on his flesh. No one here had a reason to trust him. He was a traitor and a king-killer who chased grieving princes into the desert night.

He looked over his shoulder for a moment, catching sight of Ebio watching them.
"She worries for you," he finally continued, looking down at Zhen. "She only wants to give you a better life. One where you can be happy."

Zhen:
"I have shamed my father's pride..and I paid dearly for that." She only managed to say from her past. She was not ready to give out anymore information. "I can never be like them.. I don't know." Shaking her head, then raising her head up when he touched her shoulder. Ears back as she let out a sigh. "I'm.. trying not to disappoint her..but it's so hard... when you don't fit in with the rest. It's hard, they call her all the time to 'take me home'.. I'm trying.. I just don't know how I'm suppose to act anymore.." Her voice breaking every so often in her speech pattern. Looking at him with glossed eyes. "I don't know how to be happy anymore." Her skewed way of her upbringing. Torturing games were 'fun' while Zhen thought making mother and father smile was her happiness. It was all so confusing.. but somehow it touched her and hurt her worse knowing that she worried someone. Now that was directed to Ebio and when she sees the disappoint in her face she just wants to run away.. She looked over her shoulder but not at her.. Just over her shoulder in a quiet way. "How did you accept it then....being happy..?" Looking up at him again.

Glozelle:
Gloz looked away again, closing his eyes.
"It's hard to be when you have ghosts of past regrets. I suppose... The only times I've ever been happy was seeing happiness in my cousin," he replied, eyes opening as his ears flicked back. Seeing a happy look on her face, excitement or when she was pleased with something he had done. The day he'd been named warrior, she'd been happy for him. "My one good deed..."

But with those good memories came the bad. The horror and the disappointment when he returned from helping to murder the king. The pain in her eyes every time she watched her mother beat him. The sadness as they tracked Caspian into the desert only to veer off to leave him there, for she knew the young prince would be at the mercy of the gods.

He supposed Zhen was a good deed, too. But even saving her life did not make up for his past. He couldn't just forget what he was, couldn't forget his training. He followed orders, sometimes even when they were wrong.
He laid down, putting his head on his paws.
"I am not the proper role model for these things. I'm not a happy individual, nor do I intend to stay here..." Much as a part of him wished otherwise. "I can't tell you what is right or wrong, but I can tell you that here is the best place I have seen, here you will be safe, cared for, can have a proper life."

Zhen:
She stayed sitting, rump firmly on the ground. Hearing him and trying not to interupt like any other cub would. She was different and the same in many ways. Happiness, could it be deserved.. if so. Then if she deserved it in his mind.. then he should. He was sometimes a lot different from Ebio to another. He didn't casual talk to others.. "If you don't stay.. then take me with you." She gruffed, a light hiss as everything he said up to this point made sense. EXCEPT for that. Turning and doing a cub like this to jump on his arms, putting her face close to his in a very serious manner. Almost as close as touching their noses. "Its not fair you say your leaving and I deserve this and that- yet you won't even stay. If its so happy here. Then why should I stay- if your not. You should try and be happy too." STicking her tongue out, immature like as she had almost never been for a while. "A proper life.. when its deserved. When you go out training. I wanna come too. Happy happy- well my happy is in training." Huffing as his much larger nose than hers. "And DONT say no." Puffing her cheeks out. "She worries about you too yea know. " Wagging her tail then laid it to rest as she let her chin prop on her forearms.

Glozelle:
The side of Gloz's maw quirked up a bit, almost a smile.
"I can't stay here. I have to go back and make sure those who tried to kill me don't come to this place," he replied, leaning forward just a bit to touch his nose to hers for a second or two.
"And I can't take you with me, I don't want you to get hurt should things go bad and I can't... I know that if you did, I would focus too much attention on your well-being. Do you understand?"

Was it such a hard thing to ask of them? Someone had to go back, to keep the pride from the Dawnwalkers. Caspian could not. He was a father, this was his home, and he was the exiled prince. Gloz could go back. If Miraz was still alive, he probably knew nothing of Sopesian's treachery. He could return and at the very least keep an eye on things.
He let out a slow sigh.

"I know she does. I want her hovering as much as you do. But complaining would only hurt her feelings." He looked off again. He did find Ebio's mothering to be a bit much, but he was starting to grow fond of her company. He would miss it when he was gone from here.

Zhen:
"Then.." She was poked by his nose. "Train me and I can help you so you won't have to be alone. I can hold my own.. if you teach me." Tilting her head, her fluff ears going up again in attention. Her tail wagging softly as she put her chin on his nose. Looking in his eyes.. So much she had gone through, she could see it in his face that he could have gone through the same and worse. Perhaps. "Well leaving isn't going to help neither." Shifting her chin's weight from one side to the next then lifting off of it. "WHen you leave.. who else can get her off my tail." Puffing her cheeks up. "She doesn't know when to stop.. and I hate that dumb smile." In fact, she really liked it when she came out of school to see it, but she just didn't know how to accept such a happy person in her life from being treated like crap for most of her life now. "But I ...don't want that smile to go away." Her ears planted. "I know it will.. when you leave. It'll be annoying."

Glozelle:
She was determined and yet still Gloz could not give her the answer she wanted.
"There isn't enough time. I can't stay here long enough to train you properly," he replied, knowing that there was something missing in that statement. In truth, he did not even know enough to train her well enough to come back with him. The backstabbing and the intrigue... He himself wasn't prepared for that kind of thing. He was a warrior, he could barely fathom the politics that some of his pride members went by. She wouldn't be safe there.
Especially not if she was connected to him.

But Gloz couldn't tell her that. He was a prideful lion, and because of that he could not admit that she, Ebio, Ela, Caspian and his family, they were all weaknesses. One threat against any of them and he could lose his head when he needed to stay calm, collected.
He shook his head.

"I know it will make her sad, for a time. That is why you need to stay here, to make her happy until she..." Until she what? Forgot about him? Yes, he supposed, that would probably be the best thing. Raise Zhen, go on with her life, maybe meet a lion in the pride... A bitter taste rose in his mouth before he sat up, glancing over his shoulder for a moment.
"I'm sure giving her a hug will put a smile on her face. Have you tried that, yet?"

Zhen:
Ears went even lower as if she was cowarding but she wasn't. Just how she reacted enough to show him she could. Puffing her chest out only to be hit with that kind of blow. "So your ..just gunna leave me here." She threw her face aside. Hurting.. it hurt so bad. She left her whole family, she was captured and enslaved. Beaten.. "Leave us here." Pushing her paw against her face as to not cry. When did she become so weak? To have that family like she used to have? Her mother and father's touch? Except, they were demons.. their touch meant training but still. A Family. Her ears went up for a moment, coming to look at him then back down. "I lost my smile.. I never had anything to be happy about... Til now.. it hurts my face to smile now. Like it washes away like my paw prints in the sand. I want to.." Shaking her head. "I want to so bad..I'm just scared of losing it again."

Glozelle:
Gloz's ears fell and he did the only thing he could think of to possibly make her feel better.
He reached out with one large, worn paw and drew her into a hug. Closing his eyes, he shook his head.
"I want to keep you and Ebio safe, and my brother and his family. I can't do that here, just watching the boarders, waiting for more of our pride to come looking for us." His eyes opened again as he looked down, a small frown on his face, though that seemed to almost be the norm of his expressions.

"You won't lose it. Do you think Ebio would let you out of her sight for more than a few moments? But find it when you wish to, not when you think you have to." His paw moved under her chin, reminding him just how small she was in comparison. She needed Ebio just as much as Ebio needed her.
"Not everyone is meant to smile."

Ebio'Femi:
A warm feeling caressed her chest as she finally saw the glimpse of kindness in both of them. Something of a bond that made her softly gasp. Raising her paw to her mouth. Not noticing she was crying. Tears softly streaming down her face. In a soft smile that couldn't help but be placed on her face so gently. It was so touching that she couldn't help but be drawn back by his tender way of being with Zhen. Her heart almost felt hurt but it was so warm.. She couldn't help but be drawn to them as she slowly came up.. They were so much alike. More than they would ever know.. He was her connection to understanding Zhen, and the same for zhen to Gloz. Her voice so soft and tender.. almost as if it would crumble. "Everyone.. has a smile..some .........just need to find it." Coming up on Zhen's side of the hug, as she looked up at Gloz. Careful not to disturb their hug. Well, Gloz's way of hugging. Her tears had stained her fur.. But when she came up to them. They were glossy- she wasn't good at hiding her emotions. Looking back to Zhen again in a soft smile..

Zhen:
Her smile had indeed disappeared for the most part and when she was hurt, he took her in with a paw. He was so much bigger and it was true. She hadn't even realized since, her father was almost around that same size- her mother was also very large. Having him make her look at him.. Her eyes were big and disappointed.. Understanding the words coming out of his mouth but still. She didn't want to understand.. "It wouldn't be good if my pride came looking for me either.. but their probably too ashammed.." She spoke so lowly and hurt.. The hug was so comforting as she felt so .. tender and fragile of emotion. A soft chuckle came out of her in the mention of Ebio. "True.." Til she was spoken to about her smile- her world now... Then Ebio came, and like some odd family.. Her eyes went glossed.. and a weak smile formed- pathedic as her heart became so soft.... she started to cry again. "Were.. you crying Ebio?"

Glozelle:
Gloz looked up when Ebio came over. She looked like she had been crying, he had no doubt that she had been. She was such an emotional creature, fragile. He was right, she would need Zhen to help her when he was gone. It was becoming harder and harder to think about leaving. He knew he had to, but he also knew that it would hurt when he did.
His paw slipped from around Zhen and he set it back into the sand.

He didn't know what more to say. They were talking about smiles and crying and, it just wasn't something he knew how to deal with. Either of them crying, he was more than a little at a loss.

Ebio'Femi:
"I am terrible.. I couldn't hold them back." She whiped at her face again as she looked at Gloz. "He seems big and tough but he has a good heart..." She smiled up at Gloz, then took ZHen's chin. Lifting it as she leaned in and licked her face a little. Grooming her and comforting her. "You don't have to smile for me.... just be safe and don't force it. It will come with time.. and I am sure.. that Gloz would like to see it one day..." Her soft chuckle as she pulled the girl in. "I wouldn't let anything happen to you Zhen... you are family now.." The last words slipped out.. but she meant them non the less.

Zhen:
Somehow, she was going back to pleasing her father mode, but once she was taken in to Ebio's hug.. Her warmth was being given and she snuggled up to it. Thinking on Gloz's words and finally... accepting EBio. Lightly lifting up her paws to hug as well.. It was an odd feeling but worth a shot.. Pulling in to her fur. "It's.. not fake." Trying so hard for her hug to be accepted and when it was.. It seemed like everything was better now.. This was her knew home. She HAD a family- and the last bit.. which would have offended her by anyone else.. She felt. Good.. to hear those words finally.. No one would run her out of this family.. she wouldn't ever let anyone. "Come on Gloz- if I have to be hugged.. you too." She looked at him with a pouty and upset looking face. "Don't leave me to her D;!" She meeked at him.

Glozelle:
Gloz watched the girls hug one another, it felt like a eagle had wrapped its claws around his heart. Or was it a snake wrapping around it? Either way it was uncomfortable. The invitation into the hug made it even worse. It was as if the dream he had once had, a dream of a real family, was calling out to him again. Taunting him.
He couldn't have it, he didn't have a choice. He could either protect them by making sure than his pride never found the this paradise again, or he could risk everything by trying to stay. If only he had an ally he could trust, someone his uncle and Sopesian knew nothing about.
He had Ela, but... he had no idea where she was. Or if she was still on his side.

But he couldn't deny the want he had. And if he only got this one chance, he wasn't going to let it pass him by.
His maw twitching ever so slightly at one side, he shook his head before standing and walking into the hug. Zhen was pressed between the two adults as Gloz stared at Ebio's face, as if he was determined to memorize it, tears and all. It was barely a moment and then he leaned in to rest his cheek against hers, letting his eyes close.

Zhen:
She was squished- and she tried to puff up like a fluff ball but she couldn't instead.. she leaned in to the warmth of both bodies.. and with the long day at school and this.. She was tired. Snuggling in to both and just taking in their sent as she hugged them both. Trying to get her small hands to extend to both of them. She didn't even want to say anything- it'd break the moment.. but all this wormth.. Escaping a yawn as she leaned in more.. Her nose against Gloz's fur on the right, and on the left... Ebio's smell. This.. was her family.. Accepting it for just the way it was. Not bound by blood.. but. She could learn to love it. From this point on- she'd try to make them both proud and live if not only for thm..

Ebio'Femi:
Taken back by what Zhen said, she was about to say that he doesn't like that before he leaned in to the hug.. Her cheeks burned and butterflies started to form in her stomach. Like before, she would have declined and tried to stop it so she doesn't get hurt again... but she couldn't help it. She was in love with him and yes it hurt always having him push her away but when he was this close to her.. Against her and she locked eyes with him.. A blush was so thick and her heart leaped miles.. she got so nervous and shy. Opting to look away and down at Zhen, as if.. she was her child.. til he pressed his cheek against hers.. It melted every fiber of her.. She was one big mess. Quietly, and a smile so plastered on her face that it almost hurt.. Tears slid down her face but it took time for them to form. let like it came down in streams but OH did she want it to because her heart was just pouring. Leaning in to his cheek.. Hearing Zhen yawn she pulled her up closer to them. Holding her tightly.. Could she make a family of her own? Would this be the start?.... She didn't know. He wanted to leave so badly before but those thoughts fled. Not wanting to break the moment.. she was so shy that she had to do something and spoke softly in to his ear. "Shes about to fall asleep...." Her words so soft and tender, trying to contain and control herself.

Glozelle:
He felt the tears from Ebio's eyes trail down into his fur and Gloz moved his head just a bit, trying to nuzzle them away. He was starting to hate it when she cried, he didn't think there was anything he could do to stop whatever it was that was causing them. He knew, then, that when he left he would not be able to say good-bye to her. She would cry and... he feared that it would break him.

He nodded his head once and moved his maw closer to her ear.
"W- You should take her home. She's had a long day," he replied, catching himself before he said something he might regret. Home. This was what home had to feel like.
And he was training hard to leave it...
I must be going mad...

Ebio'Femi:
Her heart, she could feel it in her ears. The gesture of merely a lick to the creases of her eyes and tears made the fluttering almost feel like pain. Her glossy eyes opened to look at him. It was filled with feelings that she thought she kept closed forever. It was warm... could she even call it falling? But she knew it was different. Even from all the times she was hurt before. This was different. It even hurt to be with him knowing she couldn't even if she wanted to, he was leaving.. and the situation she'd put herself in again. Was hurt.

Zhen:
Zhen was possibly going in and out of sleep, she was always sleepy even if she didn't want to be. Maybe because of the past was catching up to her? No one would know, as she snuggled up and was pulled up by her neck fur. Still asleep.

Ebio'Femi:
For a moment, she thought she was about to hear- her heart lept once more. Holding her breath to hear those words. Finally, but they never came... Was she waiting for something to happen? She shook her. They were family even if they wouldn't accept it. Her home was always open.. He knew that but. It wasn't ever spoke of after that. His words, breath against her ear.. "Yea.." Pulling away slowly. Looking at him again in the eyes. Asking for something that she just wanted, before saying forget it with just her eyes. Making her heart pull away, and doing that felt like taring it out. Always so emotional, but she couldn't help who she was.. "Could you?" Looking from Zhen to him. Lifting herself up slowly, moving to his side.. Getting unusually quiet trying to push that distance in the way. Who was she kidding?

She even felt silly to think.. Waiting if he would put Zhen on her back to take her home. Even if she was slightly too big for that if she were awake. Now, she was asleep and couldn't protest. Motioning to Zhen then to her back. Softly pacing her tail.. Trying not to look at him, still her cheeks painted in pink. Now trying to make it go away. Shaking her head lightly.

Glozelle:
Keeping any emotion from his own face, something he had grown very skilled at, Gloz nodded and carefully picked Zhen up, sliding her onto Ebio's back. He should leave, then, that cynical little voice in his mind told him that his task was over and he should turn around and walk away, head back to his temporary living space to rest.
But he simply couldn't.

For a brief moment, he leaned forward again, touching his cheek once more to Ebio's as words, phrase after phrase floated through his head. He kept them all locked away, unable to say them for so many reasons.
Most of all, he didn't want to hurt her fragile feelings by saying something, an unspoken promise that he might never be able to fulfill.

A small stroke of his cheek against hers and he turned away, walking slowly back towards... Somewhere away from Ebio and Zhen, where he could maybe clear his mind.
No goodbyes, no false promises, not a single word in farewell, just that small nuzzle.
