Get a premium Skyrim map with your preorder
Making real maps of our fantasy worlds is an Elder Scrolls tradition. As Todd Howard said all the way back in a Morrowind blog post, “There’s something about having a physical object in your hands that feels like it’s part of this other world, that you are that person in the game, finding your way among the hills.”
With that in mind, today we are announcing that anyone who preorders Skyrim will automatically receive a premium quality world map with their copy as a no-extra-cost-to-you bonus.
To guarantee your copy of your premium quality world map, please pre-order today.
Update: We’ve received plenty of questions about the map. So you know, it’s a high-grade material that has a feel similar to burlap, and will be available in North America and European territories. There will be a regular paper map included in all copies of the game, but if you want to get the premium map, we recommend pre-ordering the game.

I for one would really like to know what they plan to include in the collectors edition of Skyrim.
I'm hoping for some very nice goodies.

I'm hoping for some very nice goodies.
It would be nice to know. I was thinking about pre ordering Mass Effect because of the collectors edition but Skyrim comes out first so...

I kind of just want to get it because the tin features FemShep on it biggrin You know, because someone finally acknowledged that I sort of exist and everything. Edit: Oh and, is that Samara on the new outfits part of the ad? I'm sick and tired of hearing about Liara this and Liara that.

I don't see a FemShep on the tin. But I do know they plan to market the FemShep more. The people cried out and Bioware listened to those cries. Um nope that's Liara sorry to disappoint you. I loved Samara she was bad a**, but Liara is my relationship partner after all. There was no way I was going to pick Ash, I can't stand bigots.

Right underneath the tin it says it features both. Ugrh. The colors looked similar but yeah, I think Samara was taller. Liara is just...eh. She doesn't do anything for me. If I ever get through a mShepard play I think I'll have to go with Tali, or Miranda. Ashley gets better as the game progresses, but yes, I was not especially endeared by her comment. Particularly the fact she omitted Tali and Liara from it, the two aliens who look remarkably human. Though I still like her as a character.
