There was one place for them to seek answers in regards to the vibrantly red crystal that Lyra... no, Ammolite now possessed, one 'definitive' source from whom all previous information that Zink had gained came from in regards to the crystals. The same woman whom had promoted him in the strange fields of Elision was now sought once more for her in depth knowledge and understanding of the Crystals.
He took Lyra with him, almost an escort into the familiar rooms of the Dark Kingdom, now though he thought of them as 'the upper levels' The three familiar chambers and the now familiar doors, ominous and looming but thrilling all the same.
He hoped that the General Queen would not mind this intrusion on her time, would appreciate that while the stone -was- in the hands of a senshi, it was in the hands of 'one of theirs'. His half sister... even if she was, by some accident of fate a 'magical alien' she was still theirs.
"This way I believe..." He said softly as he started his search for the familiar face. He wasn't sure it was truly polite to wander the anti chambers calling for a General Queen after all...

The subspace was something she used to not show fear towards. It was the place the was.. 'reborn' of sorts. The youma that would sometimes crawl the halls would look at her with interest, but for the most part leave her alone.
She used to find them creepy, scary, nasty... but now she only felt pity for them. She knew they were now just beasts, but the idea that they were once human and were degraded into such things being her own kinds fault... ate the senshi alive. They passed none as they walked, her brother guiding her... but she expected they were all inside the rift at the moment. They were in the old halls, not inside the huge doors of the newly awakened area.
Still, she felt comfort that she was not alone.
"Zink who are we visiting exactly?" He had never told her, only that he knew someone that could help. Someone whom could find the hidden powers behind the crystal. She did not know what she had picked up that day, being more of a raccoon and picking up something shiny than being knowledgeable in what she discovered. Only when it touched her finger tips did she feel it was different.
One hand reached inside her bow, and pulled out the red object to examine it as they walked. He was guiding her... so she didn't need to have total attention on the Halls.

Lyra would discover who it was they were visiting soon enough. After a moment or two of sauntering down the empty, dark halls, the placid form of General-Queen Laurelite glid into view some meters away. The eerie glow of her communicator crystal could be seen hovering over the palms of one of her hands -- talking to Apatite or Tanzanite, most likely -- but by the time they'd gotten close enough to hear her the conversation was over and the communicator put away.
And, seamlessly, her attentions shifted from that to the General and the corrupted senshi who were approaching her. "Good evening, Zachary," she began, amicably. "Did you have something to report?"

A small twitch at the corner of his eye at the name "Zachary"... oh how very much he was growing to prefer Zink or Zinkenite, being in uniform vs being in civilian clothing, but again, one most likely did not correct a General Queen, the name was less important than the purpose after all... right?
"I hope we aren't interrupting." He said with a tone to mirror her own amicable one if slightly more reserved and edged with a 'miss manners' politeness' that seemed to be ground into the fabric of his uniform at times.
"Ammolite... formerly...Sailor Lyra..." he said indicating his half sibling with a small bow. "Has discovered something I think will be of profound interest to us all. You were the first person to come to mind... for obvious reasons."
He glanced to Lyra with a small nod. "It's more than safe to show her..." He said quietly. He half wondered if the General Queen didn't already know about it, it simply seemed... likely, if only because it -was- her area of expertise. Still, he brokered in scraps of information, and saw little reason why others might not as well.

She could feel the woman before they even caught full sight of her, who couldn't? She had the same power levels as Tanzanite, so she thought maybe that was who they were seeing... until they rounded the corner and she spotted the unfamiliar lady. Her hand instantly balled into a fist with the crystal in it -- zink said to not show this to anyone... maybe this was not who they were meeting. Though if the General queen had asked, she would have obeyed anyways.
Instantly she took a step towards her brother. She normally wasn't this... nervous. But this was a general queen, one of her LEADERS. Clearly there was something to say there.
Looking between the two, she gave a little bow herself when she was introduced. "He-Hello."
Her hand did not relax from the precious cargo she held until her half sibling gave the cue, so this was who they were seeing. Stepping away, the short corrupted senshi approached the woman, making sure not to draw too close. Lifting her hand palm up, within it rested the Blood red crystal. Very similar to zinks in color, but a lot brighter. It was similar to the senshis hair color. "I found this the other day." Or better, it found HER.

"Even if you were... I trust you wouldn't interrupt unless it were with something important," Laurelite responded. "You've shown that you're smart enough, and experienced enough, to know better."
Their voices were like breezes rushing through the cold air of the hall, stirring the silence just enough to be jarring. The sound of footsteps was even more so, clacking over the reflective floor with a volume that made them out to be much larger than they actually were -- she was taking a couple of steps toward them, intrigued by both the corrupted senshi and the discovery she had made.
Lyra's hand slowly made its way upward, and even more slowly did it open: one could almost hear the clockwork whirring in her fingers as they unflexed themselves to reveal the treasure waiting inside. Another Crystal. It glowed softly from within, not unlike a star seed.
Laurelite was captivated.
"You've done well to recover this for us... Sailor Lyra. I take that it's already formed a bond with you..." A subtle, unusual change in her tone of voice accompanied that observation, though it could have been anything from disappointment to intrigue. "And you want to try and unlock its magic..."
Her eyes broke away from the hypnotic glow of the Crystal, meeting the gazes of Zinkenite and Ammolite in turn. "Yes... we can use this opportunity, I think. If you'll just follow me, I believe we can discover just how powerful these Crystals really are."

He would have had to be a Monk for such compliments not to turn his head at least a little. He dipped his head in deference, though his eyes sparked as she fanned the flames of his ambitions. Be better, be the best, make 'them' proud. However, 'They' were a strange and many faced creature, from those who ranked below him to those who ruled him... and at once as faceless as the Dark Kingdom itself.
"As you wish General Queen." He said with a bow, dignified and calculated, pieces sliding around a chess board, changing shape and power where and when they landed. He had questions, so many questions. They lit on the tip of his tongue like small birds anxious to take flight but caged between his teeth with bars of caution and dissgression.
His own hand reached to touch Lyra's shoulder in a small comfort, if she were a doll here and now he twisted her key to set her in perfect clockwork motion, Drosselmeyer's Doll.

Sailor Lyra.... the senshi had to bite the corner of her lip. Must everyone insist on calling her that? She got it was her true name, sure. But she did not like it... she chose to stay silent though. This was her leader, she had to listen to this woman.
She was at least glad to have even the minor praise, though the corrupted senshi still had NO clue what the hell she exactly found.
"I dont know really what i found but... i am glad you both think it will be beneficial to the dark kingdom." She said to them both, saying what she was thinking just a moment before.
Reaching up out of instinct, she squeezed her brothers hand once, before she left his embrace and walked forward. She loved her brother and felt the same burning curiousity that he had. So, like the wound up doll, she moved forward. Balling her fist around the object once more, she put it back in to the sash of her hip bow for safe keeping as the senshi followed the general queen top wherever they may go.

The time for words, it seemed, was over for the moment. Without saying anything more, Laurelite led the two down the vast hall of the Negaverse headquarters. For several moments the entourage was silent save for the obtrusive, arrhythmic click-clacking of their combined footsteps against the floor; the hall was becoming progressively darker in the direction they were heading.
It was a familiar direction, a familiar hall.
She was leading them to the door of the Rift.

Zink glanced at Lyra and then hurried to match his pace and stride to the General Queen, he wondered at their destination, their purpose. The door was still ominous enough that it sent chills crawling down his spine for all its terrible glory and its terrible past. Hard to imagine that... well, he pushed thoughts of Elision out of his mind. There were far more important things to worry about in the hear and now.
For example... what was the General Queen hoping to test? She surely...wouldn't feed Lyra to those shadowy figures that crawled and scratched at the walls of their eternal prison.... would she?

At first she was silent, but as she grew closer to their destination.... her heels clicked a little more erratically on the crystalline flooring. She was growing anxious, and her hunch was coming to life the closer they got towards the door.
She had to bite back her words, wanting to exclaim 'we are NOT going in there are we?'..... she was afraid of whatever was beyond those walls... they liked to stare at her. Some of them would even follow her as she moved past the walls, or at least the last time she went through there they did.
Making a move to pause, she waited until Zink was next to her... and she followed by his side. It was a sign of fear, but hell she did not want to turn into whatever was within those walls. Did they have teeth? Did they eat intruders? Would she become one of them if pulled in? Same faceless shadows... another reason she avoided the rift, the youma. She still felt sorrow for them.
"....Are we going to be visiting someone in the rift?" She asked, fearing the worst. That they were.

The door lurched over them with all the menace of a hungry dragon. The mystery behind its appearance had since been solved, but it only made it all the more intimidating to know what was behind it. "Tanzanite was generous enough to give me a report on the city she discovered behind this door... the Rift..."
She was still leading them towards it. Her intention was pretty clear. "I haven't had the chance to see it for myself, yet," she continued. "So, this will accomplish a few things at once."
Marthozite had always been a fan of killing two birds with one stone.
"Stay close behind me, Lyra..." The Hall of Shadows came into view very suddenly, very chillingly, once they were past the mouth of the door -- hollow faces watched them hungrily behind the barrier, their agitation throwing them against it as they walked past. "And guard her rear, General." Her voice, for once, was stern and carried with it the authority she possessed: the journey through the hall was proving to be a stressful one. Previously Zinkenite had passed through with a large crowd of Negaversers, which made the ordeal feel more like an eerie sort of field trip. It was a wholly different story going through it mostly alone.

His eyes drifted from side to side, watching the hollow and hungry eyes that seemed to devour them with their eyes, one could almost feel their shadowy fingers snagging at the hem of ones clothing if you had an active imagination. He followed close behind Ammolite, he hoped that their collective energy would more or less enfold her, keep her from being dragged in through the walls to join those shadowy figures.
"General Queen, would you mind if I inquired... do we know an exact number of crystals? Is... there some manner that they chose who they bond to?"
Perhaps it was rude, perhaps he would receive no answer but if he just knew... if he could just combine that and his notes and predict... a proverbial pipe dream to be sure, but if he only could.

She would let the general and the general queen speak... she would keep silent.
For now, she would use her concentration on making sure her lunch stayed down. She felt her stomach churning as they walked. Sure she felt the collective energies of the general queen before her, and the general behind her, but it also took a lot of willpower not to reach out and grab the back of the womans uniform out of fear. Instead she crossed her arms over her chest and walked silently.
They knew, they knew she knew. All the same the slight tingling of her own senshi aura would be enough to keep their hungry, soulless eyes on her. Her red hair being the beacon they were attracted to, a warm light in the sea of blues greens and blacks.... And boy, did it not help her mood.
She knew to keep silent, her voice probably would have chattered anyway had she tried. Lyra was a eternal rank senshi... but around this killing edge, she felt more like a rabbit running from a pack of lions.

It was strange to imagine that the bleak and ruined landscape of the Earth Capital beyond could be considered a blessing of a sight in the state it was in -- but when the first glimpses of what the place had in place of a sky came into view, it was like the light at the end of the tunnel. A sense of relief washed over the group, due to freedom from both the claustrophobic darkness and the hungering sentinels that loomed within the walls, as they emerged into what once must have been the city proper for the Earth capital. None had walked these pathways for years, unfortunately.
Or at the very least, no one human.
Laurelite broke their single file formation wordlessly, stepping out a little ways to survey the landscape. "Well..." she began, "let's see if we can find something suitable, shall we? If you'd like to lead the way, Zachary..."
