It had been... an exam? The little pup had managed to close his mouth, but as he wandered out of the class and down the hall it was with a very stunned expression. An... exam?! Why didn't anyone tell him that was what it was!
To be completely honest, had the ghost known what was going on right from the start he would have been painfully nervous. Starting part way through the semester as he did left him insecure and totally unsure of his capabilities. Not to mention, he was small. And not scary. So the realization that he had completed the exam without even being aware of it left him rather shellshocked.
Stumbling down the hallway, he was not thinking about congratulating his peers, or washing his hands to minimize his chances of catching an illness from that sick minipet. He was too absorbed with thoughts of how he could have gone wrong, and fears about entering second year courses the following semester.

Jove may not have been aware of their little private lesson being an exam, but Hadiyya had been, and to say she'd been nervous was a bit of an understatement. A newly acquired fear of their instructor likely didn't help matters either. Both likely playing contributing roles in her woeful failure. Still, pass or not, she was moving forward to the second year, and it was hard not to be proud of herself for the accomplishment.
Celebrating would have to wait though. She'd touched the sickly pet in the exam, and she had the terrible urge to cleanse herself. Not just her hands, but her entire being. The chances of catching what the miserable little creature had were slim, but after their last sex ed class she was not willing to take any chances. A bath was clearly in order.
She ran into Jove wandering the halls on her way back to the dorms, and falling into step beside him, frowned down at his rather shocky expression. "Jove, are you alright?" A hand came up to touch his shoulder but stopped barely an inch from him, remembering the possibility for infection. "Hey, we should probably go clean up a bit after touching that pet, don't you think?" She didn't like the vacant look on her little friend's face. "How about you come with me, I've got a huge bath. We can add bubbles."

Jove nodded woodenly, and then looked up at Yaya with a terrible "Why didn't you tell me?" expression as they headed towards the dorms. Surely she had known it was an exam... He suddenly felt exhausted, and bumped his head against her shoulder in a half defeated expression. How in hell was he going to make it through the following year?
His ears flopped down as Yaya mentioned cleaning up. Yes, they should wash. Jove had become very fond of the little thing during his brief encounter, but he definitely did not want whatever it was the thing had. He didn't want to even think about his long fluff falling out, and his skin getting all scabby and itchy, the bruises were bad enough! He wouldn't be able to show himself at all looking like that!
Thankfully Yaya distracted him with the b-word. His ears immediately perked up. Yes! That was what he needed to feel better! It had helped Ren and himself feel better after the island, and it would surely help him feel better after that lesson that wasn't a lesson. Jove's tail gave a short little wag, and he picked up the pace towards Yaya's dorm.

Narrow shoulders gave a helpless shrug to his questioning look. Had she realized he wasn't aware of of their lesson being an exam she'd have told him, but how was she to know the pup had been unaware? The smile that followed was both an apology and meant to encourage, and she leaned to lay the softest of kisses to the top of his head as it came to rest on her shoulder. "It's over now, no use worrying about it." She wished she'd have done a little better, that she'd been able to accurately diagnose the poor creature, but there wasn't a point to dwelling.
The wag of his tail was all the agreement she needed, and she chuckled as she draped her arm around his shoulders. Careful not to brush her had against him or his clothing. It was a little bit awkward, but not half as much as walking so close beside him without touching at all.
"I've got bath salts as well if you like." She had a variety, and they all smelled sweet and clean and did wonders to help ease stress and strain from the body.
Happily she lead the boil along on route to the demon dorms. Humming happily under her breath as the climbed the stairs at the entrance and made their way up to the djinn's own room. Releasing the boil only when they'd reached her door and she had to fish her key from the bands of her skirts. Unlocking and opening the door for him, she ushered him inside. Soen, dozing on one of the pillows that surrounded her low table, glanced up at them before yawning and dropping his head back on folded paws.
"Straight into the bathroom I think," she murmured to the whisp, gesturing towards the door set in the side wall. "Least we risk endangering my babies."

Jove seemed unaware of his friend's awkward posture as he followed her lead towards the demon dorms. Inside was always a marvel, everything was so grand and luxurious, not even his caretaker's home. He knew the elderly vampire could afford what he wanted, but he never went overboard, buying finery for the sake of having it.
He was so busy looking at the paintings and decorations on the wall, and the rich hallway furnishings that he was caught off guard by Yaya's motions to go inside. Even now her room was fascinating to his senses, the soft carpet and silk cushions, the exotic scents of incense drifting through the air... But he didn't need to be told twice to head straight to the bath! He trotted over to the giant tub without touching a thing, and then just sort of hovered uselessly with his tail wagging.
This was going to be so great, he thought. His own tub was small, his brother's a bit larger and better for playing in... But this bath tub! It was enormous! And it smelled so good, Yaya was wonderful for letting him bathe here.

Once inside the richly furnished bathroom, the djinn nudged the door closed behind them with the tip of her toe, still justifiably reluctant to touch much of anything least she spread whatever infection that poor pet had to one of her own little darlings. She moved straight to the sink and turned the water on as hot as she could bare before rinsing her hands thoroughly, and only then added soap so she could scrub up to her elbows. When she was finished she coaxed the water down her arms and off the tips of her fingers, leaving her skin pristine and dry. Who needed towels?
"Alright," she said happily, turning at last to the tub and sitting down on the edge of it so she could reach the tap and turn it on. Steaming water flooding out to fill the grand basin beneath it. "You, down to the skivies and straight into the tub." While she spoke she'd poured a cap full of some sweet smelling purple liquid beneath the running water, and frothy bubbles were beginning to raise rapidly along the surface.
While he did that, she would go and change into her swimsuit. Grinning as she passed him and slipped through the door into her dorm and off towards the bedroom.

Jove didn't need to be told twice, the moment Yaya left the room he pulled off everything but his shorts and hopped into the still steaming water. The little ghost didn't have to worry about overheating or getting scalded by hot water, he rather enjoyed it. A hot bath was the best way to warm up his entire body. He could feel what it was like to be a living, warmblooded creature for a time.
He paddled around quite happily as the water continued to fill the tub. This was like his own miniature swimming pool! One where he didn't have to worry about sinking, or not being able to touch the bottom. It was perfectly pup-sized.
The little ghost played around with the quickly forming bubbles, and then put his head under the surface to listen to the roaring of water from the tap, expecting to have the bath entirely to himself. After all, ghouls and boils only swam together at the pool, or outside. Bath tubs were an entirely different thing! So he splashed around with the confidence of knowing he was alone, and then flopped on his back, scrawny limbs splayed out, tail wagging. There was so much room in this bath tub!

Moments later the ghoul returned in her official Amity swimwear. A black and orange one-piece, it wasn't incredibly flattering, but considering who she was sharing the bath with, that was sort of the point. "It's nice, isn't it?" She asked softly, indicating the frothy mound of bubbles that was filling the tub. In her own mind, nothing really beat a long, hot bath at the end of a trying day, or on the tail of something messy. Or just in general. As a marid, the djinn was very partial to water.
The door to the bath was nudged closed once again with one dainty foot as she entered the room. Hands preoccupied by the copious amount of hair she was currently weaving into an impressive braid. Hadiyya had long since mastered all manner of tricks with the thick fall of black silk, and what would have taken an average person ten minutes or more took less then five. When it was finished, she ended the braid with an elastic band and pushed it back over her shoulder before taking a seat on the edge of the tub. "It's not too hot, is it? I can turn the temperature down." Coming from a desert climate, heat was sort of relative.

At the sound of Yaya's voice, Jove startled so bad he could have drowned himself had he not been past the point of death to begin with. What was she doing back in here?! It was not a swimming pool, it was a bath!
Jove zipped to the far side of the bath as quick as possible, snorting bubbles out his little nose and curling up into a scrawny ball so Yaya wouldn't see the bruise marks decorating his left side, from just below his freckled shoulder to the waistband of his shorts. No, noooo, he wasn't supposed to share baths with ghouls!
Looking at him in that minute, the temperature could have been too cold for the way he hugged himself. But his behaviour would have to be answer enough, he was too shocked at his friend's presence to give any coherent response for her questions.

The ghoul paused as the little ghost sputtered and tucked himself into the corner of the bath, pale features aghast with pure surprise. It had softly luminescent eyes blinking in benign curiously, the delicate point of the djinn's chin tipping gently to one side. Had he not been expecting her to join him? From the look on his face, the stream of bubbles snorted out his little nose, clearly not. "You're wearing trunks," she reminded him mildly, fending off the amused smile that was threatening to stretch across dark features.
The placement of dainty hands had Yaya rolling her eyes. "I've seen the bruise, and you know I don't care a bit about it. Why are you acting so bashful?" She didn't wait for an answer before sliding into the bath, but she did regard him with an expectant gaze.
She'd seen him in much the same attire when she'd taught him how to swim, so she failed to see what the big deal was with her sharing the tub now. It wasn't a pool, but it was a very large bath, and both were in proper swim wear.

Jove snorted another round of bubbles, this time his shock and horror bordering on indignant. Just because she had seen his bruised side before, it didn't mean he wanted her to see it again! It still made him feel edgy, in a way no amount of freckles ever had. So he did his best to minimize what Yaya could actually see by sinking down in the water until he was nose-deep in bubbles.
The pup met her gaze in an attempt to prove he wasn't being bashful. In spite of the soft glow to his cheeks. Oh, but it felt so awkward, he couldn't convince himself it was a swimming pool with the bubbles floating around, or the hot, relaxing temperatures... This was a place meant for cleaning, not swimming! And cleaning was best left a solo activity as far as Jove was concerned.
With a noise that was part grumble and part whine, the pup turned to face the corner of the tub, and began washing one foot with a determined focus.
