On one of her nightly patrols, Maenalus walked along city streets that were illuminated here and there by an occasional streetlamp. The light reflected off of the streets that were still wet from an earlier storm. It had stopped raining a while ago, but the senshi had been caught in the last bit of it and her hair and fuku were slowly drying. The only sounds were the echos from far away cars driving by and splashing in puddles, the click-click of Maenalu's heels, and the occasional sigh from the senshi. Sometimes patrols could be so boring.
Another sigh.
The senshi kicked a pebble at her foot and her shoulders slumped. Maybe she could call Circe and see if she was busy of if she could patrol with her, but then she remembered last week that she'd said she had something to do this week. Was it work? Hanging out? She couldn't remember.
Really, she wasn't bored, she was lonely.

 The rain had caught Polaris off guard as well as she patrolled. But she had, on the otherhand, almost enjoyed the drizzle. She had almost decided to take cover, but uncertain whether the rain would stop any youma, she had continued on. The pricks of cold droplets had been exhilerating and refreshing. And thanks to her boots she hadn't has to worry too much about slipping and falling.
She had to worry more about her hair drying then anything else once the rain had finally stopped, but atleast she had an idea. If she ran.. that would help dry her off faster right? She was confident enough in her boots and her experience that she wouldn't fall even on the slick roofs.
It had begun more as a jog.. that had evolved into a run that often had her closing her eyes in delight and grinning from ear to ear as she bound from one roof to the next.
Until ping..
She stopped.. or tried to, skidding a few feet across the concrete roof she had just landed on as she felt the tell tale sign of a power signature. Friendly.
Searching the edges of the roof, she spotted the other girl down below. It wasn't one she knew, atleast that she could remember. Ever the social senshi, she quickly jumped down towards the street. Calling out cheerfully. She was in a good mood it seemed. "Hello there"

Maenalus had been dragging her fingers through her hair to keep it from knotting when she noticed the energy signal getting closer, but it was only when she heard someone speak that she jumped a little bit and realized it was right above her. She looked around until she saw the light-haired eternal senshi standing nearby. While she wasn't one to strike up conversations with strangers on the street, senshi were another deal entirely. She felt like she could talk to any one of them who she met.
"Oh, hi!" She smiled. "I'm Maenalus, Senshi of Mountains."
As she continued looking over the new senshi, she found herself admiring the fur ruffs on her fuku. But what were with the buttwings? Oh, and also that energy signal that was much stronger than your average senshi's. Of course, Maenalus hadn't met an eternal senshi before, otherwise she would have known better.

Now that she was closer it was easy enough to tell from her power signature that this senshi, Maenalus, was a lower level one. Most likely fairly new, though one never did know, power levels could sometimes be deceiving, especially on the bad side.
"Polaris, eternal senshi of magnetism" She greeted in return, going so far as to offer a white gloved hand. It was still a tiny bit damp.. but the other girl looked just about as drippy, so she didn't worry too much about it.
"Are you patrolling alone tonight?" It was something more than anything she wished cats informed the senshi of when they awoke them. If nothing else that it was very dangerous out.. and there was a very large chance of getting your starseed ripped out of your chest. No use starting a greeting by nagging though, she could kindly inform the other girl later. "Would you like some company maybe?"
In the past when people looked at her costume she often got blushy or self concious.. it wasn't only once or twice her outfit had been compared to a stripper and it was hardly modest. But ever since her skirt had filled in and her badge of power butt wings had appeared she was suddenly feeling something else. Was that a little pride? Surely the blush would return if it had been a male, or if she noticed the other girl focusing on her stomach or chest.

Maenalus smiled and shook the eternal's hand. "Nice to meet you!" She nodded in return to the question. "Yeah, usually I go out with my friend Circe, but she was busy tonight." Circe wasn't just her go-to for patrol buddies, she was kind of the only one Maenalus regularly went out with.
Once more, she nodded. "That'd be great! I mean, if you're not busy or anything." She enjoyed meeting new senshi and patrols, though she hated when they ended in youma fights. Or worse, conflicts with the Negaverse. Hopefully they'd luck out and have a low-key stroll around the city, intimidate evil into cooperating and being still, at least for one night.
Her eyes wandered to the inky sky and she thought about her own fuku. It was rather plain at the moment, but maybe by the time she reached the Eternal stage, her uniform would have significantly more bells and whistles.
"Do you patrol around here often?" Maenalus asked the elder senshi, curious if they'd be overlapping again or if she should get her own turf, so to speak.

"Circe" Polaris repeated the name softly, trying to connect the name with a face. But in the end she could not, she didn't know the senshi it seemed.
"I'm definately not, and I would love some company" She said with a smile. Polaris was a little bit of a hypocrit sometimes. It wasn't that she wanted to be lone wolfing it all the time. But it was hard to find other senshi that could tolerate her in large doses and patrolled so incredibly often. Perhaps all the others had lives and stuff to break up their days. But unless she was injuried it was absolutely in the norm for Polaris to patrol 6 days out of the week. Especially considering the fact she'd recently began to hunt for things other than the stray youma.
Niflhel was an absolute peach, but even he couldn't be with her all the time. And besides.. she did so love meeting new senshi and partnering up.
"Oh umm. Actually I don't have any one place I go." Atleast subconciously. It was probably true that the areas within a couple miles of Crystal Academy got a little more attention then other places, but Polaris was fairly well roaming. Each night she would choose a direction and move around until she felt anything, be it good or bad. Or if she just had a feeling.. sometimes if she just hung out long enough she'd find some kind of trouble to take care of. Muggings to thwart, prostitutes to run off.
Laughing a little she pondered out loud as she began to walk again, assuming Maenalus would follow. "I kind of figured that since many senshi do control the same places over and over it was best if I just went everywhere. Just in case any areas are being missed by others, or incase anyone ever bites off more than they can chew and need help."
"Turf wars are awfully silly for allies I think. But I've heard some crazy things in the past."
"Have you been a senshi for long?" She added, slightly curious.
