recently a Southwest pilot left his microphone on and sayed a few negative words about homosexuals, elderly people and overweight people such as "there are so many gay people" and "so many grannies" and "grandes" my point is people care so much about what people say that they almost ask for it so they can on the news and say that it was "dis-respectful" and just plain "wrong" what ever happened to "don't listen to what other people say" the most influential people in the world didn't care what people sayed about them, if they did they would not have completed their "mission" good or bad. we all need to have more self pride and think of these remarks as insignificant if we too want to complete our misssion.

We live in a fear based society where people are basically raised by the media to feel shame for what they are, to feel inadequate, and hide their vulnerabilities. Old age, sexuality, race, wealth, etc are some of the biggest in our culture that people are very shameful about themselves, because their not young, not straight, and not white.
Usually it's not that they are offended by what the person says about them, it's what that person says that reminds them about themselves that makes them feel insecure and ashamed.
As nice as it would be able to say "suck it up" and "have a back bone", it's not an effective way to promote pride, and wholeheartedness in one's life, mind, body, and spirit
