Nawat pawed at the side of the mountain, staring up at its peak a little defeated. He'd made barely any progress over the course of the day, the summit still seemed to be more than two days climb. And that was assuming he found no problems in footing. He had seen the glint of something near the top, enhanced in his dreams, and the voice within him desired to find it. It would have been easier had he found someone to guide him, but he hadn't wanted to wait. Besides, if he'd partnered up they may have wanted to share in whatever was causing the glimmer. It could be jewelry, or even gems, he wanted it to himself. It would be getting dark though, and without a guide it could be dangerous to continue. He'd rest here then. Before that though, he'd need to find water. But where? He'd never been very good at sniffing it out.

Magaskawee looked around from her cave nestled in the mountains. The sun was setting, and she hadn't done her usual scanning of the area yet. An unenthused yawn exited the mare's mouth as she stretched her wings in preparation for her flight.
After taking off with ease, the wind squinted toward the ground for anything that could be a predator. Her brown eyes spotted something equally brown, and she dove toward it. It was a dangerous world out there, and she'd learned how to protect herself. Without a word, she nearly clipped the stallion before darting back up into the air. Mags swooped a few more times at him before landing barely in eyesight of him. "What is your business here?"

He flinched as the bright blue and orange flitted past him, nearly losing his footing. With an agitated grump he stepped back, trying to focus himself on where she had landed. As much as he wanted to be upset, he couldn't help but crack a smile when he found her. A wind, she must have come to guide him since he lacked the wings himself. His business? Maybe she hadn't been sent from the dreamlands after all.
Laying back an ear he attempted his best non threatening smile. In reality, it turned out slightly twisted into a grimace. "I'm hunting shinies," he said after a moment, gesturing up to the summit with a hoof, "They're up there, waiting." Though, now that he thought about it they might well belong to a wind if they had their caves up in the mountain. He hadn't considered that possibility.

Magaskawee raised a brow at the stallion. "Shinies?" He was obviously not a threat, and even if he could be, all she had to do was fly away; he was grounded. She approached him cautiously and slowly, speaking in a curious tone. "Shinies as in jewels, precious metals, and jewelry?" The mare wondered what a horse would do with such things. Sure, they could wear jewelry and such, but other than that, all they could be used for was something nice to look at.
Mags looked up the mountain to her current home. "Well, I've lived here for quite a time, and I haven't noticed any of these 'shinies' you seek. Though I suppose they could be hidden away somewhere." Her own curiosity on the subject was growing. She wasn't really one to be interested in such silly things, but perhaps this could provide something to do for a little while. Her petals floated about her, glowing with each thought. Apparently they liked the idea of an adventure.

"Just the same as you describe," he agreed, a bright smile written deep across his face. Nawat was rarely upset, even being told his quest had likely been for naught. "There's always some hidden away if you look deep enough," he explained, "Though some are guarded by ghastly beasts." He looked about, then turned back to her with a mischievous expression, "You hardly seem ghastly though, so I'll take your word of ignorance and keep on." That comment was like as not to earn him another buffeting from those wings, but he couldn't keep himself from behaving as he did. It made life interesting to be reckless. "Care to wager on my dreams being right?"

Magaskawee scowled for a moment. "I'm certainly not ignorant." Her flower petals surrounded the stallion, seeming to be preparing for attack. However, at the thought of an adventure, they calmed and returned to their host. "Well," the mare began, looking down at the small gold bracelet on her leg, "I'll be your guide, but if there is treasure, I'd like a new bracelet. Or perhaps a necklace." She nodded and grinned a little. She wasn't the type to covet items; she was simply testing the waters.

He flinched when the petals came toward him, but relaxed quickly when they left. "Only fair," he told her with a laugh, giving a little bow in promise, "You'll have the first pick of anything we find, you have my word on it." What his word was worth varied depending on who you asked, but he could hardly outrun her in this terrain so he opted for the honest approach. "So you said you live in this range, where haven't you been before?" he asked, peering up the summit. There had to be somewhere, there was always something hidden.

Magaskawee smiled at the stallion. "Then it's a deal." She thought for a moment before cringing a little. "Well, there is one place... But there's one thing. It's controlled by Kalona." She looked the male over for a moment. "Would you consider yourself a fair fighter? I mean, you look big enough, but... They can do some serious damage." The mare knew she could just fly away if things got too tough. She easily towered over any Kalona she'd ever seen, but wasn't quite willing to take any chances.
