Welcome to the 2nd Annual Quidditch World Cup!
The first ever Quidditch World Cup was held in 1473 between Bulgaria and Romania.
It has been 538 years since the first Quidditch match, and now, we are very lucky to have our own Quidditch World Cup competition here at Hogwarts. This year, it's Team Ireland vs Team Peru.
Only the strongest, bravest players are fit to be Beaters. Be proud of your positions and play as best you can!

Rules
Before we start playing, I want to make sure everyone understands the Rules. We don't want to give out any extra penalties.
1) If you're not a Beater, you can still post here. However, I encourage you to do most of your chatting in the Stands.
2) Do not post the answer to a Riddle in this thread (or anywhere else). Answers should always be PMed to me.
3) When sending riddle answers to me, please make sure the subject has your Team's Name AND the Series Number. The Series Number will be posted in the Current Riddle section of this thread.
4) Beaters are only allowed to send me ONE PM per Series. Multiple PMs (in a series) will cost your team points, even if the answers are correct!
5) If you have a question about how this game will work or anything else, ASK IT. I prefer you to post your questions here, there's no need to PM me a question.
6) Take the time out and sign some autographs with your fans. The Stands is the event's main hangout thread. Participation is key to win the House Cup!

How To Play
Beaters have a very important job in Quidditch.
In order to protect your team from the Bludgers, you must correctly answer riddles.
I will post a new batch of riddles in the Current Riddle section (the next post) each week.
Each Beater will get to send ONE PM to me each week with the answers to the riddles.
The riddles will all be Harry Potter related.
Scoring:
*Correct answers mean that you've kept the Bludger away from your team, and sent it towards the other team!
Correct Answers will take 10 points away from the opposite team!
*Incorrect answers means you sent the Bludger towards your own team members! (Oops!) As a result, Your own team will lose 10 points from their score, so answer carefully.
*Unanswered questions will be treated as incorrect, so be sure to answer each question.

(And the answers too!) Series One Riddle 1:
First think of the person who lives in disguise,
Who deals in secrets and tells naught but lies,

Answer: a spider
Riddle 2:
A married leader and a single slave
The toothless elder now gone to his grave
The death for which the younger took the blame
Committed by the one he could not name
They've ten between them, ten that do not see
Now name the leader and his enemy.
Answer: It's Aragog and the Basilisk.
Explanation:
Aragog married Mosag and now leads the spiders in the forest. The basilisk lived alone and worked for the heir of Slytherin.
Aragog's still alive, but the basilisk was killed by Harry and lost a tooth in the process.
Aragog was blamed for Myrtle's death and refused to tell Hagrid that it was really the basilisk.
And Aragog has eight eyes, which have gone blind with old age, while the basilisk had two which were pecked out by Fawkes.
Riddle 3:
I make your teeth go chitter,
At the same time I am sweet,
Some of my friends are bitter,

My name constists of two words,
With a hyphen inbetween,
