He was still rather nervous about the whole idea of keeping a group of kids together and safe while wandering around the woods but he couldn't just hide the whole weekend and follow around the other counslers. So he'd asked the heads if he could take a few of the kids out and they'd agreed and so here he was waiting for the kids who were going to show up. At least, as far as he'd been told, the group was going to be small and other counslers wanted to come too so things should be a bit easier. He just had to hope that no one tried to do anything silly that he'd have to stop.
He'd gotten up early and put everything together for the walk. He had his own bag with a couple water bottles and some snacks. He'd told the kids to bring their own also, just in case, but he wasn't positive all of them would. He also had enough disposable digital cameras for each of the people who'd signed up to come along. He'd thought about getting normal disposable cameras but he just knew that he'd spend more time trying to explain film to the kids than actually getting them anywhere to take pictures if he did. It was almost sad that kids didn't know about film these days. It made him weep for the antique camera's he had.
Setting the camera's out on one of tables in the main cabin he checked his watch again and waited. It hopefully shouldn't be long for the campers to make it here.
((Campers and Counslers who are coming along. Please feel free to mingle, pick up your camera, or ask Lucien anything you wish.
The Nature walk will last for a few days to give every one time to post and enjoy themselves around the camp. Post from me will come mostly late morning/early afternoon or at night due to my work schedule. I will make the first shift out onto the nature trails when I get home from work tonight so likely around 10pmEST tonight. Until then feel free to mingle around the cabin with the others coming along as you wish. Any major post shifting the Rp location while they move around the trails will be posted in a shout bubble so no one misses them.))

A nature walk? There was no way Ainsley was going to miss a chance to see a bunch of new animals in their natural environment. At least, she hoped she'd be able to see lots of animals along the way -- if she didn't manage to see anything she'd be awfully sad. She'd be happy even if she was able to see a new kind of bird along the way, although she had hopes for more than just that. She'd even left her braids out in hopes to keep the animals relaxed around her as Sam had suggested they might.
She didn't see anyone though, just one counselor at the table and meeting spot. Where were the campers? She peeked in, wondering if perhaps she had the wrong time, or wrong day. Had she gotten confused in her excitement? Her little hands squeezed the door frame as she leaned against it and looked at the adult setting up the cameras on the table. She was going to turn her heel and leave, thinking she'd been mistaken, but she was positive this was the place so instead she decided to ask. She tiptoed in, standing behind him for a moment.
"Excuse me?" She asked. "Is this the right time for the Nature Walk?"

Griffin woke up nice and early as always, and checking her itinerary, saw that today was the first nature walk. She would be helping to supervise it, and looking again at the paper, made a mental note. Lucien was the name of the junior counselor who proposed it. When she had heard that there would be photography involved, it sounded like the perfect activity for her! She picked up her Nikon and slung it over her shoulder along with a canteen. It never hurt to be prepared and hydrated, right? She had told the campers of Azalea cabin to join her and was happy when she approached and saw Ainsley.
She saw the disposable digital cameras and thought of how cute they were. However, she also missed the days of film. The only reason she'd opted for her digital camera over her oldie but goodie today was on the off chance that they saw some wild animal or something and didn't want to waste the time adjusting the shutter speed and aperture and let it get away. Plus she could take pictures of the kids enjoying themselves for the parents, and it'd be easier to give them a CD with the pictures than to develop a dozen copies.
She approached Lucien and smiled. "Hi, I'm supposed to help you with the Nature Walk today. I'm Griffin- er... Hawkeye." She quickly glanced at Ainsley, hoping she hadn't heard her non-camper name.

Fiona had been enjoying camp, mostly because it gave her a real excuse to be outside 90% of the time and because it meant taking a break from her senshi life. It was a break that had been much needed and she was enjoying the different kind of stress that came with watching over a bunch of children. Plus she got to share her strange love of bug hunting with others and find that it an interest to some of the kids.
There she was, heading towards Lucien as he worked on setting up his little activity. "Hey," she said softly offering a smile to the boy whom had become a close friend in the recent months. She glanced at the row of cameras as Griffin introduced herself, careful to not interrupt their conversation.
While they chatted she turned her attention fully to the cameras, fingers skimming over the tops of a few before she plucked one from the line, holding it gingerly as she turned back towards Lucien. "I can take pictures too right?"

He jumped slightly when he heard a voice behind him, not expecting one of the campers to be able to sneak up on him. Cheeks flushed slightly in embarrassment he turned around to look at her.
"Y-yes. You're the first one to come ... so i'll let you have first pick of the camera's." They all had different covers on them with various designs, some more meant for boys and others for girls. He had figured the kids would like those better than the boring black ones.
When Fiona and one of the other counselors showed up he smiled. He'd been glad to see that his friend had volunteered at the camp too. It was easier knowing there was someone there he knew.
"Yea, you can both take pictures if you want." he nodded. "I got enough camera's for everyone who signed up to come along or help."

"Oh good!" She replied cheerfully turning away to browse through the cameras before plucking one with a butterfly design on it out. She would have preferred dragonflies but she was content with the butterflies as she turned it over in her palms, stepping backwards so she'd be able to get Lucien in the frame as she held it up to her face and pressed down on the button.
"Smile!" She told him, a bit late as the camera clicked and took the picture.
She let her arms drop and she grinned at her friend. "I'm really glad you're doing this, it's a really good idea."

Griffin nodded to Lucien. Taking pictures was her plan. Watching kids was... also a priority, she guessed. She frowned at how small the crowd was, maybe it was too early? Or the kids were busy? Then again, they were probably sleeping. She had noticed that as the week wore on the kids were more and more tired. Probably just because they got tuckered out from their activities during the day and without their parents or their own beds, didn't get as good of a night's sleep as they should have. Whatever the case, she shrugged and began to fiddle with the settings on her Nikon.
She sure hoped more kids showed up. Then again, it'd probably be more likely to see wild animals, as the fewer people they had, the less likely they would scare them away. "Oh, Lucien, which trail are we taking?" She had more or less memorized the camp map and even had ones of the area not issued by Camp Larkspur and a topography map. Of course they were useful with the handy-dandy compass she also had tucked in her pocket.

Ainsley hadn't heard Griffin say her name was Griffin and not Hawkeye, but she had seen her come in. She remembered her face from the first day of camp and offered the older girl a small wave of her hand before she turned her attention back to Lucien and the cameras. She gave a tiny smile to him as she approached both him and the table that the cameras were on, settling down just in front of the table as she gave it a look over. There were a lot of different cameras and the child looked between them the camera selection before finally picking up a dark green one and pointing it up at him.
"Smile!" She said with a giggle before snapping a picture of Lucien with it.
