Aislin. The name was very familiar to Sparrow as he stood at the entrance to the ghost dorms, holding a small slip of paper in one gloved hand. He tried to remember where he had heard it before. Had it been during the Open House, perhaps? He had met so many people there that it was difficult to separate the faces; they all seemed to blur together in one big, confusing blur, but Sparrow was determined to figure this out. He tapped a finger against the side of his face. Aislin...Aislin...

...ahhh, yes. The ghost - the blonde ghost who Jove was scared of.

He could remember her now; tall, beautiful, blonde, and thin. She had been with that other ghost, the one with dark grey skin and black hair - one of Jove's friends. If his thoughts were correct, she was quite...forward. No, perhaps that was the wrong word; after all, it was impolite to judge someone from a quick first meeting where they had not even been properly introduced. Perhaps confident was a better word; yes, that was what he was looking to describe her. Very confident.

And what Sparrow also remembered was that judging by the expression on her face when she had glanced at him briefly, she was one of those ghosts - the ones who did not take lightly to reapers.

He sighed. Reaching up a hand to rub the back of his neck, Sparrow stepped into the dorms, looking down at the piece of paper where he had scrawled Aislin's room number. He felt it proper to introduce himself politely beforehand, instead of merely showing up the day of the dance. Once he reached her room, he tucked the paper into his jacket pocket, straightened his vest and smoothed down his clothing, then knocked on the door.

After some impatient waiting the little message with the results of the Blind Date had been delivered. Aislin curled up in the pile of blankets and pillows that belonged to her faithful Woehound, Keen, his head resting against her knee as she looked over the piece of paper. She mused over the name that was there.

Sparrow.

She thought perhaps she might have heard it somewhere before but then again, someone might have just been pointing out some avian life to her. She lightly scratched Keen's head. "I guess so long as they aren't undead." She had made it a specific point to mention she'd have none of them. The thought of rotting hands on her person was... "Ugh." It made her shudder.

The ghostling continued her musings on her potential date, hoping they were a looker, wondering if it was a boil or ghoul (because frankly with a name like Sparrow it could have been either), wondering what she should wear. She wasn't sure when Keen had lifted his head from her lap to look steadfastly at the door but at some point she noticed that she was no longer scratching behind his long ears. "Keen?"

No sooner had she spoken than a knock sounded at her door. The banshee jumped slightly, not having been expecting it. "Coming~" She called out as she extracted herself from the hound and blankets. Aislin walked casually to the door - was it Seiji? Maybe Cady? She couldn't really think of anyone else who would visit. Grasping the doorknob she pulled it open, ready to give a coo of delight at the sight of one of her friends.

Only to see... a Reaper at her door. Her expression immediately screwed up into one of confusion, chin lifting a little haughtily. "What would bring a Reaper to the ghost dorms?" It was an honest question with no malice in her tone.

On his shoulder, Dihi fluttered a bit, the bird's tiny wings flapping against his ear, and Sparrow reached up a hand, gently brushing his side to calm him down. Out of all of his minipets, the minuscule shriebird was his the easiest to carry around, and particularly enjoyed riding on Sparrow's shoulder. He had tried to leave the room that morning without Dihi noticing, but there had been a hurt-sounding twitter, and so, resigned to it, Sparrow had taken the bird along with him to go meet his prom date.

When the door opened, Sparrow knew instantly that he'd been right in his assumptions. Aislin was that ghoul he had seen in the library; tall, blonde, and leggy.

And, if he also remembered correctly, she did not really seem too keen on reapers. Especially after the somewhat haughty greeting she gave him, though he could tell that she was more curious than irritated. But despite that, Sparrow politely ducked into a small bow, his arms pressed against his sides.

"Good afternoon," he said, and then straightened, folding his gloved hands behind his back. "Aislin, isn't it? I don't believe we've been formally introduced yet. My name is Sparrow Heartreed. I...am your date to the prom."

Brown hair, very blue eyes. Oh yes, she remembered where she had heard the name Sparrow before. She had met him in the library along with Jove, Seiji's friend, and that one other haunt. She couldn't really recall his name, just that he'd been rather gray. She set a hand against the door frame and leaned her hip against as well, cocking her head to the side as what he'd just said sunk in.

Oh, Jack, she'd forgotten to include Reapers on her NO list.

Granted... she couldn't deny the charming air he carried about him. Eyes opened to glowing slits she looked him over through thick lashes. "Sparrow Heartreed." She sighed, stepping forward and reaching out to lightly touch his cheek. She walked around him, occasionally slender, chill fingers would reach out to finger a fold of cloth or feather through a lock of hair. When she'd gone full circle around the Reaper she held out one hand to him. "Yes, I'm Aislin. I guess if Riley thought that you would be a good date for me..." She'd only just met the ghoul but already found reason to trust her.

"Well. Come in, then." She stepped away from the door, leaving it open, and went back into her room. She expected Sparrow to follow.

She was looking at him very carefully, with an almost suspicious air. Sparrow didn't really know why she had a problem with reapers, though if she were anything like Jove, it meant that they had a thing against them for being the ones to reap their souls. He couldn't really hold it against her, however; many of the ghost students were wary of the reapers.

And she was quite beautiful - though wearing much less than he was used to seeing ghouls in. "Yes," he answered her as she repeated his name, offering her a small smile. Aislin stepped forward, her fingers as cold as ice as she brushed them against his cheek, walking in a slow circle around him. His eyebrows drew together in mild bemusement, head turning to follow the path she made before she stopped in front of him, hand outstretched. Quirking a brow, Sparrow extended his own, taking her small, delicate fingers within his.

"A pleasure to meet you, Aislin," he said, and ducked his head, pressing a brief and very light kiss to the back of her hand before dropping it. She had turned now, slipping back inside of the room, and after the smallest hesitation, Sparrow stepped after her. He held his hands behind his back, glancing around; it was so unlike his own room, so very...well, girlish. It made him smile, and he tilted his head to look at her.

"So tell me a little about yourself, Aislin," he said loftily, stepping slowly around the room to peer curiously at various things before stopping in front of the ghoul. "I'd like to know about the lovely ghoul I've been honored to take to prom."

She watched as he paced around her room and looked at the things along her walls. Keen had gone back over to his corner and flopped down again and lay still save for his long tail, which thumped quietly every now and then when he thought she was looking his way. It was a bit strange having a Reaper in her room. She wondered weather or not he was a Grim. If not then perhaps... perhaps it wouldn't be as terrible as she initially thought. For a reaper he at least knew how to treat a ghoul.

"Now that's no fun." She sat lightly at the foot of her canopy bed, a tiny puff of dust rising into the air. It was obviously hardly used - the cream and yellow covers were a tad creased, the drapes had been drawn back and were a light, gauzy, see-through material. "Where's the thrill of it if we just spit out a bunch of random facts about ourselves? Why don't you ask me a question or two, and then I'll ask you some back. Honestly." She gave a light scoff, then patted the spot on her bed beside her.

Sparrow kept his hands tucked neatly against his lower back as he paced, eyes moving slowly up and down the pale cream walls with their haphazard shelves and dozens of random knickknacks scattered throughout before they landed on the ghoul again. Aislin was sitting on the edge of a bed that looked...well, not really used at all, if the way dust gently floated up as she patted the covers was any indication. He wondered where she slept if it was not in her bed, but that felt like too much of a personal question, and he quickly pushed it out of his mind.

"Ah, yes, you do seem the type to like things a certain way," Sparrow replied with amusement, raising one eyebrow at her. He did not join her on the bed, like she was indicating he should, instead taking a step back to lean lightly against the wall. "And I'm afraid you will have to make do with me speaking to you here," he added, smiling playfully. "I can't see your beautiful face sitting beside you, now can I?"

Sparrow folded his arms across his chest, raising one gloved hand to tap thoughtfully at his chin. Questions... What sort of questions could he ask that were not too prying, nor too bland? Aislin was obviously not someone who enjoyed settling for the mundane niceties that most introductions brought, so it could not be anything dull such as What's your favorite color or Do you have any brothers or sisters? No, those certainly would not do...Sparrow raised his eyes again, tilting his head at the ghoul.

"All right," he said finally, the barest hint of a smile matching curious eyes. "Here is a question for you, milady. What is it that you like most about a boil? And I don't mean myself, of course, I mean...what is it that you look for?"

Sparrow hoped the question was not too personal. He was not trying to scare her off, for Jack's sake. Or irritate her, for that matter.

She couldn't help curling her toes, shoulders shrugging and hand coming up reflexively to put fingertips to her lips, as though to hide the charmed little smile that blossomed across her face. Oh yes, he certainly knew how to treat a ghoul. The compliment didn't go unappreciated. Wisps of blond hair curled and floated lazily through the air about her face as she leaned forward and put one hand on the edge of the bed as he gave his question.

What was it she liked in a boil?

Brows lifted slightly and the fingers at her lip fell down to one that tapped gently at her chin in an unconsciously similar fashion to the Reaper. What did she like in a boil... hm. Eyes opened and glowed faintly as she stared off into space, vague notions of a life long gone ghosted across her mind. Something just out of grasp, at the very tip of her tongue... She tried to grab hold of the elusive thoughts before brushing them aside and asking the question again out loud.

"What do I like most about a boil. Well, let's see." She began ticking off on her fingers. "He should be charming, interesting, hmm. A sense of adventure as well, maybe? And a sense of humor." This was a surprisingly hard question to answer. "Someone who has fun, who doesn't care what others think, has a mind of their own. It'd be no fun if I told them what to do all the time." She sat back, looking towards her date with a little smile. "I suppose in the end, though, I like someone who can keep up with me.

"Now. Let's see... What do you consider a fun time?" She continued watching him with eerily flat white eyes.

Sparrow had a slight moment of panic where he wondered whether or not his question had been too intrusive. Something had told him that she seemed the type to like a little adventure, the type that would not get offended by such a small thing, but one could never really tell; especially with ghouls. Not that he was saying anything against them, but he tended to tread cautiously around them. He did enjoy their company quite a bit, after all.

Aislin had mimicked his chin tapping gesture, and Sparrow wondered whether or not it was on purpose or merely subconsciously. But he didn't ask her; instead he politely remained silent, letting her think.

"Charming?" he repeated with amusement, his eyebrows lifting. "I do agree; a boil should be charming towards a beautiful young lady, should he not?"

There was a teasing glint in his eyes that betrayed his mock innocence, and Sparrow felt a smile curve his lips upwards at her question, tilting his head as he regarded her curiously. "What do I consider a fun time? Well, now, that's quite an interesting question..."

He paused briefly, lapsing into silence while he considered it. Then after a moment he said, in a playful, mischievous tone "If I said whatever you consider to be a fun time I would as well be too much of a cliched answer?" Sparrow shook his head, lifting his arms in a who, me? gesture before folding them back against his chest. "I suppose I find things fun when I am enjoying that thing with another person."

That teasing glint was back. "Or perhaps it is the company that I find to be more fun and less so the actual activity."
